Birthday table. At the back, very noise
Great food and service. Energetic fun atmosphere (not a quiet setting for conversing). Highly recommend.
Great find. First we tried the one in broadway then this one. Love these restaurants. Food is great and service is awesome
We were seated late but a manager brought us free onion rings and apologized for the hold up, and even ended up taking our order because our server’s section was so busy. It was very appreciated!
The hostess would not seat us despite majority of our party being there until everyone was there when we wanted to sit and order waters and coffee. The hallway was also crammed with people so it seemed ridiculous that they couldn’t seat us as we were arriving. We also didn’t sit until 1:15 and the waiter was over booked with tables and took forever.
First time at The Smith. I found the staff rude and location of tables too close to bar and tight. Unless you enjoy having servers hitting your chairs while they deliver meals. Diners that are waiting for tables are just about sitting in your laps. Also they don’t honor reservation times, had to wait 20 mins past our reservation time.
Probably will find another place for brunch.
Excellent , energetic. However, how about a real wine glass for white wine by the glass ?
Food was great. One entree was not brought out with the others but management did the right thing and comped us. Great time.
Been going to The Smith for a few years now. I love it! The food is amazing, but I do with they would update their menu now. They have been serving the same stuff for years and after awhile it gets boring. Except for the noise level, everything was fantastic. Food, drinks, service.
I would definitely recommend this restaurant and location to others.
GREAT FOOD, EXCEPTIONAL SERVICE, WONDERFUL AMBIANCE.
Everything was good as always.
What a find! This was our first visit and we will be back! Original menu, great service. Loved the decor too.
Quinoa and Kale salad. Sublime!
We have been at the Smith many times and always have a great experience.
I was at the Smith for Brunch on a Sunday recently and the whole experience was better--food, service overall ambiance.
Which is why I went back on the 4th for an early dinner. The food choice was very limited and too pricey. The service and quality of the food was not up to my 1st experience. I will try another restaurant next time.
Bustling, in a good way, environment. Food was delicious and the staff was very friendly and attentive. I've been here several times for Brunch on Sunday and it is always jam packed. Given that it is a hot spot for brunch, at times you can see staff walking around looking to see if your done in anticipation of turning the table. Because of that you feel a little pressure to hurry and eat and not linger too long. Overall a great spot that I would definitely recommend.
Excellent food. Took some time to get seated even WITH a reservation. I am not very patient but the reviews said it would be worth it and it was worth it.
Waiter recommended other dishes that were amazing.
The Smith is always great. I always have great food.
The service was not the greatest this time.
We had to ask for everything. even at the beginning we had to ask if we could order a drink. Then when we wanted another drink it was really hard to flag someone down to order.
I will still go back but the service was just a little frustrating this time.
It was good but we did make a reservation and it took them a while to turn over the table. Just wish they were more prepped for brunch since I was
With my parents and never want them to stand around. There is no where
To sit and wait.
Had a reservation, but had to wait about 25 minutes. Very noisy. Delicious brunch.
The place is nice and the food is always great here but the service today was disappointing.
Great restaurant. Very good food and professional, friendly staff.
Service not so good. Restaurant is very busy with young families. Overall good neighborhood restaurant on the East side.
Saturday Brunch was so delicous! We had a reservation through Opentable so getting in was no problem. Everyone in our group of 6 enjoyed their meals - including the breakfast pot pie, egg white omelette and banana french toast. Quantities were large but hard to stop eating so we left full! Coffee was good, morning cocktail was great (Barnstormer), server was attentive. All around excellent choice - can't wait to go again.
My girlfriends and I flew in from Jamaica, West Indies and we’d made this reservation weeks in advance. We landed, dropped our suitcase off and headed straight to The Smith. The food was spectacular! What really took the cake was the burrata with those marinated roasted tomatoes and garlic ciabatta. Absolutely divine and the entire meal and EXCELLENT and fast service was the PERFECT start to our NYC girls trip. Thank You staff at The Smith for making this brunch extra special. I will definitely be back!
I adore The Smith! I come here at least once a week for breakfast or late lunch. What is really terrific about this restaurant is that when you make a special request in your reservation on opentable that are always aware of it and if possible accommodate you with a smile!!! Now that's quality service!
It was great! Had to wait a bit for a table during lunchtime rush. The hostess followed up regarding wait time and gave us a complimentary appetizer. Overall a great dining experience.
Love the daily specials, very noisy but nice, my kid thinks its too noisy but thats ok
Good crowd, good energy, good food, little loud but to be expected. Disappointed the photo booth was out of order:/
Took my friend there for his bday. Had great food and amazing rum punches. Definitely going back!
Don't ask elderly people to wait for their party to be complete. I stand in pain.
Breakfast was terrific. Everything tasted fresh and new and priced really well.
Annual Girls trip to NYC from Nashville. We love the food, drinks, atmosphere and drinks! We will always come back when we are in town
I met a friend at The Smith near Grand Central for lunch. The service was outstanding and the food was delicious with generous portions. I would recommend a reservation because it can get very busy. This is especially true for brunch.
Pro: I made reservations for 4, then had a last minute + 1 making 5 and the restaurant didn’t refuse seat us.
Cons: We didn’t get seated until 40 mins after our reservation time. The host/hostess keep saying they were waiting for our table to pay, however there were plenty of people leaving and empty tables. When we arrived, the restaurant was completely packed to the door. By the time we were seated, there was no one waiting.
The mediocre food was definitely not worth the wait.
I was very disappointed by my most recent experience at the Smith. I had family from out of town visiting and decided it was a safe bet for a birthday brunch. I was soon proven wrong, as we were seated 15 minutes past our reservation time. The coffee served was cold, our drink order was delayed, and we genuinely didn't feel the staff was hospitable. This experience certainly has influenced my impression of the restaurant and I won't be recommending it for any special events going forward.
Wonderful staff from the hosts to the wait staff! Fun place. We were there for brunch. Macaroni and cheese rocked! I had steak and eggs. The steak was tender and cooked perfectly. The sunny side up eggs were so-so — they seemed precooked — the yolk was dry.
I have been to The Smith numerous times now and they never disappoint. Brunch and dinner are always delicious. You NEED to try the mac n cheese.
Very delicious brunch. Good place to go with friends. Make sure to make a reservation.
