Great meal. Unusual brunch offerings. But such a noisy place!
Smith's is always a first class experience. We had great food and fantastic service.
We had a wonderful evening in large part because of our terrific server, Kyle! The food is always good at The Smith and the evening was practically perfect because the service was top notch! We had a lovely birthday dinner.
Brunch with good friend I haven’t seen in years. We arrived 20 min late for our reservation but was all taken care of. Food was very good and service on spot even though very busy.
The placed was packed! Glad we has a reservation. The wait staff and front desk were friendly and professional. The avocado toast was tasty! Usual NYC prices. Easy walk from Central Park.
We had a table in the back room and it was great. As always food and service were exceptional.
Super crowded, very fun solid brunch food and Heroic dedicated masterful waitstaff -- just watching them do it all is a show in itself
Too much noise. I ordered a hamburger and it was not good.
Food was just OK and service was pretty good but the noise was very unpleasant and the overcrowding was awful. We will not go there again, even if we have a show at Lincoln Center as we did that night
Very convenient place to grab dinner before a show
It was so painfully loud in the room that we could not have a proper conversation. The food was fine, but yelling during dinner ruined the experience.
Excellent food, however it was so packed in the back that it was really hot and difficult to hear.
Was fine. Noisy and a little cold inside.
The restaurant was very crowded, for Saturday brunch, but the service and food were both very good
The sevice is always excellent and the waitstaff very friendly. The Smith is on the expensive side, especially for breakfast
Amazing food, attentive service. Can’t be beat!
Great food and attentive service. At 7 PM on a Saturday, it was a bit too loud for my taste. Also, it took 15 minutes past reservation time to get seated and we were on time. During the wait, there was really no good place to stand. They should probably get a beeper system and allow people to roam.
We and another couple had dinner here before theater on Friday night. Service is competent if somewhat uneven. Food is quite good, but not spectacular. We sat in a large room well in the back, which was a plus because it was quieter than the big room out front. Very noisy, so difficult to have a conversation. Nonetheless, a very good choice for pre-theater.
Menu was a little fussy. Vegetable bowl was mainly brown rice. Nothing on the menu I really wanted to Order. Loved everything about the environment. Hip, clean.
A dependably good meal in a convenient spot with a nice bistro-ish vibe. It does get a bit noisy when it's crowded at lunch. Not a place I'd go out of my way for, but for a while now it's been my first choice if I need to meet someone in the Lincoln Center area.
I had mussels and frites. Marvelous. My husband had special pork schnitzel. Not quite as
Marvelous. Sticky toffee pudding. Marvelous. Convenience to Lincoln Center. Can’t be beat. Always.
Food is ok but grilled chicken came out raw—not underdone but raw. How can kitchen let that happen? Main problem is the hustle to turn tables. We were sharing a plate of very good shellfish and servers tried twice to snatch away the platter when there were obviously 2 or 3 left. Noise level is beyond endurable. Our server was fine but the series of table helpers were surly and rude. We won’t return.
nice outdoor seating. Food was good and a reasonably varied menu. Excellent dessert. Enjoyable experience
I love The Smith!
Waiter wasn't very polite. Most at the table had never been to the smith, so he wasn't eager to share portion size or anything. He just had an attitude and was very short. We understand if someone has had a long day. But we were polite and respectful. We expected him to do the same.
Service was iffy, drinks were expensive and overly worked in a not-so appetizing way
Food was good and location cant be beat! I'd recommend after a show, but not otherwise
We were seated on the patio, I loved the ambiance of the street and the city. However, the restaurant itself was fell short of my expectations. The glasses and plates had smudges and fingerprints all over them and the food was nothing spectacular.
Food and cocktails outstanding.
Waiter was attentive ,even though the restaurant was very crowded.
This is a hot spot - apparently - for brunch on Sunday. We got there at noon for our reservations and the hostesses were handling the crowd very well, but there was quite a crowd. My guess is this is the place to be - or one of them - on a beautiful autumn Sunday. The food was very good but pricey of course - this is NYC after all. And the service was very good - I have to hand it to them navigating the crowads and the noise can't be easy for the wait staff. I'd recommend it but if you are looking for a quiet conversation with a brunch mate, this is not the place. It's more akin to a bar scene for young professionals. I have not been described as that for 20 years.
Great Sunday Brunch. One of the best in NYC. We will return next time in town.
Best place for breakfast in NYC. Great view and great location near Central Park
Our favorite place for brunch. Great atmosphere, great food, great service.
Great place for breakfast; amazing avocado toast! Lots of fun “extras” here, too, like the photo booth in the restroom area!
The food is good and the location is great—just in front of the Metropolitan Opera. The problem is service. My friend was given fries when she had asked for a salad. And the waiter was (I'm afraid to say) just not very friendly. I wonder if they are overworked, maybe that's not their fault.
Great place to have a pre-theater dinner. The food is delicious, service is good, and if the weather cooperates, the outside seating provides an excellent view of the Lincoln center. Enjoy!
Had reservation - arrived and the dining room was packed. However, to my surprise, we were seated within 2 min! We sat in the back dining room - a little strange to walk through parts of the kitchen to get there - but the dining space was totally fine. Being that it was very busy, was a little hard to get waiters attention but they were very good and accommodating. All 4 meals were excellent - 1 chicken pot pie (I will try to replicate at home 😊), 1 sea bass w/curry, 1 salmon and my husband had duck wings w/a side of smashed potatoes which was huge!
Good mix of drink selections too.
The Smith does not disappoint - very good food and excellent service.
Noisy but a fun place.
Not far from the Metropolitan Opera House and a great value for the money. Dined her in between shows on a Saturday afternoon. Our server was extraordinary with the recommendations for the table and her attention to anything that we needed. It was busy but at no time did we fell rushed. Will we dine here again...most definitely and will recommend it to friends.
Book a reservation to avoid the wait on Saturday during pre-show dinner time.
The menu is perfect for all the dinner guest, 8 to 80! The house wine is very good, service is wonderful, but it can be noisy. A must is the Mac and cheese- superb!!!
Great food and even better service!
