Had the mushroom ravioli, which was delicious.
Staff is very attentive and on time with requests.
Nice ambiance with great views. Can be a little noisy from hotel guests with kids also dining here.
Server could have been more knowledgeable about how food was prepared. I had a vey good dirty martini.
Fantastic place to have dinner! Would recommend dinning during a sunset.
Sat outside on the lawn with the beach right in front of us. Great service from John and the food was fresh and flavorful.
Jesse was our server and was great. Beautiful view of the sunset from our table. Wedge salad was delicious. Tuna wontons were so good. Would definitely go back.
The food was delicious , but the staff needs 10 stars. We reserves for 8, but as more people arrived from the east coast and noon was late for east coast time ( already 3 pm), Suzana was our server and with a smile ad grace helped us fit 4 more people in, even though there were no more tables. The beach and ocean view are fabulous, it is Suzana who made it work!
Ordered the swordfish. Great food and service. Can’t beat the view.
Food is C+/B- . The view is amazing and makes it just about worth it but don’t expect an amazing meal or great service.
The food was PHENOMENAL. I had the fish tacos and they were absolutely delicious. The quality of food was amazing and we were able to watch the sunset on the beach from our booth inside! Definitely a place you have to check out at least once. I’ll definitely be back!
I loved the view the restaurant was pretty empty and there weren’t many families. It had an older crowd but everyone was extremely
Friendly. The cocktails were delicious, food was amazing and everything came out quickly. We would not only eat here again but we would probably stay at this hotel.
Sat at an outside patio table on a cool, windy day but sunny day. The service was friendly, quick, and followed up as one would expect.
I had a chicken salad, which was tasty and well prepared.
Overall great experience for a Monday afternoon lunch with friends from out of town. The location is one of the best in La Jolla, San Diego.
We showed for our 7:30 Rez and the ambiance was bright lighting and it was very loud. It was hard to see the ocean view due to the glare from the bright interior lighting. Not quite what we expected but whatever. The restaurant was only about 30% full and yet they agonized over where they could seat us. Our server showed up within 15 seconds of us being seated and wanted a drink and appetizer order. We ordered a bottle of wine. A minute later she was back and wanted an order for appetizers. It seemed a bit rushed so we asked for a bit more time. We got another 3 minutes and she was back. Hmmm… we ordered an appetizer just to get some space. 3 minutes later she is back for a food order. We are starting to get a bit bugged by this and asked for more time. 3 minutes later and she is back. We gave her a firm no and said we wanted to take our time. We haven’t even seen our appetizer yet. Within another 3 minutes the manager comes by and tells us that we need to order as the kitchen is closing in a few minutes. This is a little after 8:00 PM on a Saturday night!!! WTF? So we order and receive our entrees and unwanted appetizer all at the same time shortly after. By 8:30 the staff is running around cleaning and making it uncomfortable enough that most tables leave. By 8:45 we had enough and threw our food in to go boxes and asked for a wine cork on our mostly un-drank bottle of wine. It was apparently not available. $150 for this crap experience and another $20 to get out of the parking lot. No idea why they were closing so early on a Saturday night and definitely no idea why they would take a 7:30 reservation and not tell you when you are seated that you only have a few minutes.
Excellent food with a great view!!!
Food was not up to par
The entrée was the wild mushroom stuffed ravioli, and they were not fresh, the outside shell was tough, and the greens were soggy! We had to ask for complementary sourdough rolls which they did not have, so they gave us sourdough toast! Then we also had to remind them that this was a birthday celebration! Very poor communication!
Waiter spilled water all behind us and never brought us the salad we ordered. They charged us the wrong amount and food was just ok. Great view. This place needs a make over for sure.
Wouldn’t go back.
Service was good but the food was not. Even if it had been good, it was grossly overpriced.
So good! Loved my mushroom ravioli! Amazing view of the La Jolla Shores beach. A very special treat!
We had a great dinner
Great service, amazing food! We ask our server about validating our parking ticket, so he advised no problem he work take care it and took our ticket when we paid the bill. He returned with the closing bill and our parking ticket and thanked us for visiting The Shores. As we attempted to leave the underground parking area the gate meter read $10 due for parking. Since we were at the restaurant for less than 2 hours, parking was suppose to be free. Needless to say instead of going back upstairs and inside the restaurant to address the matter, we just paid the fee and went on our way.
It was my family’s first time eating here and overall the food was tasty and was priced just right. I especially loved the dessert options that we picked 🤤
Went there for restaurant week. Wow..what an experience. Awesome view, food was great. Service was kind of slow but the server was personable and witty; that made a huge difference. Overall GREAT job everybody!
Overall a great experience for a special occasion! But $18 for a quesadilla is a little (a lot) spendy!
Amazing view good food and free parking! A very nice place to eat and chit chat!
Tiki tiki drink was tropical. Wonton chips poke appetizer was fresh. Caesar salad with grilled salmon was delicious. Turkey Cobb was a happy salad nice full serving. Service was pleasant. Beautiful location looking out on La Jolla shores beach. Nice evening. We will be back.
The food, the ambience, the view of the beach everything about this restaurant was amazing.
Great food & service. Beautiful views!!!
We had great service snd enjoyable evening with family. Loved being right off the beach.
Inside the La Jolla Shores Hotel. Wonderful Spanish architecture. Great location right on the beachfront. Menu selections good. Recommend the Ginger Chicken Dumplings. Nice bar. Windows all around to take advantage of the ocean view. Parking on the street limited
Nice ocean view, excellent and attentive service! The swordfish dinner was superb!
Great service, great food, beautiful lawn seating.
Food was between very good and excellent. Service was mediocre. The waiter never asked for drinks and went straight to food. No specials were mentioned. Finally my son wanted cappuccino, my wife wanted decaf coffee and i wanted regular coffee. My son got the correct drink, and my wife and I also got cappuccinos (at least she got a decaf)!
The view and ambiance are great. However, The food was just ok.
Excellent food prepared to our liking. Beautiful beach views. And wonderful staff.
Really nice server and really good food. Loved the outdoor seating right by the beach.
Patio dining had the same wonderful views as the indoor restaurant. Everything was terrific.
It's great to finally get a beach front view when the restaurant promises one! We also had special arrangements and these were catered for by our host, the very hospitable Elda. The concierge staff were very helpful. Underground car parking was ample and part-comped. The food, service and ambience were all delightful, some wonderful pasta by the way. We asked to dine on the upper terrace, which was great. We noticed a charming grass lower terrace. The indoors bar and the formal restaurant were both delightful. We have decided to book in at the Shores for the evening when we visit La Jolla Playhouse, we hope to enjoy a late lunch in the Shores main restaurant beforehand. A truly wonderful and relaxed evening spent by the sea. Thanks, guys.
Very Nice view
You can’t beat the view, but the food is mediocre, the espresso is just coffee in a small cup and there was only one bartender on a busy Saturday night (drinks were served very late). Also made a reservation for outside, but when my party arrived, on time, they could not seat us outside.
