The service was terrible. Absolutely terrible. If it wasn’t for the bus boy I don’t think much of what we ordered would have made it to our table . Our waiter was totally disinterested in us - barely spoke to us - couldn’t be found when we needed him and never once smiled or looked us in the eye. I would never recommend this place to anyone. Prime rib was good - but the poor service ruined a special night out
always good food with an impressive menu.
a fave for special occasions as well
The room is dark, which is fine for a more personal meal. The portions are huge-easily shared.
Enjoy an old time steakhouse. Everything was very good.
Absolutely enjoyed our brunch here. Superb service, great food with many options and cozy quaint place. Would definitely come back.
The Smokehouse is a classic. Brought a friend from out of town who'd never eaten there. He loved it. We all did. Perhaps, it's a little more for special occasions. But, always a winner of a meal...no matter what the occasion! I always thought of The Smokehouse for steaks and chops, and forgot about it's namesake...what a great bbq restaurant it is. Delicious! Everything always is...
Great food. Love the prime rib. Wife enjoyed the filet. Garlic cheese bread a MUST
The Smoke House might be the most over rated and priced restaurant in LA. Four star prices on a one star meal. I have had better a filet on sale from Ralph’s. Don’t waste your time or money. The Smoke House is well past it’s glory days in service, ambience, and food. If you are still want to give it a try; they take your order quick and serve it quick just like Golden Corral. Don’t forget the noise!
The Smokehouse is the Smokehouse, a favorite constant in the ever-changing landscape of here today, gone tomorrow fad-driven eateries. I have been going to the Smokehouse for over 50 years and it is as pleasant an experience today as it was when I first went. I appreciate the Smokehouse!
Outstanding...as always. Tri-tip sandwich was fabulous. Love the cheese bread is!
I FEEL THIS RESTAURANT RESTS ON ITS LAURELS. THE FOOD WAS ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE. THE STEAK WAS TOUGH AND THE SALMON WHICH WAS GRILLED WAS TASTELESS. THE ONLY GOOD THING WAS THE SWEET POTATO. WHEN WE WALKED IN THE PLACE, IT HAD A FUNNY SMELL. IF WE HADN'T ARRANGED FOR A LARGE PARTY (12) WE WOULD HAVE WALKED OUT. EVERYONE IN MY PARTY HAD THE SAME REACTION.
Great service all around!
The food is always amazing!
The Old Smoke House atmosphere is charming.
A timeless classic and a Burbank treasure.
I didn't realize when I made the reservation for Sunday that this would involve an open
buffet. In any event the food was very good, unfortunately the hot food was cold.
We mentioned this to our Waiter and he passed the message on the the Supervisor.
They took $10.00 off our bill.
Holy Smokehouse! $13 for a Martini? We usually dine in the 20% off time frame but could not on this night Dinner for four came to $189. With three drinks and two desserts. We had Smokehouse cut Prime Rib, Salmon en Plank, Blackened Salmon, baked potatoes, rice pilaf, clam chowder, garlic bread of course. All good. Service was excellent but forgot our to go garlic bread. Asked for a quiet booth which we had for a few minutes then all Hell broke loose as the organization of loud and boisterous diners (OOLABD) invaded the western half of the dining room. We were trapped until they had to use the restroom and we escaped.
I love the bread!!! The service is wonderful and I love the way they make my jack and coke. It reminds me of the good old days. That I wasn t around for, but I can't feel the vibe. I love that they have live music.
Came to the Smoke House because it was featured in the movie La La Land, it was quite good. Best for meat eaters my French Dip was very good.
Nostalgic Hollywood restaurant food mediocre
Once again,The SmokeHouse crew did a great job giving us a great meal. Tried the fried pickles as an appetizer and they were wonderful. The pulled pork sandwich was a real treat. The service is really amazing.
We came here to celebrate my 40th birthday with my husband and my parents who were visiting. They have been to visit countless times that it's hard to find a place that they have not been before... but my husband suggested this would be a good place after we had come here on a date. My dad was very pleased with the overall experience. And we got souvenir photos taken as well to commemorate the event. It was a great night.
Always great comfort food, friendly service, comfortable red leather booths. A step back in time with warm memories and old movie star photos, near Warner Brothers studio.
This is a wonderful classic restaurant, that has maintained its charm, service, and food quality.
Typically, we love this place for brunch, was in the main dining room, normally have the male server, whom is great, the woman this time was extremely lacking, will ask for the male server next time
We love this place! The food is always tasty, servers friendly and the service is awesome!
It was great the food was great.
If you're looking for an old school Hollywood steakhouse, the Smokehouse is for you. It's been in business since 1949 so they must be doing something right. Their lively bar was used in the movie La La Land and was bustling on the night I went with my wife. The dining room is classic steakhouse: red leather booths, dark wood beamed ceiling and lots of pictures of Hollywood stars of yesteryear. My wife immediately commented on how clean the restaurant was and it was indeed immaculate. My martini was really two since it came with a chilled carafe of more martini and an extra olive and onion. My wife had a petit filet and lobster tail while I had a ribeye steak. Both were well prepared and delicious. Prices are very fair. All in all a good experience.
Great steaks and side dishes. Wait staff was fantastic and had been there +30 years. Honors the wonderful movie industry history of the area since 1941. A unique and delicious destination.
Wonderful "old Hollywood" feel. Fantastic and attentive service to our group of 9.
The ambiance was a unique throwback to yesteryear. Classic.
Server rushed the food out. Appetizers came out with salad. Main course arrived before completing salads. Check delivered with no inquiry about dessert. Felt very rushed unfortunately.
Food is always amazing! Our waitress was very attentive!! Love this place
We were in LA for our holidays and had the restaurant recommended to us so decided to go on our last night. We were dressed casually and when we pulled up there was Valet parking which we'd never experienced before. I was a bit worried we were under dressed but the guy in the parking said definitely not and there wasn't a dress code. This put me at ease and when I went inside there were loads of others casually dressed and some in sportswear!! The staff were lovely and so down to earth and even though it's a place to "star spot", everyone was really nice. There were a couple of customers who were up themselves a bit but I was more embarrassed for them than anything else. I'd definitely recommend this restaurant.
It was just so so.
The Smoke House is a classic restaurant in many ways. The ambience and decor are "old school" and comfy. You can come here on a date, for business, or with friends or family and have a great time. The food is comfort food and well prepared. The garlic bread is a treat. The martinis are well prepared. All the wait staff is very experienced, professional and efficient. I love this place. Fun times.
I've been going to the Smoke House for over 50 years and I keep going back, even though I have to say that some of their classic dishes are not very good. I go there for the atmosphere and the nostalgia, but I always recommend that people not order a steak or anything else that requires skill and knowledge to prepare correctly. I always get the chicken piccata, which I think is delicious and a good value. But the other night my husband decided he wanted a steak and ordered the $34.95 filet, even though I tried to talk him out of it. He said it was one of the worst steaks he has ever eaten - well, not really "eaten" because half of it, full of fat and gristle, was left on his plate. So I encourage people to go for the experience, but don't expect anything remotely close to Morton's or Houston's style steaks, even though the prices are not cheap. Oh, and one more thing - I resent having pay $5.50 for them to park my car 10 ft. from where I'm standing, in their own parking lot - and that doesn't include the expected tip.
We love the Smoke House. The wait staff goes out of their way to help you and the hostess even sat us when we arrived a hour early ( only took us 3 hours instead of the usual 4 hours). We live in Murrieta and try to get there as often as possible. My husband's family starting taking him there back in the 1950's and it's still his favorite place. We had prime rib and of course the garlic cheese bread.
I've been coming to the Smoke House for about 60 years now. It started as a family tradition for birthdays and special occasions. This past Friday was a combination of date night and my wife's gracious suggestion we combine it with Valentine's Day to avoid the restrictive special menu that was fixed for 02/14. While a lot may of changed since the late 50's (especially the prices) their garlic bread remains wonderfully scrumptious. I'd recommend getting an uncooked full loaf or two to go. In a world where trendy restaurants come and go the Smoke House remains and prevails.
Large party next to us was very loud and it affected our nice dining experience.
Really disapponted this time. The prime rib was tough and nearly unchewable. The seafood brochette had one scallop in it... mostly vegetables is you consider red onion & green pepper popular vegetables (not me)... Won’t be coming back any time soon. Too expensive for what you get.
Tool the family out for Valentine's Day. Always good. Everything is always perfect here.
Outstanding! Best martini in the Valley. Great service.
