Always buzzing. consistently good food and service.
The Smith is a solid choice for brunch - and while out-of-towners might choke at the prices, they're comparable to other NYC options that aren't as good. The food was solid. The staff was "off the hook" great. Noise level is so high as to make conversation difficult. Cleaner bathroom would really be appreciated. I'd go back again.
No wait for our table with a reservation (although it looked crowded and that people were waiting, maybe without a reservation). Great brunch, gluten free options (i.e. they could vary the dish e.g. no bread). It was noisy, but we were easily able to have conversation. Will definitely return!
The Smith is large & lively place! Sunday brunch is a fun & busy time. Be prepared to raise your voice for conversation. The food is hearty & delicious. Good sized portions. Staff is very attentive. Recommended!
One of the best brunches I’ve ever had! The eggs Benedict were perfect and my husband cannot stop raving about the pot pie.
I enjoyed the place. The food and service was great. I like the way the restaurant was set up. Our waitress, Zoe was very helpful. The place was a little noisy.
Broad selection so good for both meat lovers and fish. Interesting flavors, good service, carafe wine, nice casual ambiance. Easy walk from theatre district if you like to walk.
So loud! Hearing loss loud. We couldn't hear half of what the waiter was saying and forget about having a conversation. One of the entrees at our table was way too salty. Very disappointed with The Smith.
Had a wonderful meal, some interesting options like the ranchers scramble, breakfast pot pie and Benedict over cheddar cornbread. Will definitely go back.
Always consistently excellent... from the food to the service, it's always on point!
Had a wonderful brunch, with a very good waiter. I would certainly eat there again, in fact I wish we had instead of where we ate the next morning. Great food!
We had a 6 o’clock res and were seated right away, which was a plus. However, our waiter literally hovered over our table and it was very clear that we were being rushed. We would be mid conversation and he would just stand next to us until we looked up at him. Very obnoxious and rude. Also, keep in mind the food is overpriced for your fun of the mill American food.
Had a great meal, served by friendly, efficient, professional people.
They accommodated our group when we went from a party of 2, to 4, to 5!
Too loud... I can't hear most of the conversations. But overall I would highly recommend it!
Always excellent food and service here. Tables tend to be small and close together - try to get a booth for a more comfortable experience. Great cocktails too!
Great experience, delicious food
Nice ambience! Noisy! Good food a bit too salty...but generally fun!
the waiter's mumbling was incomprehensible, but the breakfast pot pie was delicious
Really nice place to be in , cake here for mother’s day and we love the food . The only thing is that the tables were too small for 4 people to sit
The Smith is always good. Mid-town brunch was well done, well organized, and worth it.
The atmosphere was perfect. Bright, spacious, and good size tables, all of which are a rarity in NYC. The food was great! I loved the Short Rib Hash. In addition to tap water, they also had limitless sparkling water served along side it. It was a perfect space for catching up with old friends.
Good food as always. Service was very slow. Overall good experience.
Very Loud Restaurant. Tile floor, hard ceiling = yelling to hear eachother. Food good, ok portions.
Good food and service: not cheap and VERY VERY NOISY!!!!!!
Our waiter was great. The food was served well and cooked to our liking. a good value. the noise was almost rowdy...be prepared.
Always kind and the food keeps its quality overtime.
The Smith is the #1 most consistently solid restaurant in NYC. I’ve been a dozen times or more and have never had a bad (or even just average) experience. The food is always good, the service is reliable.
Highly attentive service with good food makes for a nice place to have a "semi-serious" lunch. Although the tables are close together, the noise level was manageable and had enough space to feel comfortable. While not the highest-end of dining, well above "cheap-eats" venue - meaning it was a perfect choice for "thank you" on Admin's day
The staff was very nice and accommodating despite being late. We went there for brunch and an avocado and a mushroom toast they were both pretty good.
Excellent as always. We had breakfast but will definitely be trying here for lunch & dinner in the future. Great service great food, a go to to take people. Never been disappointed.
This place is amazing. I love The Smith. Love the people that work there and the entire experience. Such a cool NYC spot. The potato chips with blue cheese "sauce" is incredible. Definitely worth going!
The food was good as always. The sever was a little tense, but the managers were trying to help her.
Clearly marked gluten-free plates! Delicious :)
Great food but found the waiter to be incredibly annoying and kept trying to get us to order sides, drinks, etc. come here often and I know what I want. I do appreciate the fact they provide the cost of the specials when telling you.
The noise level was near intolerable. The staff at all levels were attentive. Food arrived quickly and hot. Delicious and creative recipes for the items we tried. The gnocchi was singularly the best ever. Small portion kale salad was perfect starter size to split. Smith burger was great value and so tasty. Too many fries but has anyone ever said that?
The food is good but extremely noisy! It's too much. You cannot have a proper experience and enjoy a conversation with your friends.
Food choice was excellent for a late breakfast!
Food and quality of service was very good. The music was way too loud. I could barely hear my guest from across the table. Other than the noise level, we were very pleased!
