The Smith - Midtown

A wonderful quick Sunday dinner between trains, A+ on cocktails, food and service. Experience fouled by a finger wagging, self important 14 year old manageress.
Food and service were exceptional. A bit noisy because it was crowded, which was the result of it’s popularity.
Excellent meal as always! Great server
Great location, great food and great service. A little noisy but most NYC restaurants are.
We love The Smith! Food is wonderful! We have eaten at this one and the one in DC and are very pleased.
Delicious food and atmosphere!!
The Mac & Cheese starter is very large--enough for at least 3 people.
The burger was tasty with a massive amount of fries.
Service was quick and efficient.
Glad we arrived earlier than our reservation as place filled up very fast
Very loud, noise level was way too high. Had to shout to the other person at table.
Loud and busy brunch place. Food was excellent. Servers rushed us out at the end of our meal, as expected in a busy brunch restaurant.
Food was for the most part outstanding! We loved the salmon avocado toast and the short rib skillet over jalapeño grits. The coffee was delicious. The Bellinis were average. The omelette was below average because the filling wasn’t incorporated into the eggs.
Service. Prompt with taking our order but tough to get refills on coffee. She also spoke so quietly that no one could hear her.
Great decor but on the loud side due to subway tile which was really ok. It was just the music selection piped in that compounded it. The music just sounded like more noise and didn’t improve the atmosphere.
I have been to The Smith Midtown a lot of times and always enjoy going back. Five of us had breakfast and all our meals were very good. Hi our won’t leave hungry and they have great coffee.
Great energy. The perfect spot for a quick bite before a night out. Super friendly staff.
Fantastic! We had 6 people in our group including family from out of town and we were seated promptly. Ambience and our food was amazing and our waitress was so helpful and attentive. The scallops were fantastic! Highly recommend-everyone really enjoyed it!
I took my wife and 7 year old daughter here for dinner before headed to see Wicked on Broadway, we were staying at the nearby Fifty NYC hotel. We are self proclaimed ‘foodies,’ and thought the cocktails, food, and service were incredible. Our waiter Julian was exceptional. I forgot my wool drivers cap, which they found and held till I returned the next day. We will be visiting The Smith - Midtown again!! Thank you. -PR
Amazing, delicious food! The ambiance was unique, comfortable, and low-key. Service was outstanding.
Seated as soon as we walked in, service was quick, waiter was polite, food was excellent. Overall amazing experience
Too noisy. Otherwise, the ambiance and the food was good
Maybe you have to be a hipster millennial to enjoy this place where you don't need to talk. The decibel level is so loud that you have to scream across the table to be heard. It's impossible to have a normal conversation. Food was mediocre at best: potato chips came with gloppy, tasteless blue cheese "sauce"--more like cement paste. ribs were so over spice rubbed and topped with a cloyingly sweet sauce that it could have been pork, beef, or chicken under it and you'd have no idea. Sea Bass, supposedly a specialty, was so overdone, it was rock hard. Salmon tartare was the texture of baby food--just nasty. On the plus side, the waitress was super responsive, knew we hated the meal, and tried to make amends. This is definitely NOT a place to do business.
food is always consistent. waitress was energetic and helpful. had to wait past our reservation time for a table, but that happens often here.
All good. Will be back
Awesome! Great restaurant. Terrific ambiance. Delicious food!
Very nice, good food, good service
Good choice on the menu.
Starter was great and the Pork chop was wonderful.
Salad options were good.
Anniversary. Put in the corner round table for 2nd year in a row. Awesome thank you. Great seats
Great service! One of the meals wasn’t quite right the first time and they immediately changed it out. Was a fabulous experience. We will definitely be back.
Asked for a booth and they told us they didn’t, but my friend and i saw one. Also, i had a reservation and got there on time but they made us wait while they sat people walking in?? Seemed like they didnt mind us and sat the white people first. But other than that, the waitress was nice and the place was beautiful z
Drinks were amazing
Food was amazing
Just go eat and enjoy
You won’t regret it
Sat at bar. Bartender provided excellent service. Food was once again great.
Underwhelming and overpriced. If you like loud, this is the place for you.
Rude wait staff, rushed service, mediocre food. Noise level so high, almost impossible to converse.
We had a wonderful time at The Smith. The service could not have been better, or the staff more friendly. The food was delicious.
Food and service were stellar as always
The food, drinks and service were outstanding. I would recommend this establishment to everyone.
Always very good food and kid Friendly.
A little pricey for kid friendly dinner but very good and we will always return as log as it stays consistent
Another great brunch at the Smith! Juan our server went above and beyond! Food is always consistent and delicious. One of our favorites !!
Great food, cool atmosphere, good location, would definitely recommend it
Great meal! Service was outstanding. We strongly recommend it.
Friendly service, busy but prompt delivery of food and apps, excellent quality and flavors...have been many times and will go again.
A large space which is good for groups in midtown. Menu is over priced and limited. Need more salad and soup options, especially at lunch. Should also offer specials.
Noise level is extremely high even when the restaurant is partially full.
Wait staff seemed disengaged but the support staff and hostess was extremely helpful and pleasant.
Fantastic service, was put in an intimate booth that allowed us to discuss business in a more private location than being thrown in the middle of the dining room
