Old fashioned, red booth steakhouse. The garlic cheeses toast was exactly like it was 25 years ago as were the wonderful servers!!! I’ll go back.
I have always enjoyed the Smokehouse the ambiance and the food is always great. Many years of special events and good memories.
Enjoyed our experience overall & garlic bread is the best!
We had an 8pm Monday evening dinner so it was not crowded at all. I liked the fact that the entree included a side and vegatable. My daughter and I both had the large cut prime rib medium rare. It was really good. My wife had filet mignon and baked potato with all the toppings. Again, it was good. The desert menu is very appetizing and we had cheese cake and Boston cream pie. Our waiter, Jose, was very attentive AND he had a great sense of humor. I will go back on my next visit to Burbank.
We didn't realized the Smoke House has a Sunday brunch and thought we were going for the regular menu. It is a fabulous brunch--waffle, omelette, crepe, pasta, etc bar, tri-tip, salads, champagne, desserts....We will definitely go back!
The brunch deal is fabulous. Very reasonable price. The champagne is cheap and the orange juice is terrible, but the mimosas are bottomless. My server, Hector, kept our glasses very well refreshed.
Convenient location with easy access, old 50's steak house charm, decent Sunday brunch with good selection for vegetarians and carnivores alike. Roaming photographer eager to catch the moment for just $10 a shot, no pressure. Champagne was free flowing and Jose made sure the birth boy was never thirsty. Valet parking $3.75.... why don't they just ask for $5? Everyone in our diverse dietary group had a good selection to choose from but the highlights were the beet salad, fresh oysters, made to order omelets and waffle bar for dessert. Note: If you make a reservation on line let them know there is a birthday and they will bring out a birthday dessert and sing a song to embarrass your loved one.
Such history. Love the black and white photos and movie posters. Great food too! Can’t wait to come back.
We always enjoy the service that we get when we arrive. This is the way a restaurant should be all the time. Courteous service, great food and wonderful atmosphere.
Me and my sisters took out Mom to lunch. The Smokehouse is great. On Sunday they have a brunch which I was not aware of but from opening to about 3:00 brunch is the only option. The brunch is really great there is an omelette bar, a waffle bar, Tori-tip and ham carving station, salads, fruit, crab legs, shrimp , oysters, desserts and more. The brunch comes with choice of beverage, mimosa, Orange juice, coffee, iced tea, etc. I highly recommend the Smokehouse brunch. I just wish when I made the reservation it would have told me the only option was the brunch. I has made a 2:00 reservation and had I known it was brunch only I would have made then reservation earlier so we could have taken more time.
What's not to like. The food is always good. Brunch was everything and more. Nice selections of breakfast, lunch and early dinner with a nice cocktail.
Lunch and Dinner are always fantastic and brunch is off-the-charts delicious. I wish I could come every week. The food is just so good and the service is full of love and care! Get yourself to the Smoke House asap!
Always great food & service. Best Sunday brunch in LA.
I’ve gone to The Smokehouse for at least 35 years. Love it.
Prime Rib and Filet Mignon were delicious we all agreed. And as always the garlic bread is a must! We have the artichoke appetizer and it was a big hit as well.
Smoke House is an institution that we hope stays and stays!!!
Great nostalgic atmosphere...site of multiple film shoots. Great visit!
It was our anniversary, and the food and service were exceptional. We had not been there in a few years and it was just as good as i remember.
A very enjoyable eveing, and memory
We had clam chowder, dinner salad, cheese garlic bread and champagne.
So delicious and time well spent. We were there for New Year's Day 2018 dinner.
It was wonderful. Delicious cheese bread. Met our friends there for lunch.
Had table in quiet corner on holiday night. Good service, great meal and lovely
My prime rib tasted like a shoe. As a long time regular, it was very disappointing...
With three people with disclosed mobility issues, we were placed in the farthest area from the hostess desk in the restaurant. Food was very good but the server disappeared and did not offer dessert.
Food was excellent. Everything was as expected. Had a reservation, which is a must.
Very noisy but it was 12-30, so very crowded...even at 5PM when we went.
Porterhouse steak was average. Baked potato was good. Servers at Denny's are much better than ours. She was very cold, did not introduce herself by name, did not ask if we needed anything between the bread and the meal. Asked if we were OK once, after bringing the meal as she was walking by, and did not even make a stop to hear the answer. No smile, not asking if we had been there, or what was the occasion. Not going back.
On top of all that, the food did not sit well with both my wife and me a couple of hours after we left the restaurant.
We love the Smokehouse. Best garlic cheese bread ever!!!
Great old school experience and meal after the Warner Bros studio tour. Both our boys, 18 and 13, got a kick out of the booths, decor, and atmosphere. Even got a celebrity sighting in near our table! Great way to finish off a Hollywood tourist kind of day
Our experience at Smoke House in the evening on 12/28/17, was pretty good. Not stellar, but pretty good. Both myself and my dining companion had the Porterhouse steak. My colleague enjoyed his, cooked Med Well, said it was tender and full of flavor. Mine was a bit tough, requested Med, but not bad. The included baked potato was good, with condiments on the side. The sour cream container was about empty but the butter was plentiful. Chives also provided. I also had a cup of Clam Chowder. Also not too bad.
Our server, Marco, was professional but not overly friendly. He was obviously busy that night but it should not be evident to the guests quite so blatantly. Again, he was OK but nothing to write home about. The additional wait staff were efficient but also a bit too busy. The waiter providing water refills spilled on the table a couple of times as he was in such a hurry.
Surprisingly we found the value to be quite good, considering this restaurant is an icon in Burbank and does a brisk business just about every night. I had a glass of wine, only $7. Not bad even for a house wine.
I'll certainly recommend Smoke House just for the ambiance, if nothing else. I've had lunch there a few times and the service and food is consistent. Prices are reasonable - which is a pretty big selling point for a eatery in the expensive Burbank area. While you're waiting for your table be sure to check out all the various photos on the walls. Good stuff there!
Old time eateey with old world charm. Brings back memories of Hollywood of yesteryear. Great selection of steaks and meats. Solid selection of salads fish.
Food was meh, not worth writing home about. Service was lackluster--I had to flag down the waiter twice. The booths look cool with the red seats but the regular tables with their chairs fit for a regular banquet hall looked tacky. I would not recommend this place at all.
Perhaps the Holidays are not the best time to judge a restaurant on its everyday performance, but The Smoke House can be fun -- and expensive, as are most steak houses, it seems. While the fresh salad greens were fine, the bleu cheese dressing was not, but the 11-ounce prime rib was truly good, lean and with a depth of beefy flavor. The cut was cooked just right and accompanied by whipped potatoes and fresh asparagus. The garlic bread is not to be missed and a modest slice of fairly plain cheesecake was satisfying.
This was the first time I visited . I, despite of the highly reviews, experienced a bad feeling. Everything was pretty good except the service. When I gestured to one of the waiter for the bill expecting him to react. He looked at me, walked passed and totally ignored. I had to wait and wait until later for another waiter.
Always a great night here. Our reservation time was on the spot, our server was wonderful, the food was perfect. However I must unfortunately mention a subject that is not controlled by the restaurant. The four guests next to us, two older and two younger had a conversation that was in earshot of me and my friends/family. They were surprised by the "demographic" that was there that night and said, "Oh, must be because it's Christmas." Specifically of all the Asians that were there. Me myself being Hispanic, my son's girlfriend is Filipina and the guests next to us were Asian. I felt so disgusted by these comments and just stared at the older woman who did notice me looking at her. The younger gentleman was the one who was speaking and the older woman quickly whispered in the older gentleman's ear who knows what. I am honored that the majority of the staff including the waiters and the kitchen are Hispanic and will definitely be back to liven up the demographic.
Everything about going to the smokehouse is outstanding. Champagne and garlic bread is my favorite.
Great time with good friends, our annual Christmas lunch was awesome
this is an icon, food excellent, service not what it used to be, forgot my birthday celebration for sis in law.....spoke to gm manny very apologenic, busy for xmas season not enough staff comped a brunch for 2 at a later date......apparently under new owners they used to own in 1970 and now own again.....................changes for the good in the process.....sunday brunch awesome champagne all u can drink
First, the service was good. The food was quite subpar. My plate was lukewarm at best, and came across as airplane food. My friends had the prime rib, which looked unappetizing.
Been dining here since 1965. As a child I loved the garlic bread and the prime rib. 50 years later I still love the garlic bread and the prime rib. The Martinis and live music are wonderful. Service is attentive (a shout-out to Ireland who was our friendly server this last visit) You can count on The Smoke House to always deliver a consistently good experience.
The Smoke House is one of those mid-century, old-timey restaurants that offer reliably good food in substantial portions with great service.
Great place to eat food
Great bread and drinks
Hate to have to write so long
