The Silver Dollar is a re-imagining of the honky tonks of Bakersfield, CA, circa 1950s, when Southerners transplanted by the Dust Bowl to Southern California created one of the great American musical styles. This music, much of it on original vinyl, spins around the clock at the Silver Dollar, and is served along side craft cocktails and Chef Tyler Powell's made from scratch, Southern-meets-Southern-California cuisine 7 nights a week and for the city's most exciting brunch on Saturdays and Sundays. The restored 1890s firehouse that is home to the Silver Dollar features a 70 seat covered patio.

* This restaurant uses a Priority Seating style of reservation. Priority Seating means that your party will go to the top of any wait list when you arrive at the restaurant, and you will be seated at the first available table that will accommodate your party when your full party is present. To make a traditional reservation for a party 8 +, please call us directly.

Silver Dollar did not disappoint, once again. My colleague and I started our dinner off with a basket of french fries and pickled eggs. The french fries were served with house made ketchup which was awesome. The eggs were absolutely delicious. They had a nice vinegar flavor without being too overpowering. For dinner, we both had the brisket, which is served with a piece of cornbread. Brisket at Silver Dollar is served much thicker than traditional brisket; it's a nice change of pace. It was flavorful and moist. Would absolutely recommend, once again.

Fun and funky joint with one of the best bourbon selections this inexperienced bourbon drinker has ever seen! One of my go-to's in Louisville for a casual bite with great charm!

Always a great meal at Silver Dollar, and the Bourbon is always amazing. I have had 5 different entrees, and each one has been great - from brisket to meat loaf to crab cakes - they do everything well. And always friendly service

This was my first visit and no disappointments. They were busy when we arrived but we were acknowledged quickly and seated before our reservation time. Kayla (server) was pleasant and helpful.

Great cocktail menu! The chicken in the chicken & waffles is some of the best we have ever had. We loved the Christmas lights. We had a hipster waiter and found him endearing, but might be off-putting to some. Our overall experience was great and would definitely return if we were in Louisville again. Really want to try the brunch!

Drinks are great! All the food was great, except mine, which was the chicken and waffle. It was good, but I was hoping for a crispy piece of chicken. Love the old school vinyl playing, very relaxed vibe. Eat the smoky ketchup!!! I will be back often.

After a bad experience at dinner a few months ago, we decided to give Silver Dollar another try for brunch. Mistake. The hostess was rude and we did not enjoy the food at all. The bacon and fried green tomato sandwich was too big and messy to eat. The biscuits and gravy were more like soup, and with the fried egg on top it was worse. We left our food after a few bites and decided this wasn’t the place for us. We ordered diet cokes to start-despite the fact that this seems to be a place to come for “drinks”, it took 20 min for our $2.50 CANS of Diet Coke to be served. Not acceptable.

I will try to make this brief. We've been to Silver Dollar about 6-8 times in the past. This time seemed to be on the right track, I was able to set up the reservations online quickly and easily. In addition, the person on the phone was very nice and helpful when I needed to move my reservatiom from 2000 to 2030.

Once we were promptly seated, we waited for 7-10 minutes for our server to greet us. Once he was there, he didn't apologize for the wait, did not introduce himself and got straight to drinks. Nothing personable, more off-putting was the fact that this husky gentleman was dress in what appeard to be gym clothes with a sloppy ponytail. He wasn't rude, but he clearly didn't care, either.

We got some drinks (Cidergeist and a Mimosoa, Miller Lt bottle with dinner) and fried pickles that were very good.

What was disapppointing was the two $32 Steak and Potato plates that we got (My Wife and I joked that we thought the server would perk up after we confirmed that he could work himself to a $20, he didn't)

The steaks were underseasoned, fatty and cool. The potatoes were good, but for a $32 plate, I felt like should have walked away more satisfied.

The was the most disappointing experience we've had at Silver Dolar. Given the occasion, poor service and subpar dinner, my wife and I have decided that we will not return to the Silver Dollar.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE the Silver Dollar in all aspects! However....the volume of the music is much too high. I always enjoy background music;even at a high level. But the sound level is SO high you can’t hear the food server or even have a conversation at your table without yelling. Thanks!!

My husband and I have eaten here several times for dinner and brunch. We usually always have good service and good food. This time the service was very bad. After our server took our order and told us our food would take awhile she completely ignored us. We sat with no water or drink for about 15 minute when I had to stand up and flag her down to come give us more water and let us order another cocktail. We order the beer can hen which was very small in comparison to the beer can chicken and is the same price which was also overcooked. We were sharing this and we also had to track down our server to bring us an extra plate. So for the first time we didn't have a good experience and our meal was not cheap so to have to beg for service did not make us happy. We will come back but we are definitely going to give this place a break for a little bit.

Originally a horse-and-carriage firehouse in the 1890s, Silver Dollar is now a honky tonk with a southern-inspired menu. Silver Dollar's "Whiskey by the Drink" spirit menu is laden with authentic modern and classic (1940!) bourbon selections sorted by distillery, plus moonshine, wheat whiskey, rye, and seasoned bourbon -- all from the Bluegrass State as well as a few out of state interlopers. You can pair your drink with hearty dishes such as hickory-smoked beef brisket, flank and eggs, chicken & waffles, and brunch specialties like cornbread pancakes and a Texas chili and hashbrowns plate.

Restaurant music was way too loud. Had to yell to talk to others in my party. Poor selection in bbq sauces to go on the pulled pork. Waitress forgot to tell us about the extremely hot sauce until it was too late! Chicken livers were good. Not much of a variety on the menu. Didn't like the mac & cheese. Not sure what kind of cheese(s) they are using. Service was good, not outstanding. We still had to wait for a table even though we used "priority seating". Not sure if we would go back. Maybe we'll give them one more try when the weather is better and we can sit outside and we'll bring our own bottle of bbq sauce. Overall, not very impressed.

This is our annual valentine’s dinner and this year was the best by far. Each table got a rose and two truffles after the meal was finished. Last year we had crappy service for the first time, but this year, they more than made up for it on every level, and they gave us not one but two free desserts for last year’s experience. So happy we can continue on our valentine’s tradition here year after year.

Glad we used Open Table the restaurant filled up quickly. The barbecue grilled chicken thighs were amazing. Boneless. Moist. Spicy. And an over abundance of them. I took half home for lunch. The restaurant is very loud, dark (I used the table candle to read the menu) and the tables for two are cozy small.
The food is delicious.

The Silver Dollar is great for Brunch or Dinner. During Brunch, the atmosphere is much more relaxed and toned down, which is probably a good thing. I enjoy the Chilaquiles Verdes with a Mimosa. The fresh squeezed OJ makes a big difference. My dinning compadre had the Huevos Rancheros which looked equally as delicious. For Dinner, they dim the lights and turn up the music. It is a very lively Dinner experience. The Beer Can Hen and Chicken and Waffle are both delicious dinner options in my opinion. Along with an impeccable whiskey selection they also have a fun, interesting selection of beers by the can, which I appreciate. I would recommend Silver Dollar to locals and travelers alike.
