Service was poor. We had to constantly ask for refills. Food was not worth what i paid.
Crab cakes very good. Shrimp & Grits good to very good. Service very good. Tables were grossly sticky like layers of food from years past.
Food and service were both far below average. Drinks from the bar were not good. Hardly anyone in the place. Not surprising.
It was my boyfriend’s birthday and it was amazing! All the food was very good at the service was outstanding. Our waiter took a small bit of time to get us our check, but there seemed to be a problem at another table and it really was not something that ruined the meal. Amazing overall and highly recommend
It was a nice place but my shrimp was a little salty for me but everything else was good. Are waitress was the best waitress that i had ever had.
Went on Open Table and had a reservation for 6:45. We arrived at the restaurant via Uber at 6:40 and the four of us were seated. After approximately 15 min. a server cane and took our drink order and after another 15 min he returned with the two glasses of wine and two beers. One beer was draft the other was bottle and I requested a glass for the bottle beer. The server turned to the table next to us and proceeded to fix a table side salad. When he was finished he returned to our table and I requested my glass again, to which he stated he had not left the table next to us. I promptly handed him my beer and said he could take it back and if he would get me the check we would not bother him any more. Within 10 min the manager came over and ask what the problem was and I proceeded to tell him that I thought his waiters needed some anger management training and that if he would give me the check I would leave. He offered to comp the drinks, but we insisted on paying which we did and then left the restaurant.
Had lunch with friends, great food, good service, not too noisy, nice atmosphere on the water front, definitely return and prices were very responsible.
Possibly the worst service I have ever had at a restaurant!! This place is definitely surviving on its location and the tourist traffic. We were seated promptly (Hostess was the gem of the visit), waited 10-15 minutes before a server came to our table to get drink order. Meal went downhill from there! Food orders were brought out incomplete, some not at all, we had entrees but never got our salads. When we asked our server for what we were missing the response was "Ok you will have to wait a minute" After about 5 minutes we talked to Manager, whom we had to track down. Manager brought remaining items but never once apologized for any of the bad service. Our Server never returned to the table except to place the $90 bill (no alcohol) on the table withot saying anything. Nothing was written off for the pathetic service! TOURIST TRAP place in my opinion!!
Celebrating my Niece's Graduation with a party of 7 and The Shrimp Factory was outstanding. Our waitress young Anna was very pleasant and made our dinner a very good experience! Everyone's good was prepared perfectly and there were not even slight nuances or complaints for that matter. We will visit this special place again.
A special thanks to you Anna you are wonderful!!!!
I came here for my graduation. We had a party of 8. Although the server was very polite the actual service was not that great. It seemed as though she needed help. She wasn’t very attentive and required several reminders of drinks and foods. It took her at least 30 minutes to bring out 3 separate drinks from the bar. She wasn’t very attentive to our table. Being from the south (Georgia specifically) both of my sisters ordered the shrimp and grits and neither were impressed as they both sent there dishes back. The grits were not at all to their expectations. The fried seafood was pretty good. I ordered the shrimp plate. The appetizers seemed decent. We ordered the wings and the shrimp, crab, spinach and artichoke dip and were satisfied. Overall I probably wouldn’t eat here again nor recommend it to anyone. More of a tourist attraction as others have stated.
The shrimps are unbelievable delicious!
We had the Crab stuffing pile in the middle of a flounder skin, I found it very disappointing since there was only about five bites of flounder. It was actually two strips of flounder wrapped around the crabcake which didn’t contain very much crabmeat at all. The rice was old and chewy, the green beans were absolutely horrible, they were so tough they couldn’t be cut with a knife. I would recommend friends to go there for maybe a burger and a beer, however, I would definitely tell them not to order the crab stuffed flounder. The server was awesome, give her a raise, she was very kind, polite and courteous. very kind, polite and courteous.
Meh. Slow. Expensive. Average.
Ordered the shrimp and crab boil. The crab came out freezing cold so had to send it back. When it came back out it was the perfect temperature, but it was so so so salty. Couldn’t really taste the crab for all the old bay seasoning. I love old bay, but the crab was seriously overwhelmed.
Just okay. Feel compelled to write a review as the general high marks are deceiving. Good location and average for the rest. Should have known when they were giving out coupons s for a free appetizer that it wouldn't be a highlight....
Very casual. Great food. Atmosphere close to being in a Moe's, or a fast food joint. But the food was like being in a very good restaurant.
We made reservations but none was needed. We went on a Saturday night at 7pm. There was no wait even if you didn't have a reservation. The food was good but not spectacular. I have had better. My husband's pasta did not have enough sauce. He had to ask for more. The waitress was not very attentive. She never came back to check on us. The food was overpriced. I had the shrimp and grits. It had a lot of shrimp but it was just average tasting. The grits was missing something. Overall everything was good but the restaurant was just average.
Food was delicious and arrived at a moderate time after ordering. Server was great
The food was great and our waiter was very accommodating!
Was a bit sceptical given the mixed reviews but our experience could not have been better. Everyone was attentive and very nice and the food was hot and delious. I would definitely go back anytime. Not sure what the bad complaints are about.
Shrimp tacos were simple but delicious. Generously portioned as an appetizer. Very pleased
Ordered steak med/rare but it was rare, potatoes were not even warm. Good taste and service. No compensation offered for cold potatoes. Oh well.
Visiting Savannah for the first time and selected the Shrimp Factory as it was within walking distance from the hotel. I had reservations for 3 at 8:45 PM on a Thursday evening and still ended up waiting for a table to open up. Instead of explaining the situation, I was given the shoulder shrug to wait at the front entrance. Strange that other customers arrived after we did but were seated ahead of us. The food was average. I ordered the Shrimp Factory Steamed Platter to share with my daughter and my wife ordered the New York strip as a gluten free alternative. The meal comes with table side tossed Caesar salad, but the request for recommendations on gluten free entrees did not register with the waitress as she tossed the croutons with the salad even though there was a request not include the croutons. The tables are small enough as it is but when it is loaded with 3 plates of untouched salad and an untouched bread basket, it becomes an inconvenience as the drinks and water glasses took the rest of the table space. Although the waitress was a nice server, I watched food being delivered to the other tables, and the waitress would only glance as she was taking additional orders. The table next to mine was seated after we had placed our order, received their Steam Platter ahead of us, and left before our table finished the meal. It does get busy (just like every other restaurant along the waterfront) so reservations are highly recommended. Given alternatives nearby, I would not revisit the Shrimp Factory on my next visit to Savannah.
We were in town for a visit to see the sights and decided on the Shrimp Factory since we are both big shrimp fans. The bread was great with the meal along with the Fried Green Tomatoes and the fried shrimp.
As we were walking on River Street, we passed the Shrimp Factory. We stopped at the bar first, had a drink and reserved a table online. We are so glad we ate there. My wife and I loved the Shrimp Factory. Everything about the place was great. Service was great. Food was superb and the ambiance was perfect. Great place. A must visit.
Good food. Very cute and quaint!
The service was slow. The bar was out of the ingrediants for the two drinks that my wife and I wanted. No plates for the bread. No siverware for the food until we had to ask... Food was so so. I would not go back.
We loved our experience at the Shrimp Factory and enjoyed our delicious dinners the seafood platter was delicious and the pine bark Stew was delicious the bananas Foster's was out this world
The shrimp factory was clean and there was certainly a good selection of food for appetizers and main course. The coconut shrimp appetizer was great but everything else was just okay. It won’t be the worst meal of your life but not a memorable one - at least not for me. The service was great given how busy they were.
I would not recommend this restaurant! Starting at the front door.... the hostess on the street did not even speak to us when we told her we had a reservation. She rolled her eyes and nodded her head toward the door (not sure why she is there anyway because then we saw another hostess). We were seated promptly... right outside the mens bathroom. Our waitress was nice and sufficient. I really do think she was trying but the tables are really tight. Speaking of the tables they were so sticky... gross. We asked for them to be wiped down which the waitress did but said they were just sticky (the paper placemat stuck to the table and ripped when we tried to move it). We had a glass of wine which was ok although could have been colder for a white. My husband's meal was good. My crab legs came out like rubber and couldn't be cracked. They did replace them with more shrimp. Oh... the boiled items are coated in Old Bay which is not noted on the menu so beware if you don't want Old Bay on everything including your corn.
The womens bathroom is not handicapped accessible. There may have been an accessible bathroom somewhere but I didn't see it. Women's bathroom was so nasty that I didn't use it.
This place is loud too!
My husband and I ate here 14 years ago on our honeymoon. We came back with our children and it didn’t disappoint!!
The location is nice. The food was excellent. Would recommend for anyone.
It was ok. On the riverfront so busy and noisy. Food is average.
Superb food, fantastic service, very courteous staff. Will definitely go again.
Great food, large portions, great staff!
Food was great and our server, Chandler, was outstanding. A member of our party had to take a very important phone call just as his soup was being delivered. Chandler realized the soup was getting cold and as soon as he returned form his call Chandler brought him another cup of warmed soup. Certainly going the extra step and we really appreciated. Thanks again for a great dinner
Try the flounder stuffed with crabmeat. Excellent meal!
Very good experience, food was tasty and the service was prompt; reservation was made on-line; it was honored on arrival.
Food: Oysters tasted fresh; be cautious when chewing small bits of shell noted; fish and shrimp were seasoned just right. While fries were lukewarm when served, our server noticed and promptly had them replaced with fresh hot fries. We also tried the shrimp and grits, while pretty tasty, temperature of dish/mainly the grits were lukewarm. Our primary concern was irregularities with food temperature was the only blemish cited during my experience. Overall, the experience was good, hostesses and waiter (Jeb) were very attentive and attempted to make sure all of our requests were met.
Looking forward to our next visit!
The Hostess working inside almost make me feel like leaving. She wasn’t friendly. She Seamed disinterested with no hospitality skills whatsoever.
This wasn't a great experience. It was ok, but for the price we paid the quantity of food was a HUGE disappointment. Not to mention we were the 1st of 3 tables to be seated and ordered placed and the last to be served. I wouldn't eat here again.
