The Southern Gentleman is a Southern-inspired gastropub in The Buckhead Village District. The concept celebrates every aspect of what it means to be from the South with a fresh, modern take on traditional dishes made with locally sourced ingredients. The bar program explores the artistry and history of classic Southern cocktails—everything from barrel-aged cocktails to bottled libations to adult beverages on tap, along with New World wines and craft beers and the “perfect” mint julep.

The gorgeous top floor space in Buckhead Atlanta was designed by New York’s Lacina Heitler, and features classic, Southern touches done in surprising, modern ways: seersucker window treatments, tufted camel leather booths, vintage plateware, white marble countertops, vaulted ceilings, herringbone floors, dramatic chandeliers, complete with an oversized portrait of Mark Twain painted by a commissioned local artist.

The place was a crowded venue so please coming early to make your reservation on time. The placement was weird and confusing to find but once you’re there it’s really nice. The food and drinks were great.

Food was amazing. The half chicken was delicious. Ordered the pureed potatoes and corn bread as well. Pumpkin chicken was awesome.

Sat outside it was great, Shady table. Everything we got was amazing. We ordered quite a few things so we could taste each one and we weren’t disappointed in anything. Cocktails were damn good🌟

The food came out very quick and not very hot, Devil eggs, made with too much mayonnaise. The fried chicken has too much batter and the cornmeal based pancakes was just warm.. my son omelet was over seasoned with salt.. the Mac and cheese came out quick however that was not heated throughly..

The kitchen and dining room were both short staffed which made the wait for our starters and food very, very long. The wait staff was very attentive and apologetic. We took our food to go and it was fabulous! The pork chop was tender and well cooked. Other that the wait for our food, the experience was very, very good!
