I feel this is a restaurant that preys on the affluent tourist. I ate here for Valentine’s day and I felt everything was sub par for the price. The food was rather unimaginative and regular for the price and the service was mediocre. Compared to Canoe, a restaurant that is in a similar price range, this restaurant was a disappointment. It seems like a tourist trap in the middle of downtown. Locals stay away.

Ordered the two features. First, a prime rib, ordered medium rare, arrived well done. My guest ordered the risotto, it was the consistency of wall paper paste - quite inedible. At the prices charged, one would expect quality well above what we received. Service was good, but no attempt to fix/replace the poor meals.

From the moment we arrived until the moment of departure, we were treated so well. Monty was our waiter and he was wonderful, as were the maitre d' and other staff. Attentive but discreet, helpful and honest with options. The food was incredible (char and steak), though the risotto was not that tasteful. Other than that, and the whopping wine prices, we loved the meal, ambience and artwork. Definitely would love to go back.

Shore Club far exceeded our expectations, we have been before but only for cocktail hour and buck a shuck. This was our first time in for a sit down meal. It was Winterlicious so I wasn't expecting it to be their all but they really threw it down!!! The meal was fantastic and they had items off their regular menu, which is awesome because I would order what I had again! The service was top notch, super nice staff! Atmosphere was nice but it was still during cocktail hour so a bit noisy, would recommend going after 8pm if you are bothered by people having a good time. Anyway totally recommend Shore Club, we will definitely go back during regular menu. Also thought value for the money was excellent.

I've heard that The Shore Club is really good and has unique delicious dishes, but after my visit, that does not seem to be the case. The food was decent, but the reviews I've heard and read made it seem like it was something more; I guess I had high expectations going in. From my point of view, it's a typical higher-end chain restaurant menu. There's nothing special or unique about the food. I would actually rather go The Keg - they're typical but they do it well.

We were a party of two, and we went for lunch, choosing the Winterlicious menu. We had the salmon tartar and the daily soup, which was a leek soup. The salmon tartar was decent because avocado had been added to it, so it gave it a nice flavour - otherwise it would have been flavourless. The soup had a chili oil on top of it, which made it taste good, had it not been added, then it would have been mediocre. For mains, we had the roasted chicken and the mushroom risotto. They were both fine, but also things that could easily be made at home. No matter where I go, I can never find a place that puts enough mushrooms in the risotto. There was one whole cap in mine, and then bunch of very tiny pieces. But at least they weren’t stingy with the parmesan cheese. Also, the portions were filling, so that was good. For dessert we had the smores tart and the butter tart - I believe that's what it was. The smores was good, but the butter tart was overly sweet, and a couple of bites were more than enough. We let the waitress know about the tart and she was very nice and offered to get a different dessert, but I declined as I was full anyways. She was very thoughtful and to make up for the dessert, she packed us up some truffles that had been made in-house. When I got home and tried a truffle, it wasn't that great, nor was it a truffle, it was just regular chocolate in the shape of a ball.

Overall, the food isn't anything special, but the service is great.

Elegant decor and romantic atmosphere. Friendly staff and service. We ordered from winterliciuos menu, soup was runny and spicy, salad lacked flavor. Arctic Char and Steak entrees were good. Dessert was disappointing, smore's pie and butter tarte made with same hard rock tart shells. Drinks were good and great selection of wines. We also ordered from regular menu crab cake that was delicious and a risotto side order that was dry and over cooked.

Had the Winterlicious dinner menu. Spinach and arugula salad was excellent. Salmon tartare was good, but should have come with a few more crostini. Ended up finishing the salmon with bread (a person at a nearby table did the same). The bread was one small roll split in half for two people. A roll for each of us would have been nice. The arctic char was excellent, with nicely crisped skin. The Manhattan cut prime striploin was okay. Requested medium, but it came well done, slightly tough. The french fries were soggy. Sorbet was good and refreshing. Would have been nice if the butter tart was served slightly warm, but it was room temperature/cold (the vanilla ice cream on top really didn't melt at all). Our server was very friendly, polite and attentive, but we weren't asked if we wanted coffee or tea when the the desserts arrived.

Everything was good except for the very expensive glass of wine I received. I will admit I asked for a glass of "chardonnay" but I would not have agreed to a $30 glass of wine if I had been asked my preference. I suspect the extra-expensive choice may have had something to do with the fact we were there to enjoy the Winterlicious menu. Also the time between finishing our meal and presenting the bill was too long. Perhaps to give me time to come to terms with the $30 glass of wine? All in all, dinner was "ok" but nothing I couldn't have enjoyed in any number of other restaurants and the extra expensive wine did not make it taste any better.

The Shore Club reminded me of The Keg just with less overall value. There wasn't anything special about the food or the restaurant. We were there for Winterlicious and it definitely seemed like they skimped out on some things such as not receiving bread and portions being a little small. The service staff was very attentive. It is in a good location but nothing special. Lot's of restaurants in the city with more personality and better value!

We chose The Shore Club to try their Winterlicious menu before a TSO concert at Roy Thomson Hall. It was also my wife's birthday. We were seated immediately at a spacious table in a nook that afforded som privacy. It was fairly close to the kitchen and we could here the banter from the cooks but it was not objectionable. Clearly' the staff all enjoy working there. Service is friendly and professional. The decor is very upscale with enough separations that you don't feel that you are actually in a very large space, the Winterlicious menu is not extensive but the food is excellent and nicely presented. There is a good selection of wines by the glass. I happened to casually mention in the presence of one server that it was my wife's birthday and they dressed up her dessert with a candle stuck into a strawberry and "Happy Birthday" written in chocolate on the plate. We were not rushed, which often happens during Winterlicious. We did have a look at the regular menu and we'll probably return to try it out.

Nice place with very good service and atmosphere and a very good beer and wine list. The food, however, a big “meh”. In particular, the “blackened shrimp” pasta. I understand that I wasn’t eating in New Orleans, but the shrimp had quite obviously been nowhere near a grill or any blackening spices. They appeared to have been steamed and were limp, bland and tasteless. Maybe I’ll have the burger next time.

Shore Club was okay. There are better options for seafood/steak at the same price point. This restaurant caters to the financial district crowd.

The Crab cake was nothing special, similar to everywhere else you go but smaller portion for a higher price. The sauce accompanying it was too over powering for the cake. Good thing it was served on the side.

Their star dish, the macadamia halibut was nothing special either. It was overcooked and dry and the nuts that it was served with needed to be diced finer. The saffron sauce it was served with added nothing to the dish. I thought the macadamias were a mismatch for the fish and saffron sauce.

My dining companions Arctic Char on the other hand was very good as were the scallops. Fresh, flavourful and well cooked.

Cocktails were made well without the use of sour mixes and etc which was a relief.

The service and decor however were outstanding. A complementary amuse bouche (steak tartar which was excellent) and a desert mocha chocolate truffle (bland) were provided to us. The waiter was personable and attentive without being intrusive. The interior design of the restaurant is attractive and comfortable.

Went here for a date night. The food was okay - everything was tasty and properly prepared, but you can easily find much better food nearby. Where this place falls down is the value for money - the specials and mains would be properly priced at about half the advertised price. Also take note that the oyster price advertised is only applicable if you’re sitting in the lounge area, and not if you’re sitting in the dining area, where you will be paying 4x the price. It is mentioned on the poster apparently but still feels a bit scummy. This place has a target client and is very much designed for the expense account dinners with clients where you pay a premium for mediocre food. If you’re looking for a nice meal and good value this is not the place for you.

Having been several times prior to this weekend I know the service to be much better than what we encountered. The staff & management were aware of their shortcomings and all hands were on deck but the service was terribly off. I will most likely try the restaurant at least once more to ensure it was an odd night for them but concerned that this may be the new way.

We went for the buck a shuck oysters in the lounge and dinner. The oysters were small but delicious. We also ordered the braised short ribs and risotto as a side (squash risotto). The sauce on the braised short ribs was great and flavourful, but I found them a bit on the dry side. The squash risotto was creamy and rich. Both were good sized portions.

The Restaurant is beautiful. The service was very good. Some of the food was amazing. Steaks were prepared perfectly. The fish was prepared very nicely too. Some of the side dishes were great. Especially the mac & cheese and scalloped potatoes. The roasted broccoli wasn’t really roasted. Was actually almost raw and even room temperature in parts. Green beans were underdone and plain tasting. Desserts were disappointing. Chocolate brownie was dry and too sweet, apple crumble apple’s seemed preserved in some way. It was still an enjoyable evening and I would return for a special occasion.

Pros
Nice Ambiance, high ceilings, extensive wine list, courteous and attentive service, good location in entertainment district, close to public transit.

Food well prepared and presented, portion sizes generous (Steak & Lobster, Steak Tartar, Salmon Tartar, Mac & Cheese, Roasted Broccoli, Spicy Mushrooms, Baked Alaska)

Cons
Chairs too low and soft, steak was properly cooked but somewhat "stringy" considering the price. Sense that the seafood is more the specialty. The lobster tail was beautifully prepared and presented and tasted delicious.

In Summary
Would recommend The Shore Club for a special occasion or treat but keep in mind it is a higher end restaurant and therefore priced accordingly.

The service was slow to start then got worse when we waited almost an hour for our dinner to arrive since the whole Atlanta Hawks team came in. Our waiter had apologized a few times but luckily I wasn’t too hungry after my appetitizers but my husband was angry & wanted to speak with the Manager. Fortunately our waiter was very understanding and gave us drinks on the house & some discounts off our meal for waiting so long. I did had to complain that my fish was missing the king crab meat & shrimp inside but our waiter gave me a fresh plate quickly. Food was good, not great.
