The Shannon Rose Irish Pub - Ramsey Ratings and Reviews
The restaurant was totally packed, and in the parking lot it tool a long time to find a space (due to a lot of Christmas parties, I presume). However, the service was nevertheless very good and the food was very tasty. The martini was good, but very disappointing since it was a "tiny tini"--the 6 oz martini glass was only about 3/4 full (without my 3 olives therein).
We arrived at the restaurant 15 minutes early and we’re seated immediately. Our waitress, Saba, was extremely friendly and upbeat which helped make for a great evening. She made sure our drinks were full all night, made great recommendations off the menu for appetizers, the corned beef rolls and the fried mozzerella, entrées, chicken O’Henry, and desserts, Brownie Sundae and Apple Crisp, All in all, she helped make it a wonderful evening.
You wont believe but this Irish bar is a great place for Vegans. Lots of choices from boneless buffalo wings, vegan sheperds pie etc etc. That said I am not Vegan, my daughter is, so I like the regular shepards pie, all day breakfast, superb fish and chips, burger special, boneless wings etc etc. The beer selection is excellent also, try the Shannon Rose ale.
The Shannon Rose is a lively place with outstanding service and great bar alternatives. There are hand crafted cocktails on the menu and seasonal cocktails (and food). The appetizers are generally quite good and there are numerous choices for vegetarians and vegans, which is unusual for a pub menu. The fried pickles are out of this world and the buffalo cauliflower has just right heat. The non-vegetarian menu items were rated well by my dining companions, but I found the vegetarian Sloppy Joe was bland. It was basically some vegan imitation meat. There was no thick sauce that gives the "Sloppy" Joe its name. I had wanted to order a Gardein veggie burger, but was informed that the usual one was not available. I would still recommend the Shannon Rose and I will return.
Had a group of 10 and they tucked us in nicely to a hightop booth - it was perfect! We were having drinks and ordered a ton of appetizers - everything was wonderful. Fish tacos (a special) were fresh and different, pulled pork on the poutine was delish - wish the pork was on its own! corned beef and mac&cheese egg rolls were outstanding. And BBQ boneless wings were crispy and perfectly sauced. So many drink choices - Beer cold, drinks interesting and beautifully served. All were happy. The waitress was wonderful - made great recommendations for drinks and was patient taking order from a boisterous group. Only disappointment was the dessert...ice cream was icy and bland - but folks seemed to like the rice pudding (interesting option). Recommend for a fun night out!
We went to The Shannon Rose Irish Pub for a friend's birthday party. We were seated right as we arrived. We were able to enjoy each other's company and the food was fantastic! One of the attendees is a vegetarian and she was super impressed with the vegetarian options. The manager even came out to make sure we were doing ok. The whole group mentioned what a great time they had at dinner. We can't wait to go back!
Service was great; food was ok. Live music started up half way through dinner. I don't mind it but this band was one of the worst I have ever heard. They butchered every song and on top of it all they were very loud; too loud. We were a party of 8 sitting at a round table and we couldn't hear each other and we weren't in the room with the band. Will not go there again with a large group and will not go there on Friday nights since they obviously don't have an idea of what is music and what is not.
Went w the family for Father's Day lunch. Food was just ok, my wife had to ask waitress 3 times for water, they messed up 2 things on our order & then were charged twice for 1 item. When we showed the waitress she said, "Oh so should I change it?"🙄. The beer was good at least!
Had Mother's Day brunch with our family. The food was varied from eggs, french toast, bacon, sausage to a carving station. There was a tremendous choice and quite tasty. Buffet style, which worked well. For the $29.00 per person, I feel they should include 1 drink(other than coffee or tea).
Disappointing Mother's Day brunch reservation.
The hostess was rude upon arrival. Then we found out that it was buffet only, $29pp and $14 for kids, rather expensive for an average at best buffet.
Our waitress was nice, polite and friendly but definitely overwhelmed.
The experience would probably be better on a regular day.
We went to Shannon Rose for Easter Brunch with my family. The spread was decent but not extensive and they didn't offer any dessert. One very strange thing is that when the bill came, there was a random charge for 1/2 Easter with no explanation. We had to ask the server what the charge was and then we were told that the per person brunch charge was in the system from last year and that is how they had to charge this year's additional cost. It was strange and in very poor taste in my opinion. If they couldn't update their system, then they should have absorbed the cost or at the very least - explain the charge before they handed the bill and walked away. We would not go back or recommend there for brunch.
Went over St Patricks Day Weekend and the specials were spot on. The potatoe cakes, lamb stew, and beers hit the spot. We actually went here because my daughter who is a vegan said they have a great selection for her. Max the waiter was superb and when he was busy the rest of the crew helped out. I have been many times to Shannon Rose but this one really left a huge impression on me.
Very good pub food. Great selection of beers. Been there several times. Very loud. Very crowded. If you have a reservation on the weekend don't expect to get seated on time. Only complaint is that 5 meals came out at once and the 6th took another 10 minutes at least. Had to ask for horseradish 3 times before it was brought. However, will be back again.
