Good as always, the place is a classic steak house.
Their prime rib is about as authentic as it gets for approachable quality prime rib at a steakhouse. Nothing pretentious about this place, just a good ol' steakhouse.
Father's Day dinner
This is one of my favorite places to eat. Every time we come here I order something different. This time I ordered the baby back ribs that came with roasted corn on the cob and baked beans. It was absolutely delicious ! The ribs were so tender and fell off the bone, Barbeque beans and roasted corn was cooked perfectly. I find this place very reasonably priced compared to other steak houses we have eaten at. The atmosphere is really nostalgic with all the movie memorabilia that decorate the rooms. The servers are very attentative and personable. Another nice thing about this place is the entertainment!
Was so disappointed as they sat us in a huge Separate room away from music (didn’t even know this room existed). Ambiance was horrible and service not good either as it was like we were forgotten. Didn’t take dinner order until an hour there. Appetizers were late and zucchini cold. Honestly this was not the service I expected as we go there occasionally and love it in the music area.
We love the Smokehouse and are never disappointed. The food and service are excellent.
This restaurant came highly recommended by a friend. The steaks were great, the chicken pot pie was ok and the fish special was extremely bland. The service was good, the staff was nice but this is an expensive restaurant for just an ok meal.
We’ve been coming here for 3yrs. The service and food has been consistently exceptional.
The SmokeHouse is right out of 50 & 60’s movie scene. The atmosphere is old Hollywood.
Table 89 is our favorite and we love the waitress Yvonne. Great service and fun to talk with.
Great place to eat
The classic still delivers.
Great food. Great service.
Red booths, martinis, garlic bread, etc. Perfect.
Service was outstanding! Our dinner came out pretty quick but was still done as we ordered. Only real negative is that the noise level was louder than I would have preferred.
We were there for an after graduation dinner and it was the perfect choice. Our table was ready and in a nice, quiet, private area of the restaurant. While it did take a while to get our order taken, everything after that was wonderful. Some dishes were talked about more than others - the cedar plank Salmon, the steaks and the chicken fettuccine were hits. Less talked about plates - the stroganoff and the seafood trio. The rice pilaf was amazing, and of course, the garlic bread was outstanding as always. Overall, thank you, The Smokehouse for a memorable evening.
Predictably excellent food, at very reasonable prices. That’s what has kept this place in business so long.
We really loved brunch at the Smoke House. The food was great and lots of choices. Unfortunately, we were seated in a "party room" filled with big tables with noisy people. That detracted from the experience a bit. Other dining rooms and outside would be my choice in the future.
Always enjoyable to visit this classic LA landmark.
Smoke House is OLD SCHOOL. Think red leather booths and Martini's. The menu has updated items as well as old standards. Food is good, the garlic bread is famous.
It was a wonderful evening and certainly worthwhile
Really enjoyed lunch. Glasses of wine were very generous.
The Smokehouse never fails to deliver a fantastic experience and the Food is soooooo good. Highly recommend.
Wonderful all around. Our server was so sweet, attentive, but not intrusive, making recommendations and making us feel completely welcome. She even made it easy (and not at all embarrassing 😊) to ask about filming that’s been done there. The food was absolutely fantastic, and the atmosphere very “Old Hollywood”. We had no problem getting a table, even on short notice and it was easy to find. The valet parking was an extra bonus. Loved it so much, my daughter who had just moved to the area (the reason for our visit) applied and got a job hostessing!
The ambiance and history is palpable and our server Marco was incredible
We always enjoy the Sunday Brunch. Usually eat there about 5 times a year when we’re in town. The food is good & the service is ALWAYS EXCEPTIONAL!! Willie is the BEST!!!! One of these days I’m hoping they will do some updating/remodeling of the place. It could REALLY use it!!!
This has always been a special restaurant for me that comes with a lot of both family history (wedding rehearsal dinners, birthdays, etc.) and entertainment history from the good ol'days. I feel it deserves a little more respect than the people who come with flip-flops give it - it's a nice restaurant! Food has always been great and never had a complaint about the service. Hope you enjoy it as much as I do.
Great venue! Very cozy and old school style. Friendly personal. Amazing concert of Jimmy Angel! Rock & Roll renowned star. Famous restaurant where La La Land movie was filmed!
unfortunately my prime rib was full of fat. It was terrible. We eat there about 5 times a year when returning from Ahmanson Theatre.
The food has always been good but very poor piece of meat this time. I didnt say anything till they came to clear plates so waitress brought piece of cake. I asked her to show chef all the fat I had, actuallu couldnt eat and really did not have one good piece of meat.
They should not be serving that kind of prime rib like that.IO should have sent it back but our waitress wasnt around to tll her till the end.
I was very please with our waitress, she went out of her way to please us, great service.
Been dining at Smoke House for well over 59 years. Always a solid quality meal. Great service.
Many of the staff have been there many, many years which says something. Mimi has been
waiting on us for too many years to mention!
A group of friends went to the Smokehouse after a matinee at the Ahmanson. Traffic was light, so we got there 20 minutes before our reservation. However, we were seated right away. Everyone ordered something different... and each one liked their food. My prime rib was very fatty, but delicious and done just right! Always a nice, old time vibe here. The garlic bread, of course, is fabulous! We will be back.
Took my family here for a celebratory dinner. Service and food was fantastic from start to finish. Will definitely come back again soon.
Amazing place and vibe! And the meal was delicious! Love the trio salad and the new york strip. And the garlic bread? Amazing!
Great food, great service from Victor, awesome experience, cozy table by the fireplace - wonderful Olde-Hollywood experience... very romantic!
Love the old school vibe
I have lived in Minnesota for the last 22 years and had fond memories of the Smokehouse when I lived here back in the 90's. This past week we came out to California to celebrate not only my niece's graduation from highschool, but my mother-in-law's 80th birthday. Everybody found something delicious to eat on the menu and my mother enjoyed her "comfort food" of chicken pot pie. Nice touch to have a professional photographer in the restaurant to take a few pics of all of us, as we purchased a few photos that my husband (who is also a photographer and had his nice camera with him ) was also able to be in for once! It was a nice evening, and can't beat doing the early bird beat-the-clock to get 20% off dinner menu options. Smoke House made it a nice occasion for my mother-in-law and we were happy that Smoke House hasn't failed in still consistently providing good entrees (and the filet is still great -- not to mention the famous cheesy garlic bread) and that classic ambience from way back when, that you don't find in many restaurants these days. Thanks for the memories!
First time going and the food was amazing, service was equally impressive. Would recommend!
We had a delicious meal and fabulous desserts! The wait staff clear worked as a team, so service was prompt and attentive. The ambiance was inviting, like stepping into a family friendly, yet sophisticated dining room. While my daughter was not old enough to go into the bar and take photos, she was excited to be in the restaurant in which La La Land was filmed. We will make a point to dine there again, hopefully in the near future.
Had Sunday Brunch while in town. Great food and great service. Best value in town.
Our group of six had Sunday brunch at the Smoke House to celebrate my son's engagement. The brunch was very good, the atmosphere lovely, and we could easily carry on a conversation. The staff was attentive and very friendly. We had a very nice time and will be back to celebrate again.
Great Experience! Fantastic Service!
Despite one of our three main courses coming out cold, we had a wonderful anniversary dinner at the Smokehouse. The cold dish was promptly replaced and our anniversary was acknowledged with 2 complimentary desserts. All in all, still an old school classic with the greatest garlic bread of all time.
The food just seemed to be better than ever! I noticed a slight increase in prices since we were last there, but the prime rib is still a bargain! Ask for Fernando, the best server ever!
Loved it. The food was great. Old time ambience. They even have a camera person take pictures at your booth.
