The Shrimp Factory Ratings and Reviews
The tables were sticky for starters. The oysters were huge and delicious! The rest of the food was clearly frozen fish, the stuffed flounder had bones in it and basically tasted like mashed potatoes, not delicious. I had shrimp and crab legs which was pretty good, the seasoning and temperature was great, however, it only came with 3 crab legs for the 1/2 pound. Our server was amazing, she was doing her best to please. The French cucumber martini was outstanding! Best part of the meal!!!!
This was such a letdown from start to finish.
Upon arrival, the hostess was curt and dismissive. We had a reservation but were treated as if we had walked in without one.
A manager rudely addressed one person in our party about where she was and was not permitted to walk through the restaurant.
Two of us had coconut shrimp that neither of us could finish, and would not recommend.
There seemed to be some major confusion regarding caesar salad. Caesar salad definitely should not have cheddar cheese and cucumbers.
Between the host and the server, no one was able to set the table for 7 - we were short waters and place settings.
It didn't affect me personally, but how do you run out of lemons?
Overall - WOULD NOT RECOMMEND
We were last there 10 years ago, so was looking forward to another great experience...really didn't happen. Had a reservation, seated to close to entrance so loud people were waiting on a table..no salad made at the table, last time received coffee in french press made at table with cinnamon offered, this time tepid coffee. I asked for appetizer as an entree...had to ask for a salad...no sides offered even at additional charge..server just interested in getting order and moving on. Next trip we will try somewhere else.
I wasn't wowed by my dinner which was a crab legs plate. I was sadly diappointed they were old, cold and dry maybe sitting under a heat lamp for awhile...I will say that our waiter ask what was wrong an fix it with fresh crab legs and corn...ahhh perfect! That's how crab legs are supposed to look and taste!
I will add they were a little skimpy and I had a few legs that did not even have crabmeat inside.
Waiter was a little slow with service, didn't tell us his name so I don't have a name
My husband had shrimp and sausage creole and he said it was really good and enjoyed every bite!
Bread was fresh and hot and we really loved the pimento cheese side.
We really are not sure if we would visit again with some many other seafood options to choose from.
Our Valentines Day dinner at the Shrimp Factory far exceeded our expectations. Thinking this was going to be a price fixed limited menu and a rush out the door job we were totally wrong. The service provided by our waitress Tricia was first rate and she enhanced our experience being pleasant and thoughtful. Her attentiveness to detail was much appreciated. Our meals were ordered from the restaurant's full menu and served within a reasonable time. The food was delicious and plentiful. Our only regret was not having room for dessert! The rose presented to my wife by the establishment for the Valentines Day festivities was a very pleasant surprise.
The restaurant was very nice. The staff was patient with us as we had trouble accessing parking (traffic blocked due to accident) so they waited until all guests arrived to be seated without issue. Waiter was very helpful to our group and provided prompt service. Restaurant was clean and food was absolutely GREAT! No complaints and would definitely come again when visiting Savannah, Georgia.
If you are walking on River Street and want to grab a nice meal, The Shrimp Factory is a great option.
Started off with some homemade Bloody Marys. Ask them to kick it up a notch! They use OldBay seasoning on the rim. Nice touch.
We had a coupon for free Shrimp Cocktail appetizer. Tasty sauce with plump ones.
Wife had the Shrimp and Grits. Very good. Nice big shrimp.
I had the Shrimp Creole over rice. Would get that again in a skinny minute.
Finished off with a Bananas Foster. Made tableside! Very cool and so good. Don't miss that if you are a Fosters fan.
Saving the best part for last. Karen.
She was absolutely awesome. Definition of "hospitality" should have her picture next to it. Made the whole experience so pleasant. So eat at TSF if you are in the area. I'll be back.
Pleasantly surprised as most touristy restaurants (River St in Savannah) are overpriced and /or mediocre food. Nice attentive waitstaff, good food and fair prices. Will definitely come again and refer friends. We dined around 5:45 on a Tuesday night in January 2018 - not crowded. Althiugh it was restaurant week, we ordered from the regular menu.
Service was excellent! Food was okay. They didn’t have a lunch special for Restaurant Week, which was why we went there. Also, no Gluten-free specified items on the menu; the server had to ask the kitchen for each menu item I wanted, whether it contained wheat. That was a bit cumbersome. Otherwise, it’s a decent place to eat.
The restaurant is old building waterfront historic on Riverwalk which makes it very attractive but the wooden tables that we were seated at were sticky on the top from the gooey finish coming off. They need to have the tops refinished. The bar special running all day everyday was margaritas for 5.00 so we asked about strawberry and the waitress said no strawberry but they had raspberry so we ordered the raspberry. Our bill came and we were charged 7.00 for the raspberry. We inquired and the waitress admitted that she had not told us right and she would see manager. She came back and told us that the manager would not give us 5.00 price. We spent 240.00 in that restaurant and the manager wouldn't honor waitress mistake accounting for 4.00 overage. Seems small deal but to me it's a big deal because it says that the manager could care less about the customer and doing things properly. Won't go back solely for that reason and wouldn't recommend either.
My wife and I were on a quiet getaway, we enjoyed our Evening Meal at the Shrimp Factory very much. Our server was friendly, attentive and gave us a brief history of the building. The food was very good I. I got the Low Country Boil and my wife ordered the Crab legs everything was seasoned well. I do recommend the Shrimp Factory!!!
The food was amazing! But it took about 15 minutes for someone to wait on us, and even then, we had to initiate it. Apparently, the person who was supposed to wait on us just didnt, so the waitress working the adjacent tables ended up taking care of us. Thankfully, she was awesome! Also, the other issue is we made reservations through the website, but when we arrived the hostess never asked if we had reservations, and never gave us the chance to say we did. So then we received a snarky email from OpenTable chastising us for not keeping our reservations, when in fact we had.
The bisque was barely warm, had to send it back.
The shrimp scampi had no garlic butter because of all the water in the pasta. The shrimp & grits was watery as well. No flavor to either dish!!!
We had to ask for bread and water .
I don't think the "moonshine margarita 's" had any alcohol at all.
The only thing decent was the sliders appetizer.
We had made a reservation and arrived there at the time we specified and did not have to wait. There were plenty of tables available. We both ordered a fish dish which was very good but my husband had also ordered a clam corn chowder which he felt was much too thick but had a good taste
