My 3rd year anniversary with my boyfriend
My waiter Lue was amazing and kept us entertained the entire evening. The New York Strip loin steaks, the garlic mash potatoes, the Mac and cheese were amazing choices that I recommend. Andrew the Wine Manager was very personable and made us feel like we were special guests for the evening. Sasha and I will definitely come back.
Our dinner was beautifully cooked and presented. We were celebrating a friend's retirement and we received an amazing surprise of sparkling wine toasts and a plate of congratulatory truffles at the end. It made the dinner so much more memorable.
Thanks so much to the staff and chefs at the Shore Club on Wellington!
Not a place I’d recommend. Filet was very fatty and rare when I asked for medium. Side dishes were okay, not prepared to a high standard. Kind of like eating on a cruise ship. Wines by the glass were mostly poorer quality.
Food, service, and overall experience were fantastic! Monty went above and beyond to make our experience memorable and special! He was professional, knowledgeable, and fun! Thank you Monty!
Excellent service and food was great too. Nice spot for a lunch meeting.
Had a large dinner party at 8pm this past Saturday night. The restaurant is beautiful, and our server was incredible. The restaurant was quiet & ambiance was gorgeous. Food was great. They gave me a nice birthday dessert also! Thank you so much!
Great dinner....a very expensive wine list and while the wine was lovely, it would be much preferable if they had more reasonable choices....there are some very nice wines out there that do not cost $100. Because it was a special occasion, we chose to go with wine but under normal circumstances that would not necessarily happen. The seafood tower which 3 of us shared was a great choice, and a good value for the quality of seafood.
The prime rib was a special and it was excellent. Arctic char and the shrimp and scallops dish were fabulous as well.
First time. Good experience. Very tasty
Great spot. Food was excellent. Nice wine list. Great service.
We booked a table for 8 this past Saturday night at 7pm. It took us 3 hours to have two courses!!! Service was terrible. The restaurant was not busy and we were not attended to well at all. Sat 40 minutes waiting to order. 40 mins for appetizers and then another long wait for our main course. Once we were done it took 30 minutes for our table to be cleared and when they brought dessert menus she didn’t come back to ask us if we wanted coffee or dessert for about 25 mins. By then it was 10:15 and we all had to leave. Perhaps she wasn’t motivated given there was an automatic 18% tax added for tip. We are all fairly easy to please, but none of us will be back. Big disappointment.
My Pistachio crusted salmon was lovely and fully enjoyed however, my butter tart selected dessert was a disappointment. The curst was too hard/dry and the filling was lacking and it had no flavor. I'd remove that selection from the menu.
Fabulous service and great food. But be prepared to pay for it. It you want to treat someone special, this restaurant is a great choice.
This was mummy first time dining at The Shore Club. Our waitress, Ali, was exceptional. Knowledgeable about the wine list and the menu. The decor was very nice and made for an enjoyable ambiance for dinner with dear friends. The food was below average, though. The items our party enjoyed the most were the lamb chops and the macaroni and cheese. I had the striploin steak which was very fatty and filled with gristle. It was not a good cut of meat. Aside from the quality of the cut, the flavor was not enjoyable. Perhaps it was old or not seasoned properly? Another friend ordered the filet, cooked medium, and it came from the kitchen as rare, so he had to send it back. Maybe because it was a slow, cold, January night the kitchen was not at the top of their game. Nonetheless, I can’t see myself going back nor recommending this restaurant to others, which is a shame because Ali truly made the evening enjoyable and memorable.
Overpriced. Mediocre food. Service was uneven. Food runners were great. Waiter did a.poor job of anticipating needs and was not warm.
Wonderful place for our birthday celebration! Great food & ambiance!Ally our waitress was exceptional!
The overall experience was excellent. I had noted several food allergies in the OpenTable reservation and they made sure to mention and confirm them, so that was appreciated.
The food was delicious and plentiful, with the exception of the Caesar salad that was small for $14. The Oysters were fresh and the side dishes were tasty, including Creamed Spinach, Toasted Brussels Sprouts and Onion Rings.
The NY Strip was underdone, so they promptly removed and replaced with one that was correctly cooked. I enjoyed my Seafood Ciopinni and found the portion to be excellent. We dined with two adults and two young teenagers and the ambience was just right for all of us.
Excellent food and excellent service. Highly recommended!
Service-Good,although we didnt get the spinach on the house like she said we would (that played a role in how i tipped)
Food-We both had NY steak, mash potatoes cone separately at $12, also had the cesar salad which was ok.As mentioned we ordered spinach as a side and that disnt come out with the other food.We ask about it,and she said it would be on the house. But the bill came and they still charged $12 for it.We skipped dessert.
Drinks-Good options for wine.We had red wine at 9.oz didnt want to over due it on wine because we were celebrating new years and plan on drinking later in the night.
Atmosphere-Pretty good.Had our baby with us,and there were others kids as well.A few feiends hanging out, some people doing date nights.Nice set up inside.
Overall-I would recommend and would come back.Bill was over $200 total for 2 people which is about right for any restaurant.I would like to try other things on the menu,so I would be back.
New Years eve
I go the the Shore Club often. Because of timing I messed up our original New Years Eve dinner plans. Surprised we got an early seating but I knew we would have a great meal there.
The seafood is always first classic and there are many steak options. My husband and I really like their craft beer menu. One of the things that keep us coming back.
There’s a pretty good happy hour too if you decide to stop by in the afternoon.
A new year’s tradition. Reliably good food.
Awesome food, beautiful and good spirited server.
Excellent location and food. Ideal for a pre-theater meal. Their prix fixe menu for theater goers is a good value.
We totally enjoyed our dining experience here before taking in Handel’s Messiah performed by the Toronto Symphony Orchestra at Roy Thompson Hal!
What a night!
Lou was our server and he was a master at making us feel welcomed. Lou walked us through the experience making sure we were happy with our dinner selection. From where we were sitting, it appeared all the staff were working together to keep order and keep the guests happy.
Nice evening. We were not in a rush, so the speed of service didn't bother us. My strip was tougher than I'm used to, and I've eaten a lot of strip steaks in my time. Flavourful, but hard to cut. The lobster tail was quite good, sweet and prepared just right.
Thoroughly enjoyed our first experience at The Shore Club. The food was tasty and nicely presented but I struggled to find the value in the $9 a la carte plate of French fries and even more expensive plate of beets. Service was friendly and excellent (thanks Lou!) with the birthday girl being given the attention she deserved.
We celebrated our friend's 20th Anniversary. Everything was great!
Excellent choice of restaurant for any special occasion.
Exceptional wine list. Steak was out of this world. Service was exceptional. Fantastic room. Celebrate my mom's 98th birthday there and they treated her like a queen!
Very overpriced! Small and very expensive portion sizes for appetizers and sides. $14 for asparagus! Server was attentive at first then abandoned us to be attentive to a larger party. Kitchen extremely slow. Main fish/meat sizes were okay. Fine dining, support staff ran food and were very good. Go to Rodney’s instead.
Our waiter Sean was amazing. Had s great knowledge of the food and wine. Our food was wonderful, only thing I could say is the wait between main and desert was quite long.
First time there and enjoyed it all.
Wonderful meal and overall experience. My only ‘negative’ - it would have been nice to have a Cab Sav by the glass option that was less than $40! Otherwise - a 10!
Unfortunately food was under cooked
Food came out in good time. Our section was busy, it took a few tries to get staff attention to request some items which at the price-point shouldn’t be an issue - aside from that my steak was done to perfection ! All sides were deliciously done as well. The piece de resistance was their in-house coconut cream pie. To die for.
For the last 20+ years, my cousins from Woodstock, Ontario come to Toronto to meet me for a One of a Kind craft show weekend. They are farm-to-table/locavores who appreciate good food and wines and I (as the Torontonian) always made, and still make, an effort to plan our Saturday evening meal at some place with excellent food and great atmosphere and sufficient lighting to enable us to read the menu and wine list without asking wait staff for a flashlight (but THAT'S a story about ANOTHER establishment to which we will NEVER return - 'nuff said!).
We have been to The Shore Club at least once, maybe twice previously, and have found the food excellent, the wine list exceptional and the atmosphere conducive to chatting over cocktails and dinner without having to scream at each other across the table.
This past Saturday evening was no exception: our reserveration was for 7 pm, we were seated promptly and then suddenly it was 11:15 pm and there was almost no one left in the dining room........so we really had to leave.....FAB!
Our server, Alyssa (sp?), was wonderful - great personality and very helpful when it came to making our dinner and wine selections.
I was on the restaurant side in a booth. Amazing ambiance... plus you can actually hear the people at your table and enjoy conversation without screaming. Food was amazing as was the service. Great wine list.
The steaks were served cold and even the second serving of the meal was only warm... the kitchen has a seriou problem with quality
Great food and excellent service! Everything tasted delicious and our server was humorous and fabulous!
