The Silver Dollar is a re-imagining of the honky tonks of Bakersfield, CA, circa 1950s, when Southerners transplanted by the Dust Bowl to Southern California created one of the great American musical styles. This music, much of it on original vinyl, spins around the clock at the Silver Dollar, and is served along side craft cocktails and Chef Tyler Powell's made from scratch, Southern-meets-Southern-California cuisine 7 nights a week and for the city's most exciting brunch on Saturdays and Sundays. The restored 1890s firehouse that is home to the Silver Dollar features a 70 seat covered patio.

* This restaurant uses a Priority Seating style of reservation. Priority Seating means that your party will go to the top of any wait list when you arrive at the restaurant, and you will be seated at the first available table that will accommodate your party when your full party is present. It was ok. Nothing stood out about the food, service or location. Had a good burger but because of a limited menu and extremly loud noise level probably won't go back. But, glad we tried it.

Went there for my fiancé birthday and had a great time. Our server (Gina) was very upbeat, knew the menu quite well and was very pleasant. ID you go...I highly recommend the Brisket!

Food, service and quick seating were great, however the tables were very small and could hardly fit our entrée, drinks and salads on the table.

Mother’s Day! Restaurant was completely full. The service was fabulous! Our server was very attentive to us and she also had a large party she was taking care of. The team work in this restaurant is something we don’t get to see often enough in other restaurants. Overall...great service, food& atmosphere! Always like this😁

Very noisy. Uncomfortable talking at table. Food was average at best. I would recommend the bar area
for its bourbon selection. Probably the best I have seen.

I went to the Silver Dollar for brunch with a group of friends. We were there the day after the Kentucky Derby, so the restaurant was busy, though not completely packed when we arrived. We were also happy to be able to be seated outside, as it was a beautiful, warm, sunny day. In total we ordered two rounds of drinks, a couple of appetizers to share as a table, and we each ordered an entree.

We received our first round of drinks pretty quickly, but our appetizers took probably at least 45 minutes to arrive after we ordered them. That said, even though we hadn't said anything to our server about it or complained to anyone, the manager came over and said that she would take care of them for us. She actually ended up doing the same for our entrees when those also took a while. We greatly appreciated the fantastic service shown by doing this. Perhaps making it even more amazing, our server actually commented after checking our ID's for drinks on the fact that we were all from out of state - so she knew we weren't people who would potentially come back regularly. They just gave us excellent service because I guess that's how they do it!

We were very impressed by this, and all of our food was excellent. It would have been worth the check. I would highly recommend Silver Dollar to anyone looking for a great brunch or dinner in Louisville!

Food was amazing.....staff was passively interested in our experience....we ordered great drinks. Then things degenerated. We were at the restaurant a grand total of 30 min start to finish. Restaurant might have been half full on Derby weekend....actually derby evening. We ordered appetizers, ordered our main, appetizers came within the time that we got drinks and ordered main (like 3 min) and the the main came 2-3 min after receiving the appetizers. We got 3 appetizers after a full day at Churchill and there was zero room on our small table. Loved the food, hated the experience. If you love bourbon.....eat at the bar.....amazing selection.....this was totally surreal. The staff is extremely lucky the food rocks....because they don’t.

Silver Dollar did not disappoint, once again. My colleague and I started our dinner off with a basket of french fries and pickled eggs. The french fries were served with house made ketchup which was awesome. The eggs were absolutely delicious. They had a nice vinegar flavor without being too overpowering. For dinner, we both had the brisket, which is served with a piece of cornbread. Brisket at Silver Dollar is served much thicker than traditional brisket; it's a nice change of pace. It was flavorful and moist. Would absolutely recommend, once again.

Always a great meal at Silver Dollar, and the Bourbon is always amazing. I have had 5 different entrees, and each one has been great - from brisket to meat loaf to crab cakes - they do everything well. And always friendly service

Great cocktail menu! The chicken in the chicken & waffles is some of the best we have ever had. We loved the Christmas lights. We had a hipster waiter and found him endearing, but might be off-putting to some. Our overall experience was great and would definitely return if we were in Louisville again. Really want to try the brunch!

Drinks are great! All the food was great, except mine, which was the chicken and waffle. It was good, but I was hoping for a crispy piece of chicken. Love the old school vinyl playing, very relaxed vibe. Eat the smoky ketchup!!! I will be back often.

After a bad experience at dinner a few months ago, we decided to give Silver Dollar another try for brunch. Mistake. The hostess was rude and we did not enjoy the food at all. The bacon and fried green tomato sandwich was too big and messy to eat. The biscuits and gravy were more like soup, and with the fried egg on top it was worse. We left our food after a few bites and decided this wasn’t the place for us. We ordered diet cokes to start-despite the fact that this seems to be a place to come for “drinks”, it took 20 min for our $2.50 CANS of Diet Coke to be served. Not acceptable.

I will try to make this brief. We've been to Silver Dollar about 6-8 times in the past. This time seemed to be on the right track, I was able to set up the reservations online quickly and easily. In addition, the person on the phone was very nice and helpful when I needed to move my reservatiom from 2000 to 2030.

Once we were promptly seated, we waited for 7-10 minutes for our server to greet us. Once he was there, he didn't apologize for the wait, did not introduce himself and got straight to drinks. Nothing personable, more off-putting was the fact that this husky gentleman was dress in what appeard to be gym clothes with a sloppy ponytail. He wasn't rude, but he clearly didn't care, either.

We got some drinks (Cidergeist and a Mimosoa, Miller Lt bottle with dinner) and fried pickles that were very good.

What was disapppointing was the two $32 Steak and Potato plates that we got (My Wife and I joked that we thought the server would perk up after we confirmed that he could work himself to a $20, he didn't)

The steaks were underseasoned, fatty and cool. The potatoes were good, but for a $32 plate, I felt like should have walked away more satisfied.

The was the most disappointing experience we've had at Silver Dolar. Given the occasion, poor service and subpar dinner, my wife and I have decided that we will not return to the Silver Dollar.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE the Silver Dollar in all aspects! However....the volume of the music is much too high. I always enjoy background music;even at a high level. But the sound level is SO high you can’t hear the food server or even have a conversation at your table without yelling. Thanks!!

My husband and I have eaten here several times for dinner and brunch. We usually always have good service and good food. This time the service was very bad. After our server took our order and told us our food would take awhile she completely ignored us. We sat with no water or drink for about 15 minute when I had to stand up and flag her down to come give us more water and let us order another cocktail. We order the beer can hen which was very small in comparison to the beer can chicken and is the same price which was also overcooked. We were sharing this and we also had to track down our server to bring us an extra plate. So for the first time we didn't have a good experience and our meal was not cheap so to have to beg for service did not make us happy. We will come back but we are definitely going to give this place a break for a little bit.
