About The Six - Studio City
The Society of Six was an influential community of six artists in Northern California during the 1920′s prohibition era. At their cabin, known as “The Chow House,” these six closely-knit artists enjoyed creating art with their home-made meals, brews and wines. The Six, established in 2010, was inspired by the “Society of Six” and in its honor we have created this rustic American experience to share unpretentious cuisine that is appealing to everyone. We have brought to our neighborhood a cozy atmosphere that is affordable and accessible to everyone. The restaurant’s décor is built using primarily recycled materials. Classic cast iron skillets and rustic wood planks are often used to serve our delicious locally sourced fare. Our streamlined menu emphasizes the concept of “six”; choose from six exciting starters, six savory entrees, six red wines, six white wines, six brews on tap & six desserts.

The Six - Studio City Ratings and Reviews
We tried this place for the first time on a Saturday night and were not disappointed. Atmosphere was great, the live music was a nice touch and not too loud. It was a nice indie loungy kind of sound perfect for a date night atmosphere. The food was great too. I had the Drunken Burger which was ridiculously good and my husband had the red snapper (the chef’s special of the night). The truffle fries were fantastic.
The only thing that could make this place better is a full bar, but the wine we had was quite good. I recommend this place for date nights and gatherings with friends. It’s not overly pretentious and the service was friendly. I would recommend a reservation though for weekend nights. It was packed.
Very good as always excerpt Saturday night noise level was out-of-control LOUD and the turkey burger was;t particularly good. (I've had much better at The Six!) As for the noise, we'd brought my 89-year-old mother, visiting from Chicago, so maybe this wasn't a place to have taken her own a Saturday night. But my wife and I recall it being much less loud in prior visits.
I was really looking forward to the brunch, but was disappointed? We were a group of 10 for brunch. The service was slow and not very friendly. The waiter did tell us they had run out of the prepared food and were making the appetizer. After 50 minutes of sitting, we received the food and then the appetizer. My plate was cold and bland. I was really looking forward to the unusual combination of the rice bowl, but I didn't even taste the kimchi. A couple of people did like their food, but most said it was just fair. We had to ask for the bill twice and the 20% gratuity was already added. Perhaps they were having an off day?
Although the food took quite some time to prepare, the service was fantastic and it was the best meal we had our during our stay in California. We appreciated that our son could enjoy a gluten free, dairy free pizza that did not taste like cardboard. It was AMAZING!
We came here for NYE dinner. The hostess immediately let us know that they had a 2 hour window turn over on the table - which kind of let a bad taste in my mouth. It's NYE, I get it but let your guests enjoy themselves. We were led to a table that behind the bar. One of my guests kept getting bumped my servers because he was seated a few feet away from there register. Another issue; the chairs. They obviously wanted to book as many people as they could but I didn't enjoy sitting on outdoor picnic chairs while I saw plenty of other people sitting on wooden chairs (we sat indoors). The food was pretty good. My favorite was the white pizza with mushroom. The peach tarts was flavorful. The rest of our meal with pretty average. The gnocchi had an odd texrure and was hard to identify. I wish NYE wasn't my first experience with this restaurant because I felt like things were too rushed. Not the best impression was left on us.
This was my first visit to The Six. It's very informal and a good place for comfort food and a beer with an old friend. Their menu consists of 6 pizzas, 6 flatbreads, 6 sandwiches, 6 salads, 6 beers on tap, etc. It would be hard not to find something to enjoy munching with a drink.
Everything was very good, but my friend and I were at a small table and still had to yell to be heard. I think the more crowded and louder the restaurant gets, the music should be turned down accordingly. It's tough to compete with the crowd noise, but that combined with loud music is too much. The food and service were great as always. I love The Six, and I go there fairly frequently and recommend it to everyone.
The service was good but the food very subpar considering the price point, we had to return our flat bread as the dow was uncooked on half of it and the appetizers (cauliflowers and mac&cheese) were overly salted.
The atmosphere was nice but will not go back
It was a night of fun, laughter, food, drinks and live entertainment for my girlfriends and I on a Friday. We love that the performers interacted with everyone. Very friendly vibe from the performers to our wait staff. We even won a free dessert! The location was perfect. This is the fifth time that I have been here with friends and business associates. Look forward to many more.
