   Made reservation so did not have a wait. Hostesses were very friendly and accommodating. Ordered 2 Smith burgers but received veggie burgers instead. We notified a server and had our order corrected. We did not receive service after that, we were made to feel like the error was on our end. Underwhelming/lacking flavor, but decent portion size.

   This isn’t my first time here but my first time writing a review! I chose The Smiths - Midtown because of my prior experiences. The food and service were amazing as usual. Here for brunch and while the mimosa weren’t all that great it absolutely didn’t take away from the experience. Dining with a friend and family from out of town along with my daughter. Given the time of day 2:30pm, there was a nice crowd but not overly noisy! Reservation is highly suggested! Menu options were great and The Smiths burger, the strip steak, French Toast, and the BLT+E are highly recommended. The Smiths is a perfect place for meal with family and friends. Within walking distance to St. Patrick’s cathedral, Rockefeller center and lots of shopping. 🥂

    This wasn't our first time at The Smith and it won't be our last either. You learn to either accept the high noise level, or you dine elsewhere. There is a very good reason why The Smith is popular establishment.

    Average service as our waitress was too busy with other customers. Sent back my initial scrambled eggs having asked for them on the soft side. They were over done. When they came back I’m pretty sure it was the same over done portion of scrambled eggs. The person handing me the plate had the gall to tell me they were soft. Are you kidding me? Would not recommend this place to my worst enemy.

    We are from out of town and picked this place before we came to NYC. We were not disappointed. Even if you are not vegetarian I recommend the sweet potato schnitzel. It was fantastic!

    I have been to the Smith in Chelsea area months ago and it was excellent so I went to the midtown one for dinner. The salads were mediocre and my husband ordered the chicken pot pie and it had bone/grizzle in the chicken.

    In a 4 day NYC trip, we ate at 2nd Street location of The Smith 3x, never disappointed. Offered us plain (clear bottle) & sparkling water (green bottle) right away, great for thirsty travelers. For NYC, prices are reasonable and so are portions. You might actually eat everything on your plate - not immense amounts when you can't take the extra home when on your way to an attraction. Service was excellent. Selections were interesting and comforting, like pancakes (6" maybe, not plate size, but stacked high 3-4 of them) with orange mascarpone and hazelnuts on top, so good. Had to order egg and meat separately. Oatmeal with fresh slices of apple on top, cranberries, maybe almonds (can't recall) also good. One caution if stairs are a problem is the restroom location (unless there was an elevator I didn't see). Like a lot of NYC places, it's narrow, has a railing on one side, and a turn in the middle. Restrooms are individual rooms with full doors, and it's all genders as far as I could tell. Loudspeakers over your head are full volume. Love their choice of music - lively, songs lots of people know, keeps an energetic vibe in the place. Popular and crowded - recommend reserving on your way there although only once we were not seated as walk-ins - depends on the day and time. On Monday morning, plenty of open seats. Servers manage to keep up somehow - they're very good and very pleasant, as was the host station.

    Overall fine experience, but didn’t think the brunch was particularly standout. Had the crème brûlée French toast and felt like it was a bit too sweet and not surprisingly different or unique.
