Great choice for our anniversary. Loved the food and service
Exceptional food! Taste was great, presentation great but most of all I’m still Intrigued by the best chicken ever!! It was crunchy on the outside and juicy roasted inside.. WOW! The best ever!
The food was exceptional. The service and atmosphere were very nice as well. I particularly liked that the food was so inventive with unique flavors. Our waiter was kind of enough to agree to let me halve an appetizer when I wanted only a smaller portion than was offered on the menu. This kind of "over and above" service makes The Source stand out! Highly recommend!
As always excellent service with attention to detail, professional wait staff and delicious food. Would definitely recommend. It's also a very nice spot for birthday celebrations from personalized menus to special treats.
Been here multiple times. Great food. Awesome service.
We had been looking forward to going to this restaurant for a long time. We finally decided to go last week and boy, what a disappointing experience. I will start with the two good things about the place. The ambiance was very nice and our server was warm and welcoming. Everything else was shockingly mediocre. There was a young lady who was serving us water. She must have been new, she looked so terrified, I felt sorry for her. We asked for water with no ice since the AC was turned on high and it was pretty cold. She kept on giving us water with ice until another server had to come help her out. When they brought the glass of water with no ice, there was hair in the water. After we were done with the appetizer, the poor girl came to take away our dishes. She held the chopsticks at the eating end then decided we might need them and put them down for us to use. The main entrees came around and oh dear, a take away asian place has tasted better. The chicken was super salty, and the duck was also not that great. We couldn't finish that food. For all the money we had to pay, this was not a good dining experience. When we got in at around 7:45PM, we were surprised at how empty it was for a Friday evening. Now I guess I know why.
I had them make a vegetarian meal with brown rice, tofu and vegetables. It was excellent.
We were visiting from Philadelphia (a city that has set the bar for food high) and looking for a relaxing dinner after a day of traveling and museums. The Source was the perfect end to our day! Happy hour drinks and food were great. We then moved to our reservation on the outdoor patio, which was mostly shaded from the evening sun. It was perfect. The service was absolutely top notch, and the food was delicious. We love sharing and trying multiple dishes, so the family style dishes were ideal for us. We had dumplings followed by the duck for two, which is served in two courses, and we are still drooling over the bao buns we were able to construct with all of the trappings. Thank you to The Source for a lovely evening! Would definitely come back if we are in DC again!
The hostesses and staff were very friendly and attentive. They answered or questions explained the dishes very well! The service was quick and the food was amazing and so flavorful! We had a wonderful time!
The Source has been a favorite restaurant of mine and my husband’s for a number of years. Within that time, we’ve gotten to know Executive Chefs and staff—all of whom have been absolutely wonderful, along with the imaginative culinary delights and top notch service. This visit was our first since Executive Chef JongJip came on board a few weeks ago, and we were thrilled to have had the same high quality dining experience as we’ve had with other ECs at the helm in the kitchen. We were there to celebrate my husband’s birthday. Prior to our visit, I asked him what restaurant he wanted to go to for his birthday dinner celebration. He very quickly and unequivocally said, “The Source!” Thank you, The Source, for making our special occasion extra special by accommodating our vegan diet with a delicious four-course meal and providing excellent service. We love you all!!!
Did the “secret” nine course tasting menu. Was awesome.
The duck for two was delicious.
The shrimp & carrot dumplings were delicious.
The sushi was good but I've had better.
The creme brulee was different with blood orange and cardamom.
The wait staff was very attentive without being intrusive. Our waiter answered all questions completely and very politely. I highly recommend this restaurant.
The food, wait staff (our wait staff was headed by Erica) were outstanding! Management made a point to come by the table as well. Just an overall outstanding experience.
Our party of 4 was looking for a quiet place to spend a couple hours after Jazz in the Garden. We had a few requirements. Walkable from the National Gallery Sculpture Garden. Beautiful ambience where we could talk at length. VERY good quality and outstanding dishes. Excellent wine selection. Creative cocktails. Stellar service. It just so happens that The Source fulfilled every single stipulation! From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with joyful smiles, an offer to store our picnic baskets and blankets, immediately seated, and the service began with much attention to detail. Research on Yelp caused me to ask for the dumpling sampler. It was supreme! The presentation was pure art. I also requested sushi, not on the menu, but I was given 4 choices, and the dish was made as though a Japanese master resided in the kitchen! We will back next month after another visit to the National Gallery of Art.
Everything was top notch. The only reason for 4 stars was due to the length of time we waited for our food. The service was excellent. Great place, highly recommend for dates, business dinners, or special occasions.
AMAZING. One of my favorite places to eat. Impeccable service. Delicious food.
Outstanding as always, the food is perfect and the service is beyond any expectation, we go there weekly and have never been disappointed, each experience is better than the last
Love the staffs
We shared two of the dumpling appetizers (pork and shrimp). Both were delicious with just the right amount of heat.
I enjoyed my experience at the Source. They got an interesting take on Asian cuisine, which I haven’t really tried. The staff are extraordinarily courteous and the environment is ambient. I like this atmosphere when it comes to having a proper dinner.
Try the Patio. Manager a real professional with attentive care to every guest. Food outstanding
This was one of the best dining experiences that we've had in the better part of a decade. The meal was truly a phenomenal dance of texture and flavor, the presentation was lovely and all of the serving staff were a delight. Absolutely recommend for a great date night out or special occasion.
Never fails to be spectacular!
The staff at The Source made our birthday celebration a memorable one! The food was delicious and had great presentation.
Loved the entire experience food was incredible presentation picture perfect
Everyone was very accommodating and professional. The food was excellent and the prix fixe option was a great deal. The 3 delicious cookies at the end topped off a wonderful experience.
Great experience ! We loved the tasting menu every much
Truly a delicious experience. Some of the best food in town.
Simply the best... but be prepared to pay for it! We don’t mind the expense because the food is incredible!
Great dining experience!! The flavors were very one of the kind and interesting. We had a great south African wine. Our waitress was wonderful. I would recommend dining here.
Food was good but we felt like the tasting menu was not worth the cost. We did have a great time though and will be returning costumers! Thank you for making our anniversary special, service was exceptional!
This is one of our favorite restaurants. The best service is always what makes us return, want to highlight that George is the BEST , extremely attentive , professional and make the dining experience a special one
Sommelier was very helpful and kind. Greatly appreciate the attentiveness if staff.
Every bite of food was amazing. Service was great. Fantastic brunch if you love dim sum, which we do.
Great atmosphere, nice selection of wines, and some excellent wait staff. Food was very tasty, but a bit expensive. Overall, high recommend for return!
Birthday, Mother’s Day and every special occasion we want to celebrate, we always think about The Source by Wolfgang Puck! And George Martinez is our favorite waiter and host!! He is very kind, attentive and friendly.
Excellent service and amazing food. The experience couldn't have been better.
We attended for Saturday brunch on our last full day in DC. Everything about the event made it a wonderful experience. We were advised to try eight dim sum plates between us and the selection gave us the opportunity to try a range of tastes and styles of cooking. Many of the items were unique I believe and made the experience. The service was outstanding and the ambience and decor lovely. Highly recommended.
I brought my boyfriend here to celebrate his birthday. We’re both industry and understand when you’re trying to close up shop but please don’t offer reservations at 8:30 if you can’t accommodate a full dinner service. We felt rushed the whole time. The service was terrible. This was supposed to be an amazing 35th birthday celebration and felt like a rushed casual dining experience.
