The Shrimp Box & Outside The Box Patio Bar
Very busy waterfront restaurant. Good value with salad bar included in meal. Average food, very loud dining room. Server was excellent as she had many tables to handle and did so very well.
WTtess was alittle dud and quick to leave. Never asked if we wanted desert on our end of table. Just have us a bill
Overall this restaurant was such great place to dine. Our server Delores was amazing. I highly recommend them and we will be back soon.
outstanding food, service, but the noise level was very unacceptable. We had to scream at each person across the table from us to be heard. Asked for the furtherest black table in the most rear. Was 2 tables from that in the main dining room. Much too noisy to enjoy our other patrons. Next time I will insist on the most realest table next to the outer wall.
Love that the Shrimp Box is on Open Table, we love the place but there is always a wait. Now I can make reservations and go even on the weekends. Yeah!
Let me start by saying that the bartenders were awesome. Our server was good, but the rest was iffy. Food was mediocre. Soup and bread was probably the only decent part of the meal. Shrimp cocktail still had the vein running through it. Sweet potato and veggies were mushy. Filet mignon wasn’t really seasoned and was dry. Overall experience for my moms birthday wasn’t that great. Also, my boyfriend and I stayed at the end till close for drinks at the bar to watch the yankee game and every server and cook from the kitchen was drinking on the floor. This was while customers were still in the restaurant. They were sitting at bar, drinking and eating dinner. From drinking on the floor, and counting tips out in the open... It wasn’t a very professional atmosphere. First and last visit to the shrimp box.
Once was our go to place for good seafood. Has gotten very commercial and cold at times. Food is okay and the service is good if you get the right waitress.
This was a birthday celebration but it seemed like just an ordinary dinner next to the wait staff trays for dirty dishes.
The view was wonderful, the food was served hot and was delicious. Our server was friendly and helpful. We definitely will return.
We look forward to eating there 1st week of December when everything decorated. I do think at this time of year the salad bar should be freshened up more often. And something with less mayonnaise. One place I go includes a type of Greek bread pudding which resembles a square piece of stuffing. Barring any unforeseen weather since we are from Hamilton?Trenton see you end of November or 1st week of December.
Outstanding...never disappointed. Thanks so much!
We had a great lunch. We chose the 3 course special menu. Food was very good. The service was good and the restaurant was cozy.
Overall an Average dinner. Service was good. Best part of the dinner was the Manhattan Clam Chowder. Scallops were “meh”, captains platter sounded great, turned out to be so-so. They serve a frozen blend of veggies, watery and bland. Mashed potato was good.
The Shrimp Box is a local favorite serving great food with friendly staff.
Celebrating my wife’s recovery from a medical issue.
Our server Blake was outstanding. Thank you Blake.
Good experience. Sunset Dinners are a great bargain. Bar drinks very well done. We had nice seating looking out on the water.
Never disappoints! Enjoyed every morsel! Look forward to our next visit!
Great service. Great view — reasonably priced sunset dinners. Basic fresh seafood fare.
Shrimp Box is always wonderful! Food is great, service is great! It’s a bit noisy and it was warm in the dining area but overall always a great dinner.
We had a delicious Sunday dinner. Restaurant was very busy but the service was excellent and our meals were delicious. We had flounder and swordfish. Very fresh
We were very pleased as the Sunset dinners are very good.
Food was delicious. Table was set up perfectly. Service was spot on.
Very good service and our lunch was good. The parking lot was crowded at the opening time of 12 noon and complicated by a food services delivery truck that killed 2 or more spaces.
An unpleasant odor was rather prominent throughout the restaurant on this occasion. Perhaps it is time for new carpeting.
Thankfully, our server was pleasant and the food did not disappoint.
Seafood specials were cooked perfectly, but they were bland, no flavor.
Always a winner! Our favorite seafood restaurant!
Typical fish restaurant on the water, fresh fish dishes. Waitress very knowledgeable and attentive.
Da food bees real good fo sure
This place is bustling- I guess if you only come to the shore for
One weekend a year, you want seafood and have a big group this is where to go. But had kinda a cafeteria vibe with over priced bland food.
Being on the water is nice but you can’t enjoy it as the place is too chaotic.
Everything was terrific. Great location, service was excellent and the food was absolutely perfect.
Love the Shrimp Box and it is definitely worth the hour drive down the shore. Our waitress was wonderful and the food was delicious
Good food, very attentive and helpful wait staff. It had been raining, but then stopped. We asked if they could roll up the side, and they were on it as quickly as possible. I have already recommended it to friends. The music was a little loud, but other than that was perfect. Good, but loud.
This evening was our first time dining inside. We’ve only ever sat at the patio bar for drinks when spending a day down by the water. It was very crowded on a rainy Wednesday night at 5pm. Overall the place gives off a Nursing Home Dining room or Early Bird Special Vibe. The food quality suffers from the overly large dining room. High prices for very mediocre seafood. Side dishes are a complete afterthought. The mashed potatoes are portioned with an ice cream scoop and steam veg is just that, unseasoned, water-logged steamed veg. My Mother got a very moist slice of carrot cake with her meal, and as a Pastry Chef I must give credit where it is due. I wasn’t able to ask if they make it in house or purchase it from restaurant supply because our waitress was just too busy. Had to practically tackle her for a second glass of wine. Not her fault as they were clearly understaffed. We won’t return as we can make far better seafood at home for half the price.
The Shrimp box was a wonderful experience. The food was outstanding and we loved our table over looking the bay and had a full view of the amazing sunset. Can’t wait to go back.
The food was generic, at best, I simply remember it being so much better years ago.
My only complaint was the horrible table we were placed at, we go every year for the wonderful food and the views of the boats however we were stuck at this little table with no view in a back corner which the roof was leaking right next to the table. Disappointing to say the least with that being said the food was excellent. We will try again next year as in 10 years this is the only time this happened.
Always enjoy dining there! The only complaint is the noise level.
The shrimp box is a busy and bustling place, however the food is consistently good and the seafood specials are terrific. Very few vegetarian offerings. Priced as you would expect for a marina eatery. Make reservations. Want it quieter? Go after 7 pm.
This was our first time at The Shrimp Box, and we were referred.
From start to finish, the food was very good, fresh and flavorful.
Our server, Kelly was very good as well!
We certainly be back, Thanks for such a great meal, with wonderful view!
