Great food, good service...a nice find! I live in the area and have gone to the different versions of the Ship and this version is the best one. I would go back.
The restaurant is one of the few quiet places to eat and talk. The service was great and the twin lobster special will bring me back for more.
Excellent meal with great service and ambiance. A hidden gem that has come back nicely.

Highly recommend The Ship. My Husband and I haven't been to the restaurant in awhile and we were happy we tried it again. We dined at the restaurant after attending a wake on Tuesday night and were shocked at the inexpensive prices for dinner for 2 - it included a bottle of wine, salad, entrée and dessert - all for $40.00. More importantly, the food was very good and we plan to dine there in the future.
Food and service was great; great rolls! It's conveniently located with plenty of parking.
The food was quite good, but the background music sounded fake, like old Muzak. How about some real jazz recordings?
Everything was outstanding. The food was amazing, the drinks delicious, our server was knowledgeable and excellent in every way.
Excellent seafood We had 3 excellent seafood dishes - abundant and fair-priced and fresh fish.
We have been to this restaurant many times and have recently found the food very good. However, this time it was not and that was very disappointing. We enjoy the atmosphere and it the prices were of good value. We will not be back for awhile but will continue to monitor the reviews to see what other are saying
Second time I have been back in the last few months. Used to frequent the old ship years ago. Glad it is back! Still nice place to go and enjoy food and friends.
Our waitress was wonderful, very accommodating, kind, considerate, always coming to see if we needed anything.
Enjoyable evening, will be back!
So it's been years since I went there. And I was only reminded of it because I was booking a different restaurant on Route 1, and on the bottom of the page it showed other restaurants in the area, the Ship being one of them. So I liked what I saw of their menu, and off the wife and I went. Very happy with the meal itself. My wife had the shrimp and scallop risotto, really good, and I had the seafood Cioppino, which included 1/2 a lobster. The 1/2 lobster was actually meatier than a normal whole lobster, in other words, this was 1/2 of a 2 1/2 pound lobster or better. It was delicious, and I couldn't finish it. For $28, it was well worth it. Overall we really enjoyed it. Only minor negative was we thought the waitress could have been a little more attentive ( she forgot to get a lime for my beer as I had asked). Aside from that, was great experience, the manager/ owner even came over to ask about our meal, and even helped me put my lobster bib on!
The service was great, very friendly. The food was delicious and the portion sizes were great! Everyone was satisfied!
Numerous visits over past two months. Drinks are great! Apps and salad are top notch! Sirloin and haddock are go to. Always spot on. Marco and Sosio are great addition to route 1.
My family of 4 had a great dinner last week at The Ship. Our vegetarian was happy with a custom veggie risotto, and our fish lovers were extremely happy with the cioppino (excellent quality and big portions) and halibut. Nice appetizers, too, with a fine beet salad and crab cakes. Service was fine; we had a leisurely dinner.
