The food was amazing. Our waiter Kevin was friendly and attentive.
Food was very good, but the service was outstanding!
Always a great meal here! Super packed all the time, so be sure to make a reservation. Hot potato chips are not to be missed!
The Smith is a very consistent dining experience. Every time I go, the food is delicious, good service, and just a general great experience. I had the sea bass after seeing it on a neighboring table and those guests recommending it. I was delicious and a very different dish- sea bass with brussels sprouts, spaghetti squash and a light cream sauce. I always love going here- the macaroni and cheese is fantastic also!
Conveniently located across the street from Lincoln Center, The Smith is a loud, raucous, energetic, bustling, fun restaurant -- like the other 2 locations in NYC I have visited in NOMAD and 2nd Ave. The menu is lots of ample sized portions of comfort food -- so many choices it was difficult to pick. For appetizers we chose ribs and fried calamari -- both good. As it was Wednesday night I chose the Blue Plate Special -- the fried chicken with waffles -- crispy, very moist and basically boneless served with pepper maple syrup. It was delicious. My partner ordered the Smith Burger which was served with a pile of crispy fries too large for either of us to finish. The hot fudge Sunday was enormous and looked wonderful at the next table. Two bottles of complimentary water were placed on the table -- one fizzy, one flat -- and the waiter took care to keep them filled all night long. One of the best waiters I have ever met!
The pastrami coated salmon was excellent as well as the red cabbage mixture underneath. The noise level at 5:30 was horrendous.
Enjoyed dinner and breakfast! Highly recommend for both!
The staff was wonderful and the food was delicious.
Right across from Lincoln Center so very practical if you are catching a performance. Staff very friendly and accommodating. Large selection on the menu. Starters are a good option if you want to have a lighter meal. As a large place, somewhat noisy but that is the case in lots of NY places now ;-(
The Smith is directly across the street from Lincoln Center. I had the sea bass it was DEElicius! My husband had the short rib ragu over cavatelli... DEElicious! I also got there Pool Party drink it was grapefruit and gin and refreshing and hit the spot. Tables are close together and it is not very quiet, but it is a true bistro. I would consider it casual dining but there was nothing casual about the food! I loved it and will go again. It is also 3 blocks from the 1,2,3 train so easy to get to from Penn Station!
The food and service were both great, highly recommend it!
family celebration...went with our 2 kids. i got the special, slow cooked pork. although not terrible, it was extremely greasy and gave me a stomach ache. just never been a fan of the food here.
Dining with 3 young girls before a Shen Yun performance at Lincoln Center. Location, food, service and atmosphere were all perfect for the occasion. So easily accessible, and even though busy, we were seated within 5min of arriving. Will definitely dine there again.
Wish you had French onion soup on the menu!
Very relaxed and casual atmosphere!!
My husband and I came here before a show for an early dinner and we both were impressed how fast and efficient the service was. I ate one of the best burgers I’ve ever had, it was juicy and moist and super flavorful. We definitely will go back again when visiting Lincoln Center!
A little crowded, a little chaotic, but really good food and a fun bar. Reasonably priced. Will go again for casual lunches or a drink.
Very friendly staff. Quick service and good food. Fair pricing
The Smith -Lincoln Square is more of a fast food place. One gets large plates of whatever is ordered. On a Sunday it's exceptionally crowded and noisy. I would think going during the work week might be better for those who are interested. The service is very quick as there are lots of waitstaff.
Nice place, fast service, good place for brunch before a show at Lincoln Center
Sunday Brunch. Place was packed so reservations recommended... service was great (friendly and helpful)... Food was good. I had a Sicilian baked eggs thing that was ok, tho 2 of the 3 eggs were over cooked so the yolks did not spill out. Dang
Kudos to the hostess, who read our note that we were coming from jazz at Lincoln center and still had our table waiting 35 minutes past the reso!
Went here for the first time on a recommendation from a client. Totally worth it. Had 730 reservations was taken promptly and greeted quickly. Food was fantastic and service was great. Would reccomend to all. Truly great experience
The meal was outstanding it was my birthday and my husband and I truly enjoyed ourselves.
Fantastic food, fantastic server, fantastic people!
Food is always good. Very loud but we could still hear each other.
So glad we had made a Pre-Opera Reservation on Open-Table. This Saturday evening the bar and restaurant was very busy, we were delayed in seating and had drinks at the bar. The bartenders were quick to attend to patrons and shared the space evenly. We were finally seated and assured we could be out in times for our show and their prediction was correct. We dined on salads, salmon, shrimp, sea bass and short ribs. The presentation and portions were good and the food delicious. We saved some room for their giant fresh and warm chocolate chip cookies, yummy! The crowd was lively and pleasant. Enjoy!
Truly liked the food and rum punch was very tasty. Seating can be a little cramped. But I liked where we sat. Staff is exceptional, nice, professional and accommodating. Loved it and they do not rush you out.
Took a chance. Glad we did. Great food and atmosphere. Reservations best for before shoes as the area fills up quckly. Good location and view of Lincoln Center with subway and parking very close.
Brunch on a Saturday was a nightmare. I ordered the ranchero scramble and they put it on top of a blueberry waffle instead of a blue corn waffle. Disgusting! The restaurant was mayhem.
Everything was excellent at the smith. No complaints. My son loved it also
The service was great, our waitress was very patient and attentive. The food was great, everything was well seasoned and locally farmed ingredients made the experience even better.
Delicious food, friendly/quick service, diverse menu options, great menu and cocktails
Great food, great service. Great for before heading to Lincoln center.
Family dinner before going to a show. Food was great overall but some dishes were on the salty side. Mac and cheese and calamari sides were to die for!
Server was terrific and so was the food. We were going to Lincoln Center for a show and it was a perfect night!
Great service and great menu options. Food comes out superquick and is super delicious. Hostess seated us right away and we were even early for a reservation. I brought some guests from out of town who wanted some authentic American cuisine.
Always solid service and food !
Not a place to go for a quiet meal as a couple. Very lively. Dine with a group to enjoy it
Good food, service, front desk greeting, nice menu. All around nice place.
This is a very basic looking restaurant, so if ambiance is what you are looking for, this place is not it. I did like my pork chop a lot, as it was well cooked but still juicy. The biggest drawback to The Smith is the noise level, which is fine if you like to yell over your food. If, however, decibel levels are something you care about, this is not the place for you. The decor is very casual, and the price is moderately high for what you get.
