I have had over a dozen meals at the Silver Spoon; this is first time I can’t give them a stellar review. My friend and I met for lunch and ordered the lobster bisque and a grilled turkey sandwich. Neither of these was hot enough. In fact we sent the sandwich back because it was cold in the center and the cheese hadn’t melted. They were very helpful and gave us a new and hot sandwich. The soup was delicious, however, this too was only warm, not hot. Even though I had these complaints, I will continue to come back because in the past I’ve only experienced good food. Maybe it was an off day.
We are always impressed by the quality and creativity of the food here, everything is always delicious and a real "cut above." Michael, who served us, is welcoming, attentive and impeccably professional.
The food was good but a little over priced. We had great service with a helpful staff and a nice place to connect with friends
It is a great place for dinner and they V get bonus points for being a byob!!!!
This was perfect dinner on a quiet Tuesday night...I just didn’t feel like cooking. As always, Silver spoon delivered from app to dessert. Their new seasonal menu was great, loved their lobster bisque, and especially the ‘cod in paper’ main. Pumpkin ice cream for dessert was fantastic! Great dinner with awesome service!
Everything was wonderful, as always!
Good food, limited menu ambience lacking.
As always a great meal and great service from Jenna and Michael.
Michael is an outstanding host/server for a special evening
Food is always excellent and fresh. You feel like you are eating at a best friends kitchen table. A friend who is also a great chef.
This is a nice restaurant in an upscale shopping center. The food is fresh and tasty. My friend ordered a chicken sandwich. There was nothing special about the bread, the presentation. The homemade potato chips were nicely done, but again, nothing special. I ordered the beet salad. Although the flavors of the beets, the pepitas and the balsamic glaze worked well together, it was not served over a bed of greens, which I had expected. I was presented with a mound of beets. It felt more like a side dish than an entree. Looking at the other diners plates, I felt they were all "sparse", or should I say "skimpy" portions. Our $30 bill or a sandwich and beets, certainly did not leave me wanting to return. The food is good and the atmosphere is nice. Just don't expect much for your money.
The food was fabulous! I started with a golden beet salad served with smoked goat cheese and so many other delicious flavors. I don’t even care for beets, but would order this again and again. I usually order fish when dining out, but this chicken was so flavorful and tender. The couscous was delicious.
Of course the donuts and chocolate truffles were a perfect way to end this perfect meal. Thank you.
Nice lunch. Had to wait a while to be served -- restaurant was busy at 12:30. Pretty limited menu, not much in the way of salads.
Love the Silverspoon but the food isn’t what it used to be
Food and service excellent. Michael is a real asset to Silverspoon as a server. Very loud room. Hard to hear each other.
I was supposed to meet a friend here for Saturday brunch; as I was walking in, my friend texted that she wasn't going to make it, but I decided to stay and try it anyway. Keeping in mind that dining alone is often a very different experience from dining with others (timing, service can be very different when you're by yourself), here's my take. The restaurant is clearly very popular and was quite crowded - it's not very big, so felt a little cramped and was quite noisy. My server, Jenna, was a bit slow to arrive, but from there on was attentive and helpful. I ordered the roasted tomato eggs Benedict, which sounded intriguing and were recommended by Jenna. When they arrived (quickly, especially given how busy the kitchen must have been), I was delighted to see that they know how to poach an egg properly - you'd be surprised how few kitchens can do that! Imagine my disappointment, then, to discover that the only thing on my plate that was actually hot was the breakfast potatoes side dish. The eggs were cold, the Hollandaise was cold, the English muffins had been pre-toasted (I'm guessing), but the biggest issue was that the roasted tomatoes were not just cold, they were STONE cold - dumped on the muffins straight out of the refrigerator, I'd say. When you see the phrase "fire-roasted," I think it's reasonable to expect that this would be done as part of the order preparation, not as something done in advance. I told Jenna about this issue - I did not want to make a huge fuss, as the *flavor* of the dish was delicious, and didn't expect as a result to have anything comped on my bill (after all, I did eat the eggs), but it was a surprisingly poor showing on the kitchen's part. I have to say that I don't think I'll be going back any time soon.
The food is great; absolutely delicious! A must try for visitors, or locals! You must try the truffle fries, the memory of them keeps me coming back!
Always love the food and welcoming owners at The Silverspoon! Thank you.
Have enjoyed Sunday Brunch here several times and never disappointed. Food well prepared and always an interesting selection. Servers attentive and well informed of menu. If I lived closer, I'd be there weekly. Thank you!!
The food was delicious only surpassed by the exceptional service provided by Michael.
Highly recommend Silverspoon.
great spot to meet friends for lunch. nice menu - everyone enjoyed.
Phylly and I had a super delightful dinner with Mikey giving us better than swell service asusual. This place is the best well kept secret in Philly and hopefully will stay that way forever. Thanks for the wine Mikey! Good stuff!
FOOD MENU UNEXCITING - FOOD SAME - WOULD NOT BE A PLACE I WOULD "RUN BACK TO EAT
Birthday dinner. Service was extremely slow. We were seated at 6:05 and didn’t receive our check until 8:20pm
Our server was amazing! Food was great! Will totally be back!
Great meal! Enthusiastic waiter, Michael, described the meals perfectly making our decisions easy. Interesting menu items but not so "out there" that a less adventurous diner would have trouble finding something great to order. Menu items are somewhat limited --which, to me, means they do what they do well! Nice size restaurant with good ambiance. We have been here before for brunch--also delicious. Would not hesitate to recommend.
The service and food are always great. Delicious!
Great brunch BYOB
The food is absolutely fabulous - it is fresh, different and delicious. Service is quick and friendly - the menu and specials are explained and all questions are answered. We have enjoyed having Jen as our server on several occasions and it is a pleasure! She is so engaging and so helpful - she certainly is an asset to The Silverspoon. I would highly recommend it - we were just there for brunch. I have a delicious omelette and my friends enjoyed chicken and waffles. We also had dessert which was fantastic. I would strongly urge reservations. It got pretty crowded and there were people waiting.
Have been here frequently for lunch and always enjoyed the food and service is excellent
This little gem keeps getting better and better. Today I selected a new item on the lunch menu--lobster roll! Yummy! I'm never disappointed in the food or service.
Had the lobster salad which was excellent. Great place to meet someone. Main restaurant open to outdoors on nice day.
Every time I dine at The Silver Spoon, I enjoy the menu selections, but I must tell you that every time I am disappointed in the amount of salt used. It is highly unnecessary! Sometimes I have told the waiter or waitress or the hostess, but it does not make a difference. I think in the future when a friend suggests eating there, I will decline.
Sorry...I want to be supportive of your presence on the Main Line!
I chose the Silverspoon for lunch on my birthday with my husband and parents. I like that it’s BYOB and I could bring a bottle of champagne. My parents both had the lobster sandwich, I had the frittata and my husband had the BLT. Everything was delicious. Robbie was friendly and attentive. I recommend The Silverspoon for lunch and dinner. Great menu options and friendly people in a lovely atmosphere.
It was lovely
It was the night breezes, the open doors, the patrons and the food that made this a wonderful dining experience. Service from Michael was unique which added to a perfect night.
5 Stars. Food, service, ambiance was perfect as always. Would recommend for any occasion. And it is BYO!
Awesome service! Awesome food! The only reason for lack of 5 stars across the board is that the tables are a bit small. Other than that all the staff was polite and attentive and couldn’t ask for better tasting wonderfully presented food! We will definitely be back by ourselves and with friends!
Outstanding food at a great price. BYOB say parking and accessible
I just got bacon eggs, toast and orange juice. The bacon was outstanding and caramelized. The service was excellent. Also the mushroom bisque was tasty.
