Everything was amazing! Service ambience location.
Rude hostess, indifferent waitress ..food was great, we enjoyed the experience but never once felt like we were anything more than a number. Staff should be coached to mask their disdain for the customer a bit. This was our 3rd ...and last time here.
It was so loud in there, very hard to hear the conversation at my own table. Great food though and a bit overpriced.
One of the better brunch spots on the UWS. I would highly recommend!
Food was excellent. Atmosphere was very interesting. Service was a bit slow and at times inattentive. However, overall experience was perfect for our post- Lincoln Center dinner.
Loved the complimentary still and sparkling water. Our food cake very quickly. The coconut curry was delicious. My husband’s short rib pasta was AMAZING. The complimentary bread is okay. Overall, would 100% go back!
Wait time longer than anticipated and service was a bit slow but food was very good
Food was great as always, but felt rushed to get out of there even at 9:30pm. Tight tables, loud, waited a bit for our reservation, but all expected on a busy Friday night.
The Burgers and fries are delicious!! The restaurant was crowded so the service wasn’t that great. We would have all liked another drink with dinner.....at least there was water on the table.
Consistently great food and very accommodating waiters.
We had the most fantastic experience at this restaurant. We were running late for our reservation and for a show; they saved us a table and had us out in time for the show. The food was outstanding, the staff was attentive and we had a wonderful evening.
We went to the Smith after going to Lincoln Center. Very convenient and they have the best coffee!!! Advacado toast is delicious.
We came from breakfast and the food was amazing! I had the french toast. Service is outstanding and a lovely atmosphere. Will be returning when I’m next in New York.
Great service and overall good experience. We had a large group out for late-night meal and networking- all had an enjoyable experience thanks to the capable staff and varied menu.
We had a reservation for a birthday dinner, but, after seating, discovered that the noise level was just too much and we were seated at a table with cafe chairs that were very uncomfortable. I had requested a booth. We left and went to another restaurant.
The restaurant was very attentive to our need to eat in 45 minutes in order to make the opera in time. Kudos to their wait staff.
The Smith never disappoints! From the friendly host staff to the always gracious waiters, especially Evan, to the wine and food, everything is always perfect! There is something for everyone on this menu, and some of my favorites are the innovative egg dishes for brunch, kale salad, steak salad (upgrade to filet mignon), short rib pasta, s’mores in a jar, and I could go on and on! Terrific mac & cheese (there must be a southerner in the kitchen).
This location, like the others in NYC, is always crowded, but the service never seems rushed. It can be loud at peak times, so keep that in mind. They are very accommodating to parties with children, as well.
The Smith is a first-class restaurant without the attitude!
Very loud, too loud, service great, they cram the tables in.
the burgers are absolutely delicious and the service is wonderfully attentive and opleasant
and love the free sparkling mineral water
if only it weren't so noisy - not a place for quiet conversation - not a place for almost any conversation
and so conveniently located to Lincoln Center!
Conveniently located by Lincoln Square, an ideal spot pre-opera, ballet or philharmonic. Fast service, tasty & an energetic ambience. Recommended.
It was great. Waitress was very helpful with wine selection and recommendations.
Wonderful brunch! Great cocktails. Delicious menu. Excellent service. A complete experience.
Great service , food and atmosphere .
Would definately return if O can back to NewYork
Birthday. It was excellent
Appetizers were delicious, entree was good, dessert were mediocre. The atmosphere is fun and the place is lively and very very noisy.
Too much noise. Tables too near of each other. NO SPACE to walk around !!!!
Table is too crowded. About 25% of the table is with cutlery, 2 water bottles, glasses, and candle? I was afraid to knock out something to the floor.
Don’t sit at a table near the door; it’s freezing and you’re constantly jostled by waitstaff and patrons.
Food was great! Staff, friendly. Noisy, though, so keep that in mind if you need a quieter place to chat. Great location, too. Will be back!
Consistently the best restaurant in the area. A perfect pick for pre- or post-theater or movies.
Overall experience was okay. The party at our table at the time of our reservation was not done by the time of the start, but also one of our members was late and so they were accomodating of seating 2 of the 3 of us once the table was ready. Seafood was tasty but vegetables were drenched in oils and sauces and overpriced. Oil was heavy and left a bad feeling in my stomach. I had indicated when I made the reservation that I had food allergies and when I asked 1 or 2 questions the waitress acted annoyed that I was asking anything at all instead of just ordering. Were put at table closest to the double doors and every time the doors opened we were hit with a draft. Too loud and cold, but otherwise okay ambiance-wise. Hot tea and coffee with good tea selection helped. Would not go back.
The food was spectacular, the wait staff was extremely nice, and the restaurant had a great feel to it
Great consistent food, attentive staff!! Be prepared to “rub elbows” and project your voice- but I keep going back. Really good food and service!!
Despite the Thanksgiving crowd, and the long wait, the staff tried their best to make us feel ok. Hussein (our server) was great. I recommend this place.
See our private note. They may have done their best. Which isn’t good enough.
Beautiful food and lovely service! We were an hour early and offered to wait till our time but they seated us right away! It was a wonderful place to have thanksgiving dinner!
Im very satisfied with my experience at the smith.
The food and service was excellent!
Food was incredible! My 18 yr old daughter said it was the best meal she’s ever had! Wait staff very attentive to us even on the busy Thanksgiving holiday! Waiter accommodated my Mom who didn’t care for her main entree selection when it arrived at the table. No questions asked and bright her another selection within minutes. Amazing place!
great service and food , atmosphere good. portions were very big, but it was a fixed price.
The service was speedy and efficient considering it was a busy thanksgiving evening, it appeared clean, and tables were wiped as soon as customers left.
The pumpkin soup was the star of the thanksgiving meal,
Majority of the food including the soup (apart from the mac cheese) was warm and not piping hot, We were hungry ( as we had not eaten all day in order to savour the feast) therefore we did complain, but left most of the main , Disappointed overall as this was our first experience of a thanksgiving meal, We had been really looking forward to the experience as part of our holiday to New York from the UK
