Great spot to entertain friends from out of town or celebrate a birthday or other milestones with friends. Great service, fresh and tasty food, comfortable seating and decent size tables. All around solid choice for a good meal with good friends.
Our waitress was extremely rude. She had an attitude. I asked her to repeat what she said for the special and she got rude towards me. Because of where we were seated we kept getting bumped and a glass broke and no one came to pick it up for over 15 min and no one asked if we were okay. There were too many tables packed into the back room. In addition to the above, our waitress didn’t give us two copies of our receipt so there was no where to sign on the ONE she provided to us and she became rude about it. It’s her fault that she didn’t print the receipts correctly. I was so taken back and disappointed as to how we were treated, it was appalling.
Great brunch with great service and food.
Seafood was great, Ribeye was mediocre at best. Thin and sort of rough.
I love this place. From the hostess Joey, to our server, and Becky the manager, everything was top notch. Great food, service, and atmosphere. It’s one of my favorite places.
This is my go to place for pre-opera dining. The food is excellent and the service cordial but efficient; no problem licking your curtain!
Great recommendation-try the roasted Brussel sprouts instead of the fries with your burger!!
Great atmosphere and delicious food. Felt a little rushed as main courses were brought out whilst we were still eating our starters so felt there was a little lack of attention but other than that we enjoyed the evening.
Not if you want to talk... it is unbelievably LOUD. Food is good and would be good for a celebratory night out... but intimate it is NOT!!
The food was fine but the restaurant was much too noisy: we could not hear each other. And it was very pricy.
Fantastic brunch - huge portions that kept me full all day and fantastic variety. There is something to suit everyone. Coffee was great too. Would thoroughly recommend!
We showed up late but they still sat us and I got my 100 pots on my reservation still. Appreciated that. The waitress was so kind since we were so indecisive on what to get because the menu was bigger then we thought. Food was delicious. I got the squid ink pasta. Would recommend and was the perfect amount of food. Really enjoy our night overall!
The waitstaff was really accommodating and kind. They didn’t rush us and were understanding when we let them know we were seeing a show across the street and would need to be out by a certain time.
Usually I love the Smith. The waiter we had this time was nice but not very attentive rice. We sat with dirty dishes on the table forever and had to flag him down for anything we needed. Not the usual service level.
Very good choice for dinner before a performance at Lincoln Center.
Awesome staff, food and ambiance
A friend told me about the food here and she was not wrong! If i could order everything on the menu i would have! The service was amazing. We got there early for the dinner portion of the night and they were nice enough to let us sit at or table and order a few drinks while we wait for the lunch rush to finish. If i wasn’t seeing a show after I would have stayed to order more or even dessert! I will definitely have to come back!
This Smith location is perfect for a quick bite before a show a Lincoln center. I recommend making a reservation, every member of your party showing up on time, to ensure you'll be seated and served promptly. The food came quickly, and was delicious, our waiter didn't miss a beat - refilling water and wine glasses - despite the busy hour. 10/10 would recommend for sure, especially right before a show :-)
Excellent fast service. Good food. Rather noisy environment made conversation challenging at times.
I was mistakenly seated at the wrong table. When the maitre'd realized that, he asked if I would mind sitting at another table. I gladly complied. To show his appreciation, he offered to buy me a drink and appetizer on the house. I found that unnecessary for an honest mistake, but I accepted his gesture. This to me was the sign of a class establishment. And oh yes, the food and service were excellent. (Not my first visit there). Last but not least, the waiter had been clued in on the comp, so I did not have to follow up once I received the check. I will be back again... and again.
Our waiter was very nice, and the food was surprisingly good. The restaurant is very noisy. Convenient to Lincoln Center.
One of our mainstays. The food and service are reliably very good.
I would recommend if you need a place within short walking distance of the Lincoln Center that has American fare. The Bar Steak was small and tough. Other wise, portion sizes are large, bar selections were deep and wide and the wait staff was friendly and responsive. Price tag here is a bit hefty. Chalked it up to the neighborhood and location. Sat inside and it was too noisy to hear much conversation. We walked across Broadway to David Geffen Hall. Very easy walk.
I had the Sea Bass it was Delicious. The Oysters are always great. I had The Cubano to drink. Can’t say enough about this place the service is fantastic.
I've been to The Smith a few times and every time is great. Great atmosphere, great service, and fanatastic cinnamon toffee brioche!
This was our first time eating inside as they are very accommodative of dogs outside. Great vibe, a little noisy, a little warm, but overall the ambience was nice. The wait staff was excellent ... had our alcohol ready for us when the legal time was reached. Eggs Benedict are a favorite, and they were prepared just right. We would have liked to linger longer to talk, but the place was packed, so we'd freed the table up. Very busy for brunch. Once it warms up, the outside seating is even better.
This place is far too loud for no reason. It wasn’t even busy and you have to shout. Our waitress forgot about us u til we literally cleared our own plates. Every dish is $10 overpriced. Not worth it
Food service and the energy make this place really appealing. An absolute must if you are near one of their locations. Bi bim bap is revelatory. Which is weird for a non Korean restaurant but trust me.
Visiting our daughter in New York and having dinner before the ballet.
Too loud but great food!
Discovered this restaurant about 3 months ago. Have since made it our go-to place for pre-concert dining near Lincoln Center. Always a difficult choice to decide what to eat. This last time, had a spicy salmon tartar appetizer that was creative and terrific and particularly worth mentioning. Specialty cocktails are innovative and satisfying. And even the house-made jumbo chocolate chip cookies were exceptional, with enough to take home for another day.
And we cannot forget to mention our server, Nicola. We always have good servers there, but somehow she just rose above on that particular evening.
Looking forward to returning soon.
Had brunch at The Smith at Lincoln Square on the west side of NYC. Noise level was very high, but like the energy. I ordered a scrambled egg ranchero with beans and avocado, it also had some kind of a waffle under the scrambled eggs. The waffle like bread was to charred and not very tasty, would not order again. My husband had the Sicilian eggs with tomato sauce and really like it. We had cocktails the were very good.
A bit too pricy for what you get.
We came here for brunch. The food was very good. They squeezed five of us at a table meant for four. It was a little difficult to eat but we were mostly content just to be seated & eating. The hostess was great, the waiter was great - everyone seemed very pleased to be there. It was just a little too crowded.
Our seating was perfect. They were able to seat me before my other party arrived. The service was excellent!
Great spot. Don’t be shy to speak up in there. And bring a few bucks!
Food was the best and overall service was awesome I would recommend this place to anyone my Valentine’s Day here was great
Great time great service great food
My friend and I came here for a Galentines day dinner. The food was absolutely delicious, we got the skillet Mac and cheese and the brick pressed chicken . The Mac and cheese was phenomenal and really filling so we could barely finish our main entree. The mashed potatoes and the chicken were both also excellent and made great leftovers lol. The service was quick, and the restaurant itself is super cool with even cooler surprises. Definitely an amazing experience and will definitely be returning with more friends. My only regret was not getting dessert!
Good service. Good food
Great meal and truly top notch service. We were seated about 15-20 minutes past our reservation, but were treated to a complimentary appetizer and cookies to take home! A truly great experience in hospitality.
