Great value on a limited expense account budget. Service and food was great. We will return when in NYC on business!
Food was excellent
Excellent food. reat, friendly service. Definitely do recommend.
Wow! The food here was simply outstanding. Best brunch I've ever eaten. Just beautiful food. It was creative and so very delicious. Even the coffee was excellent (and I am a coffee snob).
So many people in there
So noise and not comfortable
But food is good
Outrageous cocktail price.
Incredible food!!! Will travel into the city just to eat there again. Staff was great as well. It was a pretty busy Saturday evening and the staff handled it very well. We also didn't feel rushed at any point!
Excellent food and service!
In town unexpectedly and were looking for a good place to go. My husband and I couldn’t have been happier. The Bloody Mary was delicious and just what was needed at 1:30 on a beautiful Saturday afternoon. My husband had the Smith burger which looked and smelled delicious, while I had the short rib hash on a bed of jalapeño grits. That hash is something I’m going to be craving for months to come. It was perfection in a cast iron skillet.
Only recommendation I would give them is that when they have reservations and they ask you to wait for your table ; They should maybe recognize you when the table is ready? I was standing right next to the hostess and she said well we couldn’t find you. LOL
Put some kind of notation in the computer describing the guest. ))
Otherwise I really like the place and the energy. Just be prepared that it is very loud.
We each (n = 4) ordered something different for brunch and all 4 dishes were delicious! And the staff were wonderful.
Mac and cheese is to die for. Amazing place if you can manage to get a table!
Had a wonderful evening in the city. Recommendation from my wife’s colleagues and did not disappoint. Our waitress Kelly was outstanding!!!! Even brought us warm chocolate chip cookies just because!! Highly recommend!
Good food and service.
I’ve been here so many times and love the food, but was disappointed. Was craving a burger and it was not made properly and tasted awful, I didn’t even finish it. Service was super slow as well.
Met a friend to catch up, range of dining options and decent drinks. Waitress checked in frequently and had a good time, I would say I like this one more than the Lincoln Center one, had a better vibe.
Came here for Sunday Brunch and enjoyed it so much we brought my brother and his wife for breakfast the following Tuesday. The coffee was so wonderful that we skipped having mimosas. The brunch menu was very good and creative with fabulous food to match. The breakfast menu was a little bit smaller, but absolutely tasty. Did not experience a marginal meal from the vanilla bean french toast to various egg options. The breakfast pot pie was unique and a big hit at brunch. The jalapeno grits were especially terrific even for those of us who do not normally like grits. The entire place had a good feel about it. We were happy to notice that it wasn't just a place for Millennials, all ages and demographics were well represented. I would recommend reservations for Sunday brunch as this place was quite popular. We will visit again the next time we are in Midtown NYC.
There definitely are some inspired dishes on the menu, but some of the flavors were overshadowed by a heavy hand w/ red pepper and black pepper. The vinaigrette was one such example of this, as was the dressing in the lobster roll. The broth of the mussels also had a strong pepper punch, which somehow wasn't imparted into the mussels themselves, which were plump and lovely, yet a little bland in flavor. What was the most impressive was the service. Our waiter was IMPECCABLE. Low key, courteous, attentive. He was so on point. The hosts seemed like aces as well, so it seems the place is run very well.
Always reliable, always delicious, always a great meal. The Smith is one of our most frequent option for out-of-town visitors because of the great vibe and the great food. Highly recommended!
Good food and cocktails
This location is super accommodating . This is the 3rd time my running group has had brunch here and they always seat us with our reservation and we never wait despite it being super crowded . Great experience. We love the bathroom . The vibe is great and is now our group decided this is our official post race brunch spot!!
Fantastic fun for us. Great food and service! We will be back for more fun and recommend The Smith to friends.
This was a pleasant Sunday brunch venue and the food excellent.
Quickly has become one of our most favorites in NYC. This weekend was 72 hours in the city celebrating our 9 year old with 2 grandmothers. From the French toast to pancakes to burgers - everything was great including service!
Great food and very fun atmosphere.
Nice food, great service. Very lively environment, appropriate for kids.
A bit loud, some of this had to do with the large group with kids at the next table. It was a little better after they left.
The Smith never disappoints with their fresh, flavorful ingredients. We ordered the avocado toast and French toast for our brunch date and couldn’t help but start with the chips and cheese. We had made reservations online and were seated as soon as we walked in; the service was great, as always.
Brunch at the Smith is always, regardless of location chosen, awesome!
We were sat by the serving station and asjed if we could sit some where else the blonde hostess could not have been anymore rude...it worked out but that's her job and we didnt mind waiting a few minutes .
Went here for a brunch with friends. Friendly staff and excellent food as always. Arrived 15 min earlier than our reservation but were seated right away. Highly recommend this place for brunch!
Perfect for catching up with a large group of out-of-town friends
Great ambiance and food. Would definitely go back. A good choice for date night or night out with friends.
We had asked for quiet table. Tried to seat us in the middle , very noisy we did get seated in a corner table and that was better. The original request was made on open table
So darn good. Hitting this spot up one more time before we leave. French toast / steak & eggs / Pancakes with Carmel sauce - all amazing.
Great Old Fashioneds. Bartender knows how to make a drink! Able to easily substitute side dishes; very good service. Food very good
Reservation for 8 PM. Not seated until 8:30 PM. Was given free appetizer. Waiter was good, not great. Food was spectacular.
Just be sure to organize your reservations more appropriately. 30 minute wait isn’t appropriate when one has a reservation and others are coming in and being seated ahead of those with a book spot in line.
The Smith never disappoints, food is always very high quality, prices are reasonable, servicers are friendly. You will not be disappointed when choosing the Smith for lunch or dinner.
