They gave us a special table for our anniversary and the food was fantastic!
Had dinner here before going to the opera. It was just right. My new go-to pre-theater restaurant prices we reasonable (for NYC), the food was tasty, and service friendly. Will return.
Overpriced. Food just average. Burgers were on the small side
Last minute decision to grab a bite in between dr appts. Pleasant surprise!!
A quality foodie experience with a variety of choices. I especially like the ricotta gnocchi and squid ink seafood pasta. There are so many great options. Don't miss out on the Sticky toffee pudding for dessert. It's authentic and delicious. Worth every calorie!!
Much too noisy to be enjoyable, I understand why people were eating outside in their winter coats. Unable to talk to person next to me to say nothing of across the table., Food and service were fine, but noise wins out in the end. One of our guests was s bothered by noise level she did not even stay for brunch.
Service was great. Food was a little cold. Coffee was great
I live outside the City and whenever there's need for a gathering/dining spot, The Smith is always the choice. It's fun & lively, the wait staff is always good and the location of the one at Lincoln Square is easily accessible. I'm not a big meat eater but the Burger Royale there is always delicious. Otherwise, everyone I've always been with has enjoyed the restaurant and whatever they've eaten as well. If there's one thing to pick on it would be the noise. The tiled walls reflect a LOT of sound.
We love the Smith. The cream grits, fresh oysters, short ribs are extraordinarily delicious. It’s convenient to Lincoln Center and pre-Opera dining choice.
The Smith is a very convenient restaurant for Lincoln Center, so naturally it is very busy and very noisy. The food is good and the wait staff very efficient, but the ambiance detracts from the experience and inappropriate for the price charged. Having said that, I would recommend this restaurant for less busy times.
Miserable experience. Avoid before theatre. Will not go back.
Food was interesting, but the place was too crowded and much too noisy
Definitely our favorite late night Lincoln Center spot to grab a bite. Thanks for taking care of us as ever.
This place is always my go to. I usually eat here for brunch once a week- table of 1. Then when I have guests in town we come 1-2 times for dinner. I never feel rushed and all the food is always on point.
Excellent food and friendly service
Service was running behind and not attentive to our table
We loved it. Great food, service, atmosphere. Would definitely return. Best mussels.
The first time we had breakfast at The Smith was so great, my mom is celiac so she has to eat gluten free and the waitress was really kind! Frankly, the food is amazing but unfortunately, the second time we went there, maybe the manager, wasn’t really nice and asked us to give a really big tip! When? How? Where do you do this?! He ruined the good points!
This is our go-to place whenever we go to Lincoln Center. The food is excellent, the service is fast and the atmosphere is festive.
We waited almost a half hour to be seated for a 6pm reservation. They completely ignored us so Threw our hands up in the air and left.
Excellent food, drinks, and service! The Smith never disappoints. My daughter and I squeezed one last delicious NY meal right before heading to the airport. We took a risk and it payed off. We were able to enjoy a great meal and were in and out of there in record time to make our flights. Highly recommend.
Great location, excellent food & service!
Went for brunch and was blown away by the service AND the food. Was torn between the waffles and the pancakes and without missing a beat, the waiter said “get the pancakes and I’ll bring both sets of toppings.” He did this free of charge and the pancakes were AMAZING - as were the eggs Benedict. Can not wait to come back!
Food and service is always great. Consistent soot
We hat a flat bread app. It was delicious. I had the muscle pot it was amazing. My wife had short rib pasta . She loved it
Loud and crowded after the marathon. Service was surprisingly good considering the crowd. Overall my party was pleased with the food I had the shrimp and grits which was disappointing.
Yes Definitely will return for Brunch! It was awesome. We had several people in our party including vegetarians. Very good choices.
The most wonderful and friendly service. Food is always amazing. We both had the smoked salmon toast which is always great. Best place for food any time.
Very loud and tight restaurant but food and drinks were terrific would definitely go back but would sit outside. Nice bar as well.
Incredible food and cocktails! Will absolutely be back next time I’m in NY.
Consistently good food and service. Best value in the area.
The only thing this place has going for it is its location near Lincoln Center. Although we were seated promptly, a server didn't appear for more than 10 minutes. At least that gave us the opportunity to meet the people at the tables on either side of us, since they were practically in our laps. The menu is limited. We chose the seared tuna salad. The slaw part of it was okay, but the tuna certainly not sushi-grade ahi. The major problem was the noise level, which was like being at the 50th St subway stop when an uptown 2 and a downtown 3 go by at the same time. Conversation was impossible, and not helped by the incessant drumbeat of the background "music." "Energetic?" More like "cacaphonous." Never again.
Had a great time! We were seated right away and everyone was friendly and welcoming. Our food came quickly and the mac & cheese was AMAZING! We'll definitely be back soon:)
Tables were extremely cramped and too many items on the actual table to enjoy a meal. Food used to be good, not anymore. Mediocre at best. Kids meals are also very expensive and to be charged an additional $4 for a small cup of milk is beyond me. Come back down to reality The Smith. Also, your waitstaff was hardly around to be of any help.
We had brunch on Saturday and both had the Vanilla Bean French Toast. Although the restaurant was crowded and noisy, the food and service were excellent.
Perfect for pre-Lincoln Center events; food is very good, waiters and attentive but not overly so; service is smooth and responsive. Downsides; it's noisy and tables are a bit tight.
Favorite go-to in NYC
