The food was terrible. Haley our server was awesome. This is not about the server. This is about your food. I had the pine bark stew. It was supposed to be shrimp clams oysters and scallops. It had 2 small shrimp, one oyster, NO clams, and 3 small scallops along with a few small pieces of fish. There rear was potatoes. Five times as many potatoes as seafood and fish. The broth was undercooked flour based gravy. No flavor. My wife had a blackened grouper that was was totally unacceptably over cooked. She sent it back. They comped us both meals which they should have since we are now looking for someplace to eat a bit. Please don’t blame it on the Covid. Bad food should not be sent out ever.
We had a recommendation to eat here. The food is excellent! Highly recommend the Pine Bark stew! Our server was nice but they were severely understaffed. She had to bus her own tables and the manager was actually turning people away at the door because he could not serve them even though there were plenty of open tables. This may just have been an effect of a general staffing shortage and common in high tourist areas. Ambiance and view of the river are great! I would say take a chance on getting a table and just eat here.
Mediocrity at best. Food nothing special and service average.
Very understaffed. The food was good but we waited nearly an hour for it. The server kept insisting it was only going to be ten more minutes.
This place was what I expected from Savannah. Made a reservation. When we showed up the manager told us they were running a bit behind in the kitchen. No problem. Went to the bar for a drink. Was seated.shortly after our reservation. Waitress was PHENOMENAL!! Made sure our drinks didnt run dry as we did wait a bit for our food, but again, we were told up front. Will definitely be back!
The food was excellent, and our party of four enjoyed their selections. The service was not so good. It took over an hour to get our food, once we had ordered. Tables near us were getting their food before us, and they ordered after us. We spoke to the manager and he talked with the kitchen. We were told that our food "took longer to prepare" than others. Our server did not come to check on our table, or tell us that our food would take longer. The manager offered to give us a complimentary round of drinks, but it took 20 min to get them, and by this time we had finished eating and were ready to leave.
This was a frustrating meal.
It was the worst experience ever. Our server kept coming back to the table every 20 mins and rushes never got everything we need. By the time we got our silverware food was cold. Drinks were not refilled. Worst attitude but the other guests around had no problem.
They sat us immediately once we arrived. The service wasn’t bad and the server was prompt taking our order. Our food took longer than expected and was cold when it was served. The waitress took our plates back to the kitchen to be reheated. The food was bland and unimpressive. The waitress forgot about us once our food was delivered.
Resturant was not as expected. The hush puppies were burnt, grits cold and food lightly warm. Under staffed and bathrooms were Disgusting. True outhouse feel experience and the restrooms could use one the hour maintenance by someone (maybe the hostess station since it was two-three there to assist)
Food over priced for the value. Will never return. Wish we had chosen the Fiddler Crab.
The food was good but the service was very slow. The restaurant was not very clean and the air conditioning didn’t seem to be working as well as it could.
My husband and I really enjoyed out dinner. The shrimp, crab and spinach artichoke dip was amazing! I ordered the fried shrimp and my husband ordered the shrimp and crab meat au gratin. Both were very flavorful! My husband ordered Savannah’s signature drink, Chatham Artillery Punch and received a souvenir glass to take home. We were celebrating our anniversary so we received dessert on the house! The praline cheesecake was delicious!
Poor service! Food was cold and never got drink I ordered
Food was delicious. The fried oysters, shrimp and grits and seafood boil were ordered by my family. Everything was good. Waitress was attentive.
Nice quiet dinner. Fabulous service and food.
Everything we ate was delicious and Juanita was an awesome server!
Waste of money, I would not recommend. It took 25 minutes to get appetizer, 45ish minutes from order time to get food. The food was dried out, like it was in the heating window for way too long. The shrimp and lobster spinach dip was dry and had little season. We will not return.
Food was very good! Our server was very nice and attentive!
The food was excellent! We especially enjoyed the steamed shrimp, fried calamari and hush puppies. Wish they would would make a basket of hushpuppies an appetizer because they are really good! Our server was friendly but a little forgetful (had to ask for silverware, got wrong beer order, and asked for lemons twice). The restaurant was right on River St and very casual and pleasant atmosphere for our family of 6.
Our waitress, so sorry I for got her name, was very professional and had excellent customer service skills. Please give her kudos!
It was a holiday weekend. It was busy. They were short staffed (probably, lots of that going around). However, there is no excuse for the server to offer to go boxes 5 minutes after serving the food. Somehow the appetizer (conveniently) never got to our table. And half of my plate was cold, like refrigerator cold, which tells me it was microwaved, badly. Then, while one of our party was still obviously eating, she shoved a to go box on the table and dropped off the check, without asking or offering dessert, which the table across from us seemed to deserve the courtesy of ordering. I actually said nothing about the missing appetizer or my cold food, although my companions caught her attention and requested a hot corn on the cob for me. But we were not rude or ugly about it; it was just a request. Too bad turning tables is a higher priority than providing at least a respectable dining experience in a tourist joint in a tourist town, one whose reputation has previously (pre-Covid) been built on its renowned Southern hospitality.
The highlight of the evening was watching the team of young men bussing and setting up in the dining room. They worked together as one. In particular, I watched as one of them gracefully, elegantly, effortlessly transported a tray full of at least a dozen and probably more heavy glasses from tables they were clearing with such confidence and fluid motion back to the kitchen for washing. I was able to catch him on one of his trips by (they never stood still, always in motion) to compliment him on his handling and the smile I received was eloquent thanks for the notice. And then he was off again. It would be a real benefit to this establishment if that level of performance extended up the chain.
Shrimp gumbo and shrimp and grits was bland and tasteless. Service was good. I would've been happier somewhere else for the price.
This was suppose to be our last great dinner in Savannah Georgia. We were completely wrong. We were there for an hour before our food came out. Nothing was hot! I had to calm my husband down because he was ready to just go off. They were out of a lot of menu items, which we didn’t know about until after we ordered.
On vacation. My husband did a little research and decided on this restaurant. The food was excellent and the service impeccable. Would definitely revisit.
Savannah was our waitress and she was phenomenal! Her suggestions for appetizers, drinks and dinner were all on point!
Great food and great service. Low Country boil was excellent as was the peanut butter pie!
We had a reservation at 5:30p. Waitress was right on the spot took drink orders, then dinner order. Drinks came and then we waited for 45 min, our waitress, Savannah, was stopping by every so often to say, kitchen is a little behind and apologized for our wait at the 45 min wait she offered us shrimp and corn soup free which held us over. Our dinners arrived shortly, along with the manager shortly after to say the ran out of certain dishes and had to run to sister restaurant for more. Savannah our waitress was excellent and have to say she was the one that went to the manager for the free soup, which impressed me. My fried shrimp were done perfectly and my husband crab stuffed flounder was excellent!!
Food was delicious and loved the idea that proceeds from praline cheesecake went to hungry children. We brought home 2 pieces. Ty was a delightful waitress.
Food was very good we had the low country boil. It was a good value for what we had.
Reservations was at 6:45pm….. had to ask for a waitress at 7:20 pm to take drink order
At 8;20 brought us the wrong food and there was a hair on the top of my sons fish….. it was the worst
Pine bark stew was tasty, but you have to offer bread, or at least crackers with something like that. Very touristy area,so they move you in and out. Waiter was pretty good. All restaurants are so expensive post pandemic, I don’t know if it’s a good value or not.
The food was good, they were busy and under staffed like every place right now. We ordered an appetizer but it came out with our food. Our waitress was working her tail off but one person can’t take care of all those tables in a timely matter.
Food was fantastic. Sat next to a loud family with unruly children laying on the floor and running in front of the waiters. After they left the entire restaurant was relaxing and awesome.
Wonderful. Walked right in with reservation. Everything is good!
We have frequented this restaurant several times and this time it was freezing cold. It was Mother’s Day so we expected alot of people. The table next to us - the waitress walked up and said, “Let me tell you what we don’t have!” I was like wow. For it to be a busy weekend they were limited on supplies. My spouse ordered the flounder and it wasn’t seasoned. But my meal was delicious.
Seated quickly with reservation. Only 3 servers but food arrived in about 30 minutes. Food was delicious.
This was one of the worst restaurant experiences I have had in recent memory. It is sad because this has been a family favorite for a long time. I don’t know what has changed in the past year, but the food was poorly prepared, slow, and lukewarm. The crab legs were so badly overcooked that several were nearly empty of meat. We waited over 50 minutes for entrees and there was no notice of our delay. To cap it all, the manager refused to honor our Open Table reward despite it being linked to the reservation , and refused to call the provided number for help. With so many other good choices in Savannah, I would avoid this place like the plague as no one should have to suffer such complete failure of both food and service at this price point.
Food was fair I had Gumbo with Shrimp, Andoulie Sausage and Okra. Way to much okra and very very little andoulie sausage. Very disappointing dish. My daughter had Shrimp Alfredo, just ok. My wife had Shrimp and Grits , she had the best dish of the 3 of us
Didn’t have fireball to drink although the waiter says everyone asks for it. Bad management
They were out of all their popular dishes tonight. Pretty disappointed.
Very cheap and not as nice as expected
