The Shore Club - Toronto Ratings and Reviews
The restaurant is very impressive with the finishes and décor. We were however disappointed with the main course. We both had fish dishes. We could see that the halibut was of good quality however it was extremely overcooked and dried. The dover sole was not of usual presentation and the portion was very small considering that the prices are in the higher bracket.
Great restaurant. From the moment you walk in the ambiance is set with dim lighting and a great decor. Our waiter Monty was superb, always checking to ensure we have everything we need. Thanks Monty.
My wife and I both order the steak with lobster tail. Was not very impressed with the food, it was just OK.
Overall, great experience and I will visit again.
The filet mignon, mahi mahi and buttermilk fried chicken were all excellent. The key lime pie was homemade, fresh and absolutely delicious. Service was friendly, thoughtful and well-timed. There was unfortunately one hiccup. Our table was mistakenly reserved in the bar area instead of the dining room. However, Krista was quick to assess the situation and she thoughtfully and generously corrected the problem. I am most grateful and highly recommend the Shore Club for an enjoyable dining experience.
Our server Elissa (spelling?) was very friendly, helpful, and thoroughly and gave us excellent service.
We were lucky enough to go for an early weekend dinner so the restaurant was much quieter than it would be on a regular weekday.
The food was very excellent although I was disappointed that the salmon Wellington was no longer on the menu.
My wife and I were visiting Toronto recently from Ohio and dined at the Shore Club before a Maple Leafs game. Food and service were excellent. We shared a king crab cake app, she had dover sole and I had double cut lamb chops, along with a sensational mushroom risotto. The baked Alaska for dessert was also great. The sommelier wine choice was spot on with a nice Canadian chardonnay. Topped off with some ice wine with dessert, Shore Club was definitely a home run. We would highly recommend this restaurant.
This was my second visit to the Shore Club. While the food was again excellent, the service was less than commendable. The server seemed very inattentive, table staff removed plates without asking if we were done and while they still had food on them and our after dinner coffee toook a very long time to arrive. In addition, the beer menu had a Farmhouse Red Ale listed which I ordered. Nowhere in the description did it mention it was a sour ale. I sent it back and the server didn't seem to care nor did she ask why or offer any other suggestions.
On a positive note, we were please with the complimentary amuse bouche and the chocolate truffles presented to my mother for her 75 birthday were appreciated.
Considering the cost for 2 of us ($165.00) with no appetizer and only one drink each, I would question the overall value as the service was not up to par.
The Shore Club is my favourite. I entertained my nephew who is a student for dinner before he went off to Med. School. I mentioned him because he agrees - we both love this restaurant. While enjoying our martini's the chef sent out a sample taste of oysters Rockefeller. My main was Dover Sole in a white wine and butter sauce, to die for, and my nephew had a grilled Shrimps and Scampi dish We shared the mashed potatoes and grilled carrots. All absolutely delicious. I always ask for a quite booth when with a gentleman.
The waiter we had was so professional and first class. He certainly contributed to our evening. I regret not having his name.
Jacob, our server, was the best. Not only did he recommend some excellent dishes, he also gave us a little art tour after our meal to explain come of the amazing art pieces that hand in the restaurant. Everything was delicious but the Coconut Creme Pie was the most divine we had every had! This place is a must and we will be back!
When we arrived for our reservation, our table wasn't ready and we had to sit in the lounge for about 15-20 mins before it was ready. At an average restaurant, I expect that, but from a place like The Shore Club, I have a higher expectation / standard for service.
Otherwise it was a great experience, waitress was excellent, food was great as always, full marks other than the little hiccup at the beginning.
