We came here for my husbands birthday. The service and drinks were good, but the food was not. 3 of us had the turkey club, and it was so dry I couldn’t eat it. The bill was 250.00 for 4 people and 3 kids. Way overpriced for so so food. Probably will not return.
Sadly, the Shores seems to have gone downhill. It was our fairly regular haunt, but last night was disappointing. The hostess seemed overwhelmed, but the waitress was fine. The menu has changed, and no there were no specials. The salad with shrimp was meh, and the flat iron steak was just OK. The cucumber martini was not good at all--super sweet and very weak. I'll likely not be back for a while with the hope that in time, they'll be back to their pre-pandemic food/serivce soon.
1st time there and the food and location was good. Service provided by Nick was great. Will definitely go back. Mussels appetizer was scrumptious!
Food and drinks were average. Seated at the bar area for dinner. Nice ocean views but wouldn’t go back for the food.
Double fried Buffalo Wings ...not even and raw. Smoke salmon flat bread was ok.
Great view and service - even though they were busy!
Slow service at table.
Food was just ok. Great view and waiters were attentive. This was our first time. We would probably go back for happy hour.
Nice place to watch beach life and eat good food.
The food is much better than I recall from the past. Still confusing is the validation of parking while in the restaurant. This needs to be more transparent and free parking in the garage should be good for 2 hours, not 1.5. Fine dining in most cases cannot be done in 1.5 hours when leaving and going back to the garage.
My wife and I are from out of town looking for seafood and an ocean view- perfect date😀
Hidden Gem. All these years I didn't think of this place.
Views are phenomenal and surprisingly the food was great too. Some places lean on their great views and don't step it up with the food- This place did both.
Old and tired. The food is really awful! Fish taco was smelly with dried out tortilla. Truffle potatoes was dripping in oil. Ordered cappuccino and it came like hot milk (no foam and no coffee taste)
Pretty view but restaurant is dated and food is not very flavorful or good. Limited options and overpriced.
It was nice and quiet with beautiful views. The food and service were both great. The restaurant wasn’t over crowded at all so even if we didn’t have a Rey we would have gotten in right away. I will be visiting again.
I was not happy with the staff. The food was Not that great!!! Way too pricy! $17 dollars for truffle fries and pot stickers that tasted like it came out of the frozen food isle at Costco-not worth it. Me and my family came from all over the country to have dinner here, will not be going back.
I love the view from this restaurant of the La Jolla boardwalk, it’s perfect for people watching. Jessie was an awesome server. The food was decent but nothing spectacular.
The swordfish and the avocado flatbread were very good. Our server knew the menu well, including the wine list, and her suggestions were spot on. Our table overlooked the beach and we enjoyed the sea breeze while watching kids play in the waves.
Cool fine glad we went
Highly recommend, great view, good food, great service
Good food and great service. It had drizzled in the morning so our table had water on it and it seemed that no one had been outside to clean the area. Our view was construction workers working on a new patio. The ocean was visible.
Birthday ! It was amazing! Loved everything!
Beautiful view. Food was good. Waiter kept disappearing and we sat for long periods of time before he came back. Bus boy brought us our dinner and waiter didn’t come back to check. Luckily there was nothing wrong with it and it was very good.
Birthday for 9 people on a Tuesday was so relaxing, love the atmosphere, and the food was great (except for the poke bowl, not my fav)
Amazing ocean view without blockage. We really liked the food and their cocktails were amazing! Definitely recommend it, and we will return there for sure!
We were seated quickly, and the food was tasty. Seemed that we paid a “hotel-restaurant” premium, but overall, a positive experience.
The food was delicious and the service was wonderful too. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience.
My mom and I enjoyed a lovely quiet lunch on Memorial Day. Beautiful table right in front of the window. Basically every seat has an ocean view. Lovely restaurant and delicious food, great server as well
Outside dining by La Jolla Shores. They do a good job and overall it was very enjoyable and accommodated my electric chair bound friend with ease.
Great food, beautiful view, we’ll be back every time we visit!
Overall good visit. They had a memorial weekend menu, however, they didn’t tell you that before hand. I was expecting to try things on the menu but that was not possible with the menu. Food was good and employees were friendly.
The staff are very friendly and the place is great. Food is really good and with reasonable price. The view is wonderful. This is a great place! We love it !
it’s a beautiful location right in the beach. all four of us enjoyed our meals and all had something different. definitely on the list to revisit.
Great view. Wonderful lunch choices. My friend had a perfectly executed hamburger. My wife had a classic Ceasar salad with white anchovies. My steamed mussels in coconut broth with chorizo were as remembered and yearned for since our last visit. Memorable and crave worthy. Oh, and the ocean view is spectacular. Try it. Great wines by the glass list, too.
Food was ok. View is great!
My son turned 26!!!! This was a very welcomed and pleasant experience after this past year of no dining out for us! Our waiter, Jesse, was awesome and brought a fabulous bday dessert and sang Happy Birthday and all the patrons were happily clapping, as were we!!!! Very fun!!

Loved the food, especially the ahi tuna won tons and the mussels!
It took almost 2 hours to receive our food which were hamburgers. We had been told multiple times that our food was coming, but it did not show up. The manger stated that he was 'taking care of us' which we thought meant we were not paying for the bill, but that was not the case. The server and anyone else decided at some point in time that even though we were very gracious about the situation and kept stating that it was ok, they stopped approaching our table. The entire situation was unacceptable. I would never recommend this restaurant.
The food was excellent and the view can’t be beat!
