My boyfriend and I went for brunch during the Coronavirus outbreak just to get out of the house. The food was great, people were still out having brunch as well. We just made sure we were very cautious by washing our hands and sanitizing. The wait staff used wipes to wipe down the tables and chairs. We felt very comfortable.
The smith is me and my boyfriend’s favorite restaurant! The service and food are always impeccable and it’s truly one of our favorite date spots and go-to.
We have eaten at The Smith in several of their locations. The food is consistently good - particularly the crispy brussel sprouts!! The service is always good. It can get a bit loud but this time we had a booth so it was easy to have a conversation without yelling. It's on my list of "go to" restuarants!
We always have a great meal and time at the Smith. Celebrated my beautiful daughter's birthday and we all had a grand old time!
Lovely meal and they were very accommodating to our toddler
The atmosphere was nice (interesting, clean, etc), the staff was excellent, especially Bernadette, attentive without being overbearing, accommodating, and pleasant. Helped us enjoy two courses and get out in time for our show. Food was all very good and had flair in both appearance and taste. Will go again. Hoping for 3 courses so we can try dessert.
If you're looking to take friends from out of town out to a fun NY dinner that's delicious with great drinks and a good atmosphere, this is the spot.
It was great. Food is always stellar and the service is fast. One of my favorite neighborhood spots to grab a bite!
The Smith is always reliable, well made and tasty food at reasonable prices.
Our service was amazing. It was a little rocky seating such a large party initially, but they did everything they could to accommodate us and when they realized we had two elderly people in our party, they switched things around to make it easier for them to enjoy brunch. Phenomenal team.
Consistently good, brunch, lunch, dinner, it’s a neighborhood favorite
Very pleased with the experience.
Food is always fast and good no matter how busy it is.
Ordered filet which was a tiny airline sized piece of meat on a plate overflowing with shoestring fries. Needless to say, it was disappointing.
The food and service are excellent! The old cubano drink is very good.
Nothing special way too crowded and way to noisy!!! Service was ok
Our neighbourhood go-to. We love the Smith!
It was great. I had the bar steak medium rare and it literally melted in my mouth. It was perfectly grilled. My wife had a Caesar salad and broccolini. Delicious. Then I had ice cream for dessert. Superb. Resto was busy but we were there early so it was no problem at all.
Never a disappointment at The Smith
The food is to die for, yummy, healthy. If you have reservation, your wait time in minimal. Kids loved it as well. I definitely would go back,
Great place for brunch, we had a big group and it was a to of fun! Shrive was great Accommodated all of our gf needs.
The food and the service was excellent!!!
Very good food and ambience. Our server was wonderful and looked after my wife’s gluten allergy very weekly assiduously.
We’ll be back!
Fun and welcoming staff. Food was amazing! Ordered the gnocchi. Kept me full!
What I always object to about The Smith at Lincoln Center is the noise level, and The Smith East Village, although smaller, is not much different. We got there early and it was fairly quiet, but by the time we finished our meal, we couldn't hear ourselves.
Good food and service, thought that it was the right time to come in at 6pm, before it got a bit noisy. Acoustics could be better.
Service was great - very helpful with our gluten sensitive and celiac folks - 3 of us ordered the special Sicilian eggs. They were ok but very over cooked, spinach was charred. I couldn’t chew the edges of the egg, not edible.
First time going, will be back. Food is a little pricey but when you see the portions it’s worth it.
This is my 3rd time at The Smith. They never disappoint! I had a 1:15 reservation and ran late due to parking issues. They were able to accommodate us right away when we showed up 20 min. Late. The food, drinks and service was impeccable. Will definitely be back!
Met my cousin here for brunch last Sunday. It was excellent. First, the brunch cocktails are a must! I had a pomegranate blend drink which was delicious and perfect with my meal. The service was perfect - our server was so nice, friendly and helpful. The food is incredible. I had an omelette made to order which was soo good. The pancakes with marscapone and caramel were amazing! Loved The Smith and would highly recommend!
Another visit, this time with out of town friends after a walkabout through the East Village. The restaurant was perfect for this occasion. We arrived almost an hour early, and were seated right away. Cocktails were delicious and prompt, and the bread was readily refilled. Appetizers: caeser salad, mac & cheese, shishito peppers. Nothing was left. My dinner was the pork chops with jalepeno grits, the pork was perfect, and my mouth is watering over the grits as I write this. The others had steak frites and filet mignon, and everyone was very pleased with their orders. Service remained attentive, though as we lingered over the dessert, the host did pass the table several times taking notes, and we did feel a bit of pressure to leave. It was a great night, and I was especially happy it met the expectations of our guests.
Food is always great! Accommodating, quick service.
The staff is very nice. We were seated on time. Several waitstaff walked past us without stopping or even making eye contact. Then one dropped off water. Eventually a different person showed up to take our order. Took about 15 minutes for 2 cocktails to arrive. But the real problem was the food. This place is quite expensive for the neighborhood. The short rib daily special ($34) was not good. Actually tough! Virtually no sauce. Had to use a knife, almost asked for a steak knife to manage it. Spouse did like her salmon. Also, it's pretty loud. We won't go again.
Stopped in for brunch while on a brief vacation. Had oysters, bloody Mary’s, the French toast with a side of maple sausage, and the short rib has with grits. Most incredible meal I’ve had in a long time. Service was great. Tables are a little cramped and the place is quite loud but totally expected since the food is so amazing.
I had a great time, didn’t really had to wait at all and the service was on point. Me and my date really enjoyed it.
Consistently delicious food, extraordinary service, and awesome ambiance. What a great experience with this classic, american bistro
Love this place, never disappoints and easy for a big party with a bunch of different dietary needs.
They were completely indulgent. The service - and our server, Jess - were exceptional. As a matter of course they brought bottles of water and seltzer to the table. They let me taste wines. Our dishes were fabulous and interesting. It was great.
The Breakfast Pot Pie and Jhonny Benedict are a must try. And these go extremely well with their Mimosas. Looking forward to visit this place again.
