The Social Club - Surfcomber South Beach Ratings and Reviews
I ate here for brunch and it was a great experience. Endless mimosas for $30. The music was great, wish it was louder. It was a pretty laid back atmosphere which was great for girl talk and hanging out with friends. The food was good. Everything was reasonably priced.
Our Server was fantastic, light-hearted and fun. She was really attentive and comfortable with our group taking our time to finish the meal. Brunch food was delicious but nothing that would blow your mind. We had the fresh donuts, chicken slider, tacos, and avocado Cesar salad.
This restaurant is amazing!! The staff and the management was just as beautiful as the food! Weird to say but soooo MIAMI! Everyone was gorgeous, kind, and extremely hospitable. I had the signature Sufcomber with the agave sriracha on the side, green tea and a shot of their colada cuban coffee! This meal cured my hangover and allowed me to cont' with my long MIA day! I can not remeber the managers name when i was there but he was so welcoming!
I do not understand why this isn't a top local restaurant. The food is superb. My family and I have have several excellent meals here. The appetizers are killer. The pork belly tacos, burrata, and the grilled octopus were all amazing. Happy hour is great and the buffalo alligator was superb.
The people watching from the outside seating is awesome right on Collins. Great spot.
Disappointed by the service - I think our waiter was new and a little overwhelmed. My friend's bone marrow burger was excellent; my ribs were a bit boring but the salad and mac & cheese were fine. Good selection of draft beer. Not as good as we thought it might be.
Food was delicious, service was a little slow. My mom and I chose to sat outside and we kept feeling like the waitress was forgetting to come out. When our appetizers came out no plates were provided, and since it took long for the waitress to come back out we just ate out of the dish.
The Chef does a wonderful job with the food - we started with the Pan Roasted Brussels Sprouts (fantastic flavors) and the Ricotta Gnocchi (not too heavy which we were very happy about) and the Mahi Mahi. We split everything and we felt like it was a perfect amount of food for the both of us considering we weren't starving, but wanted to taste a few things.
....but maybe next time I'll chose to eat inside.
We got there about noon with the reservation and were greeted nicely and seated right away. Our waiter was polite and friendly, the food was delicious and the Mamosa and varieties we're good. However, once we received our food, it was impossible to get a waiters attention. He basically disappeared and never came back. We had to walk up to the bar to pay for tab. There was no choice as to what tip to give him for bad service, as the restaurant at 19% tip to your bill no matter what.
I met two of my girlfriends for breakfast for a belated christmas exchange since our schedules always conflict. I found this restaurant and thought it would be perfect for our get together. My friends and I sat at a table with two chairs and a love seat. It was very comfortable and cozy. We were enchanted with how quaint it was for South Beach. The staff was very attentive and we never waited long for service. The menu was small, but covered all of the bases for a delicious breakfast. The cocktails were delicious also! I would recommend this restaurant to anyone and already have.
Horrible food for what you think you are going to receive. I'm sure the hash browns came from a bag. Eggs were inedible. Drinks were good. Service was good although the bus boy was more interested in his mobile phone than helping out the server. Atmosphere is good.
The food was good, but the service was slow. They had a limited food menu and were out of steak. We had a reservation at 9:15 and were served dinner around 11p. There were 6 people in our party with few full tables in the restaurant. They ended up giving us a bottle of champagne and red wine for free, since the food was taking a while. It was a nice atmosphere, food was good and I would recommend if you don't mind a long dinner.
My husband and I have been coming the the social Club at the Surfcomber for our pre-night out New Years meals for the last four years. This place seems to be a well kept secret. The food is always delicious and they have some of the nicest servers in Miami. Love this place.
On Saturday, our group of four went to the Social Club for Brunch for the first time, and dare I say the last time. Two of us ordered Eggs Benedict, while the other two ordered the Cinnamon Roll Waffle.
When the food came out, the waffles were stone cold inside. We informed the server, and she whisked them away with apologies. After ten minutes, she brought only one waffle back to the table. When I questioned what happened to the other waffle, the server said that she “knew” that I was hungry so she rushed my order and the other order would arrive soon. Was not the other guest hungry? Apparently, not - 15 minutes later his waffle arrived. And after all that, the waffles were still cold.
And the Eggs Benedicts were okay, except for the leathery Canadian Bacon that was left on both plates.
Finally, the “Bottomless” Mimosas cost the table $120, because the menu does not state the cost per person is $30, regardless of the amount we drink. We were thanked for not creating a scene as other diners have loudly complained. If the menu is not clear, maybe it should be clarified.
Went for brunch on a Saturday morning. Great menu selection - we had the breakfast sandwiches which were fabulous.
Brunch cocktails were a must and the bottomless mimosas were a naughty treat, not sure we made the best value out of them as we wanted to remain standing for the rest of the day!
Lovely service. We sat outside on the terrace which overlooks Collins Ave but is good for people watching if a bit noisy.
Went for breakfast. Has been a few times last year and was looking forward to the French toast which was amazing. I was very disappointed they had taken it off the menu. I had pancakes which were fine, but nothing special. They have homemade donut holes with dipping sauces which are fabulous. Pretty expensive breakfast.
