Great food, fun
Too loud and too crowded for me. The food and service were good, but not good enough to outweigh the noise and right table spacing.
Bustling, tasty and charming meal before the Opera
Good but way to loud
Good food and service. Very noisy space
Tasty and fast. Make a reservation for Sunday brunch.
Food definitely exceeded expectations! Sooo good
Waitress was very good.
Went for brunch on Saturday morning, March 10th.
We had the cinnamon brioche pull-apart, French toast & eggs Benedict. Everything was delicious & the service was good!
Great place. Busy place but great service.
Amazing pancakes and french toast. Great tea. Awesome bathroom.
Breakfast today was absolutely lovely. Ordered simple breakfast and received exactly what was ordered straightaway. Service was excellent. Presentation was perfect. Everything worked well and supported a delightful birthday breakfast between friends.
IT IS WHAT IT IS. SIMPLE GOOD FOOD AND GREAT PLACE TO DINE BEFORE GOING TO LINCOLN CENTER. WAITER WAS GREAT. DRINKS ARE OVERPRICED. GREAT MAC AND CHEESE, QUALITY AND QUANTITY.
Our server was exceptional. She was very helpful and answered all of our questions.
Was in town to attend the taping of some shows at ABC studios. I did a quick search online for places close by to eat and The Smith was on top of the list with great reviews. I liked the menu and invited a friend to join me for brunch after the show had wrapped. I enjoyed my brunch there so much that I went again a few days later for lunch and the experience was top par! The food was incredibly delicious and the found the wait staff attentive and friendly. There was no long wait for the food either.
I definitely give 5 stars to the chef and everything that works there. What a great team and a delightful experience!
This is my favorite restaurant in my neighborhood! The food is outstanding but I am going to focus on the beverages. I am not a native New Yorker so the fact that most places didn't refill my iced tea shocked me when I came to NYC. The Smith DOES refill drinks and their tea is delicious every single time!!
Made a reservation for 1:30, was only able to sit at 2:15 (and it was only 2 of us, can only imagine how long it took them to sit larger parties). Insanely crowded, only 2 hosts to deal with probably 20 customers who’d been waiting for quite some time. They need to plan their bookings better, specially during brunch.
I hate when a restaurant over books and they are known for it even if the food is good it’s a reasonably ridiculous the way that they allow people that have reservations to sit there and wait shame on you
This place is the embodiment of greed. It has a horribly managed front of house. We had a reservation and did not get seated for 15 minutes after the reservation time. The late seating was the result of the place trying to accommodate walk ins on top of an extensive reservation list. The food was fine, though not amazing. Service was good, but they had way too many tables/chairs in the place, so one of our group was constantly being bumped by wait staff as she found her seat too far in their serving path. The noise level was deafening, so don’t bother trying to converse with your table mate not seated next to you. The staff was doing the best they could to make up for a horrible manager/owner intent on packing the most customers in the joint as possible. There are too many options to put up with this nonsense.
This is a very popular brunch location and the food was excellent. However, it was so busy that it was almost hard to enjoy — very loud and crowded.
The food was very good and the service was efficient. We had the halibut and salmon, both were very good and done correctly. It was pre theater for us so we appreciated the quick service. As always the noise level was far too high. It is was keeps us from eating here more often.
Good value for the Lincoln Center area. Comfort food and daily specials. Very busy on the weekends and better off making making a reservation. Very, very noisy. Good desserts!
Best Mac and Cheese ever.
Great choices for vegetarians.
Good location for pre show meal at Lincoln Center
Only negative is the high noise level.
Great food. Excellent service. Prompt seating with our reservation. Highly recommended.
Lively well-known restaurant - there are several in Manhattan. Can be noisy at times and reservations are highly recommended. The main differentiator is they try to be innovative in some of their dishes, like a breakfast pot pie for brunch or an excellent avocado toast. They seem to do well in the basics like a hamburger as well.
This was my first time here. I would totally recommend it. Food was great, so was the service. It was a bit loud and crowded, but we had a reservation and they sat us right away.
Went to lunch with 6 friends. When I made the reservation, I was asked if there was a birthday and the name. My friend was surprised with the special dessert of the house, on the house. Everything was delicious. The service was warm and attentive. My expectations were exceeded.
We had a wonderful time, as usual. The Smith never lets me down for a delicious meal with great service! It’s my go-to for a great meal when I have visitors in town.
Good food, not crazy prices, excellent service. But the extreme noise level makes the whole experience just not worth it.
Food wasn’t great. Mussels were too cooked.
My friend and I were seated immediately, albeit at an early time. We were able to move one table over where we could sit almost next to each other so we could hear each other better. We were also allowed to sit and sip wine for a while before placing our order. They offer a carafe of wine, which was very nice, and the entree we both had was delicious - bucatini with mushrooms and a side order of spinach. Wonderful experience.
Great restaurant for dinner before a show at Lincoln Center. Our waiter completely understood what our situation was and made sure we were out the door in time for the performance. A bit crowded and noisy, so this is not the place for intimate dining or relaxing conversation.
Thé Smith burger is reasonably priced and very very good. The fries are excellent too. Very nice place for dinner but very noisy and not a lot of space between the tables
My go-to spot for food before watching an opera or other show at Lincoln Center. Great food, locally sourced when possible, great service and great drinks!
The reviews were spot on! Great food, atmosphere, service:)
Visited The Smith multiple times at their various locations. Consistent quality service and food. This location is no different. Recommend.
Great service for a quick bite between two different performances at Lincoln Center. It's noisy, busy, upbeat and fun. All ages go there but most are young adults
Enjoyed every bite. Great desserts!
