Excellent food. Caesar and butternut salads to start. Short ribs (Sat night special) and pork chops just right. Cranberry sorbet to finish. Crowded and noisy but it’s NY vibe!
So fun and our server was so nice. Thank you!
Very civilized, spacious brunch place with amazing food options from around the globe. I loved the Spicy Sicilian eggs.
Had an amazing post- Valentine’s Day experience! Food, drinks and our wait staff was the Best.
I had never been to this location before but saw great reviews. This place definitely lived up to it’s 5 star reviews. The food and service was great! My boyfriend and I started with the mac and cheese which is perfect two. This is one of the best mac and cheese skillet dishes I’ve had!
We then moved on to our entree’s. My boyfriend got the sea bass and I ordered the brick pressed chicken. The sea bass dish had a beautiful mix of flavors - the coconut curry was just enough not over powering. My boyfriend loved this meal!
I was impressed with the brick pressed chicken. It was well seasoned ( not all places season their chicken enough) and had a wonderful crisp on the outside. The meat was extremely juicy and melted in my mouth with the smashed potatoes and au jus.
On to dessert. I ordered the s’mores in a jar. This consisted of a thick layer of chocolate mousse followed by a layer of graham cracker crumbs, a huge layer of a giant marshmallow toasted at the top, two small graham crackers and a chocolate chip bar tucked on the side. I mention this because while the dish was good I think the mousse was a bit too much and made the dish too heavy. I would have preferred of the mousse was replaced with a airy chocolate cake at the bottom and half the marshmallow on top. However either way this dish is great for people who have a serious sweet tooth.
All in all I would recommend this restaurant for just about any occasion. It’s not overly expensive if you order in moderation. I will definitely be back to try more of dishes.
The waiter was very understanding and very helpful when it came to helping my friends and I figure out what we had a taste for.
Always a great experience. We come here for brunch or dinner whenever we are in Nyc. Never disappoints
The food was great, though my server kept ignoring my boyfriend and i and would turn his head away from us every time he passed by. Never resupplied our water, and seemed annoyed when I asked a question.
Restaurant is designed nicely, but tables are small and cramped so with two other people on either side of me with big, bulky jackets in a booth row was tight. Our waiter was lovely and everything came out perfectly on time, but the food itself was only OK and then it really gave me terrible stomach cramps immediately afterwards - I had the shrimp and grits. Overall for the price I wouldn't go again but pleasant experience.
Great service. Amazing food.
Consistently good spot. Great salads and will go back again.
Please advertise your mimosa and breakfast hours more clearly when making a reservation here. P.S. Why is the champagne $20 per glass?
They didn't have my reservation. They cleaned up my table while we were still talking. Have eaten there before but today was a mess.
Love the locale and food. Service is good but not great, but for NYC, it's at the better end.
Excellent food for the right price and great service
The food was great and our party never felt hurried.
Great place for a Meet up. And the fish tacos are delicious!🌮😋
We waited 45 minutes for a 1:45 reservation after we checked in at 1 and were told to be on time. We were seated near screaming children.
We waited 25 minutes for our table after we had a reservation for a large party of 10. Once we were seated they brought us a burata and cinnamon roll on the house. You think they’d take extra care of us but we again waited 20 minutes for our drinks to even come - which seemed like they had been waiting at the bar to be taken to our table as they were warm and the ice was melted. Food is always good here but very poor experience today.
Had to wait nearly 45 mins for our pre booked table. Front desk staff were unable to give a time as to when it would be ready, waiter was dismissive and clearly agitated (I’m assuming due to busy nature of brunch). Really disappointing experience from The Smith.
The food is consistently delicious, with healthy choices and wickedly less healthy ones, and quickly dispensed from the kitchen.
The service is usually very good although the major drawback is deafening noise and crowds of people by the front door waiting to be seated at popular times. It adds a stressful component to the dining experience. So go on off hours for a better experience.
For brunch, Great selections and service. Very nice atmosphere. Highly recommended.
The Smith is a great low key place to go after a long day in NYC. I took my 14 year old daughter here and we find the food consistent and the wait staff very friendly!
Waaaaayyyy overpriced and super expensive cocktails for diner quality food
Overall, very satisfactory
This is the BEST restaurant!
Very loud place but good food!
I was having dinner with a friend.
Very nice restaurant and service was quick and easy. I had the Steak Salad; it was excellent. I would definitely go back any time.
Always a great meal. The acoustics are not good and you can’t have a quiet conversation. Or as The Smith calls it “energetic “
I come here about 6 times each month and whenever I arrive, Laura greets me as if she sees me every day! Who doesn't like to be remembered? They have changed the menu and even though I do miss my brandied mushroom omelette, I love the oatmeal and the smoked salmon. The Smith remains the best breakfast in the neighborhood and a perfect lunch destination.
As usual everything was delicious and the service was wonderful. There was a slight sanfu with my leftovers but the manager handled it quite nicely.
The Smith always provides a great meal, with wonderful service in a welcoming environment. Go. You'll love it.
Zoe D was amazing and attentive, we’ve been coming to this location since it opened and it’s never disappointed.
It is just a solid spot. Food is very well prepared, service is very good and efficient. Overall very good place.
Food was excellent
Food was delicious, had the breakfast pot pie.
Tea was $4 and a little expensive.
The food was delicious and the waitress was incredibly nice. I highly recommend The Smith - Midtown.
