Fantastic fun service and food. Will be back!!!
As always, our dinners were excellent. I ordered the prime rib and my husband ordered the tri tip! Of course we had an order of their famous garlic bread! Unfortunately our service was not up to par. In fact it was very slow. For a meal that normally takes 45-60 minutes we were there over 1.5 hours!!!!! That’s fine if you’re planning to spend the evening over dinner but we were on the road and simply stopped to eat. We will return but will make sure we do not have the same server.
All time favorite for Sunday brunch. The fixed price is perfect for the variety of good food and bottomless mimosas. The service is outstanding with wait staff coming by every few minutes to clear plates and fill empty glasses. Love the old Hollywood ambiance as well.
Wonderful ambience- sat at the George Clooney table. Can’t wait to return.
We met there for a group event with a bunch of friends. The food was absolutely delicious. A little pricey but worth it. Atmosphere is great. Live band in the bar area. We would definitely go again.
This was hands down the best meal we have had in years! We will return to the Smokehouse every time we are in LA.
Very enjoyable for dinner with grownup family. Food good, but not spectacular. Server was very good-attentive, but not hovering. Had a nice time.
Two for lunch. Shrimp Louie very good. Pork chops so-so. Caesar salad good. Service mostly attentive. Nice and quiet.
Fantastic old Los Angeles resturant that has stood the test of time. Always a great place to bring out of town guests to. Very good price for the great food too.
Very nice Sunday brunch. Meats could be better / higher quality.
We love this place for Sunday brunch, fantastic buffet items, great quality food, and bottomless mimosas, highly recommended
We love the Smokehouse. Great food, service & ambiance.
An old staple, always great. Ribs and Garlic Bread are awesome. The Sunday Brunch is Killer.
Fun and old time charm. Third time we have been since discovering it
The smokehouse is one of my favorite restaurants. Good service great food amazing ambience. Just go you’ll love it
Our waitress Yvonne was great! Loved the old Hollywood feel and history
I forgot what a bargain it is for dining before 6:00! It’s old school ambiance. We plan to stop in every time we are in the area.
The cheese bread is always delicious. Servers are all really nice and effcient
Service great, food great, value great
Great experience! We came to see the Hollywood ambience and in particular, the filming sites of Lala Land and The Office. It didn’t disappoint! We didn’t have any expectation of service or quality of food due to the location but were very pleasantly surprised. Ireland, our server, was an absolute delight and made the whole place even better. Food and wine were a great value, traditional selections but well executed. The garlic bread is amazing and worth shipping home. Will definitely go back while in town!
Hosts were very accommodating in regard to moving my reservation time. Order was taken promptly and food came out surprisingly quick. It wasn't a busy night, but I think they were understaffed because our waiter seemed stressed and busy. After we got our food he didn't come check on us for a good hour. The food was fine, I ordered poached salmon with creamed spinach. The salmon didn't have much flavor, but I enjoyed it none the less. The spinach wasn't my favorite, I didn't care for the flavor or the consistency, but overall the food was fine. Of course the garlic bread was amazing.
Upon making the reservation, I'd listed that it was my birthday. Here's where the lower review reflects. The waiter came out after an hour's disappearance with my cake and a candle. He rushed over to the table and said "All the singers have gone home for the night, so we can't sing to you, but here's your cake", dropped off the cake and rushed off. Luckily for them, I don't care at all for being sung to, so I didn't mind this. Others I think may have a different opinion. It was a bit brusque.
Then finally, the waiter came with the check, though I asked if I could order two garlic breads to go. He asked if I wanted them cooked or uncooked. I asked for them uncooked, but when he came back with the breads and revised check, the breads were fresh cooked breads. Again, not the end of the world, but a disappointment.
I would still go back, but it does seem they're beginning to lack in their customer service as of late and my experience is consistent with that.
This place seems to be resting on celebrity laurels. Food is good, not great. Service was very good and quick to get food on the table. Portions are enormous. Not terribly attentive to keeping water glasses filled. The ambiance is a bit worn. The kind of pushy photo sale at the end of dinner left us a little meh.
We had the Filet Mignon and Hamburger Steak. Both Dishes were cooked to perfection. The Filet Mignon was really flavorful and the Loaded Baked Potato had a delicious Oil/Salt -rubbed Skin. I love that they had Ginger Beer (Non-alcoholic and a good variety). The service was impeccable. We'll definitely be going back again to try more things.
We were there (total party of 5) for our friends 71st birthday. Unfortunately or server did not offer us appetizers (which we did order - after we asked him if he could put the order in for us). He never return to ask about our meal or to offer refills, or if there was anything else we would like. The server was disappointing until he brought the check, then he was friendly and smiling.... Tip Time! I've never had a server so dry and inattentive as this guy @ the Smoke House. I hope we never get him as a server again. The bus boy was quite friendly and attentive however, offered refills constantly ! (He was great 5+)
Great food, great service, old-school classic ambience. It's a bit pricey, but it's worth it for the occasional meal or special night out. Next door to Warner Brothers Studios, and given this restaurant's history, it makes for a great pre-tour or after-tour destination.
1st of all ... it was Easter, so they were very busy!
I have been here many times, but this was my 1st experience being at The Smoke House on a holiday.
You don’t want to sit near the bar if your coming for a nice sit down meal with friends and you want to be able to talk and hear one another. They did change our table when we asked, which was very nice of them. Our new waitress “Ireland” was a gem and took wonderful care of us. She made our dinner very special. The hostesses were also very helpful.
The food was all great except for one dish.
Our friend ordered med rare for their meat, and it was more rare than the person could eat. They did not say anything due to them being so busy. She just took it home and heated it up for another meal.
It apparently was very good then.
We love the history of this place.
We will be back again, just on a slower night.
This has been a favorite of the family for years now. Sunday brunch is excellent as well as just dinner. They are a little dated inside, but always good food and service.
Enjoyed our dinner, the staff was very friendly and knowledgeable
Was surprised to see poor dress code by patrons...guess in 2018 folks do not care
Good steak house at a very historic and old Hollywood place
We arrived early in day for a pre-Easter lunch. All of our entrees were delicious. The service was impeccable. We all enjoyed our food and even saved room for dessert.
Everyone continued to refill our iced teas during our visit. My friends had the chicken pot pie. It was really good plus there were leftovers for dinner.
A nice ambiance but the food is nothing special at all.
Truly a classic, old-school, Hollywood, leather-booth kind of place. The food was great and the atmosphere nostalgic.
This has been a favorite of ours for at least 50 years and it was great to see that everything is still wonderful. Great meal!
Over hyped and over priced. As our waitress was seating us my daughter heard her make a comment about “great, more kids”. The food was barely average and very over priced.
We left feeling duped. Spend your money elsewhere.
Traditional Steakhouse with red leather booths and great Prime Rib. We’ve come here for graduation and birthday celebrations and will be back. I recommend reservations, even on weekdays.
Absolutely awesome. Amazing food, outstanding service, and charming venue.
Very disappointed in our food and we were a party of 5, each of us having something different, and none of us were impressed. I was expecting an enjoyable dinner and am sad to say was left wanting.
Great as always
The food was excellent. However, the hostess did not open the doors until 15 minutes after when you were supposed to be open and confused us with another party sitting us at a table top for 6 when we were only 4 and it was in the back part of the restaurant where it was cold and with no utensils. We did eventually get moved but not until I asked 2 to three times. In addition, we were charged an adult price for our 9 year old. You need to work on you host staff.
