Food and service were both terrific. Drink menu is just large enough and has variety as does the menu itself. was seated quickly but as it got later I could tell the place was getting more and more packed so a reservation is a definite good idea!!
One of my favorite New York City restaurants Vanoven too. The waitress was amazing, the food was incredible, highly recommend!
As always the experience was wonderful. I have a food allergy and the staff was amazing to make sure they informed the chef and got me something I could eat. The drinks are always great and the atmosphere is perfect regardless if you are going for dinner or lunch!
Extremely noisy, would not recommend going to the restaurant if you have any intention of carrying on a conversation
Always a pleasure coming to the smith. The midtown location is the perfect size and the staff is amazing. I am going back tonight for drinks because of my experience yesterday!
Good menu, limited salad choices. The steak salad had limited steak. Outside of this everything was very good. Service is very good.
Great place for a relaxed family dinner. Dessert was a must at this one too.
Eh, it’s ok. Bread served with the meal not that good. Stay away from the coffee.
the foods are tasty, servers are kind and nice.lolol
We went for brunch on Sunday and the food was fabulous and well presented. The restaurant is large and can become a bit noisy but we had a fabulous table in the corner And got there early enough. A server was from Indiana and was extremely attentive.
Though it is pricy, the food here is truly excellent! The Sicilian eggs and smoked salmon and poached egg sandwich were stellar, my friend and I split each and it was one of the best breakfasts/brunches I've had in a long time! The place is rather busy and a bit packed, but not surprising due to the food being delicious. Folks filter in and out pretty quickly. This was a visit to NYC for me and my friend and it was a 10-minute walk for us to get here. I highly recommend this for folks visiting the city from out of town!
We also got the bloody mary, it was pretty decent but nothing out of the ordinary. I liked that it wasn't too salty, more like a horseradish and citrus mix. The lattes, which we got to go, weren't the greatest, the espresso was on the bitter side, so that's the only part I couldn't recommend. Food is amazing, though!
The Smith is a great staple restaurant. Bit expensive but large portions and consistently excellent food and service.
Unfortunately this was not a good meal out at the smith - salmon was rancid, service mediocre and overall wish we had stayed in. This was one of my favorite local brunch and dinner spots but I will be giving it a miss from now on
We’d eaten there once before & liked it enough to want to return. The surprise was how large it is—we‘d previously sat in the long narrow section in front & didn’t see the rest.
Food was outstanding! The tomato soup with the melted cheddar on top was outrageous! One friend had the pot pie & said it was great. A cheeseburger also got really good marks. Service was efficient and gracious.
I have been going to the smith for several years whenever I’m in NYC. It never disappoints for brunch, dinner or late night.
Food was fabulous as well as the service. Highly recommend this place!!!
Wonderful experience. Great atmosphere and terrific food. Had to change reservation details multiple times, which they accommodated without a hitch. Gave us the choice of table (that was available at the time). Comfort food at its best was exactly what we needed for the Thanksgiving holiday. Would/will recommend to anyone.
Thanksgiving at The Smith was a fabulous dinner- no hyperbole but it was superb in every way. The turkey & fixings were fantastic because they were excellent executions without unnecessary recipe changes. The BEST part was midnight snack of leftovers! The cocktails were lovely, and the appetizers were tasty in their own right (not just lame starters to get to the real meal). The restaurant was busy but not painfully crowded (a la Manhattan holiday) and our server had an authentic smile and great vibe. We will definitely be back again and TBH, we’ve been to a lot of restos over the years and this might have been the best.
We did thanksgiving dinner here. All I can say is “wow”!! Impressed with the staff, the food, everything. Well done. I highly recommend the Smith!!
Server was super sweet. Had a couple of minor issues. When the manager came and asked us how everything was we'd told him what needed to be tweaked. He asked us if he could hey us anything. My friend ordered wine wine, I said I was ok. So why thought my friend was comped a drink. We were waiting and waiting for our bill. Asked for it and or waitress told us or whole meal was comped. We were shocked. Things weren't that off to comp a meal. We tipped her well.
Came here for Thanksgiving and the price fixe menu was delicious - it was a perfect way to celebrate without the fuss and mess at home.
The Smith is one of my families favourite restaurants in the city. We always know we are guaranteed to have a great time when dining at any of their locations. We celebrate every thanksgiving here and love it so much. They have the best thanksgiving menu in the city in my opinion. Check out the smith for breakfast lunch or dinner, you can never go wrong with anything on their menu!
We went to The Smith Midtown for Thanksgiving dinner, and it was amazing! The service was impeccable, the meal was delicious, and portions were huge. The only thing that was mediocre was the dessert, which looked good but was not to our taste. The price for the Thanksgiving pre fixed $68, was very reasonable for the amount off food. Overall, the experience was great, and we’d definitely go back again.
Family met in NYC from Maine, Massachusetts, Tennessee and Louisiana for Thanksgiving. We had the Thanksgiving meal at The Smith. Very nice. Nice selections. Everything was great!
Thanksgiving traditional meal and was excellent!! I highly recommend having your Thanksgiving meal here!!
We went to thanksgiving dinner at the Smith on 2nd ave and 51st street. It was our third time. The food was just excellent as usual and this year I really loved the deserts. In the past I thought the deserts were just okay. The turkey was as moist as can be. My husband and I ordered two different salads to start and the sides of Mac and cheese, Brussels sprouts, stuffing and cranberry sauce were great. The matre d is very friendly and goes around to each table to see if everything is good and the wait staff is also very responsive and quick. I highly recommend this restaurant for a holiday dinner.
The BEST burger I have ever eaten. Melted in my mouth...and the peppercorn gravy was over the top. 5 of us dined, all ordered something different, and everyone raved about their dish. Fabulous and unique cocktails just added to the experience. Highly recommend.
The noise level was unbearable! The table was poorly placed with a narrow space right next to us for passers by & servers. The reason being an empty table next to us which couldn’t be moved . The manager tried to accommodate w complementary appetizers, but it didn’t help. Hamburger ordered well done came in on the rare side and fried chicken was cold. Not going back so soon !!
We have had brunch and two dinners at The Smith, all very good. Service is great, food really tasty and really recommend the Royale Burger and all the pasta dishes, specially the Beef Shin Cavetelli. Staff so friendly and helpful. Must try the Old Cubano cocktail, we are now addicted. All of this at really affordable price..... cannot recommend enough!
Such a good spot, I usually return to one of the locations 2-3 times a year. Great place to dine / catch up with friends!
Food is always great here. Love brunch especially. However it is extremely noisy. Don’t come if u want a quiet brunch. (Or dinner) food is also definitely pricey so not an everyday thing but great for once in a while. I always make a reservation ! otherwise you will wait for 3o mins +.
Nice place! Even though it was crazy busy, our service was great. Very noisy though.
The food overly sweet and not very appetizing. Disappointed
Food was uncharacteristically not good - cold, stale. It gets really busy...all the more reason to pay attention to the details.
Excellent service and excellent food!
We had a French artichoke dish for a starter. (Outstanding). My wife had the "bar steak" for the main course. (Excellent meat and sides, but the steak was slightly overcooked. Very Good Otherwise) I had the short ribs (Very Good). Excellent wines. Service got off to a slow start but was very good and attentive thereafter.
It has been a great brunch with friends. When they did a mistake with an order they fixed it immediately. I personally think the Bellini was over expansive as it comes in a really small glass. Perfect atmosphere and really good food! I’d love to come back.
Cramped. Noisy. Good food. Excellent, attentive service.
Great place to meet friends. Service excellent. Food very good. A little noisy but not too bad. All in all a good night out
