About The Settlers Inn
The Settlers Inn is a place to gather. The arts & crafts decor reflects our emphasis on simplicity & artistry. This commitment is also emphasized through our use of local organic farmers & producers. In the chef owned farm-to-table restaurant, our menu, breads & desserts are all hand-crafted to take advantage of the freshest fruits, vegetables, & herbs of the season. We believe our use of local products helps to continue the tradition of small farming in our community. Our bluestone fireplace entices guests to bask in the warmth of a crackling fire after a day of cross-country skiing, while Summer offers dining alfresco on the terrace.
The Chestnut Tavern offers guests a more casual atmosphere. The wine program is an integral part of the dining experience. Our wine list has received an award of excellence by Wine Spectator for thirteen years.

The Settlers Inn Ratings and Reviews
This is the second time my wife and I had dinner and next -day breakfast at the Settlers Inn.
The food is very good, the service is outstanding, the environment cozy and inviting and I believe it is a very good value. The live piano player made the meal a truly memorable experience. We would return again without hesitation.
As always the Settlers Inn didn't disappoint. Came a bit early so we could have drinks by the fire. Great ambiance. 2 of us had the Old Fashioned drink special garnished with a maple glazed bacon and it was excellent. 4 of us shared the Ode to Duck appetizer special and one of my favorite standby appetizers (Blooming Grove Smoked Trout). Both were excellent. Everybody enjoyed the main courses and we finished it by sharing 2 great desserts. The wait staff was great as always!
As always, The Settlers Inn was delicious. We had a lovely drink from the bar by the roaring fire and then proceeded to a fantastic table. There was literally something for everyone on the menu - and a willingness to make some slight modifications based on dietary needs. So good. And the atmosphere is great - quaint and classic.
As much as I hate to say it, the food was disappointing and mediocre; pasta was quite under cooked (billed as al dente) and really the food did not thrill or sing. However, the salad under the chicken was very fresh and excellent. One might not be as nit-picky if the food served was in line with the cost (although that is no excuse). Beer was overpriced although it did not prevent us from each having a #. Ambience and signature birdseed bread as always was pleasing and little quince jelly appetizers were delightful and a tease.
One of the finest dining experiences in the area. Local ingredients cooked to perfection. Always a great selection to suit any taste. Excellent wine list and delicious cocktails. An extensive beer list also. Wonderful ambiance and the service is always exceptional. With beautiful guest rooms, this is also perfect for that nice weekend away. Very highly recommended for any occasion.
As usual, Settlers does not disappoint. We have been dining here for almost 30 years and every dinner has been a wonderful experience. You start with a cocktail by the enormous fire place in the lobby and then sit for a delicious dinner of farm fresh local ingredients prepared in a 5 star manner. Everything about the dinner is top notch and memorable. You won't be disappointed with a visit to Settlers!
We'd been anticipating our dinner at The Settlers Inn since we received a gift card over a year ago. We went on a Saturday night and the place was packed in spite of being the coldest night of the winter so far. The warmth of the fire places was so welcoming and the Christmas decor done with real class. After about a 5 minute wait, the host greeted us and offered to hang our coats. (We felt right at home!) The ambiance was warm and charming. The noise level a bit high. We were amazed by the wine selection. Service was excellent but a bit slower than we're used to. I recommend the traditional American cuisine items from the menu as opposed to an Italian dish. My husband's red snapper dish with Cuban rice was delicious but my shrimp and scallops over fettuccine was very bland; maybe they forgot the cheese! We felt the prices were fair; even the bottled wine prices. We'll be back!
New Year's Eve brunch for three. Guest had steak & eggs, loved it. Partner had eggs benedict, very good. I had onion soup and the special omelet, very good. Once again the Settlers bunch had the place decorated beautifully for the holidays. Service was professional. Perhaps the best meal of the many we have had in this venue. If only the onion soup were served in a non-metallic vessel!
Classic setting. Very good food, thoughtful seasonal menu, extensive wine and beer selections. Should be a gem - however service was slow and largely inattentive - so much so that my meal was served lukewarm. Considering the price - I would expect better...
We had a holiday dinner here. We love the big fireplace and the festive mood. It is a beautiful Inn, local spot, and nice for an elegant meal. I would say the service was a bit slow, but they were crowded. Also, I am vegetarian and ordered the three sides. Would have been nice if I was told they were huge portions! Not a lot of vegetarian options. My partner had a nice meal, wine list is good, and the bar serves great cocktails. Overall, great ambience with average menu, in a great location.
We were there last summer and the food was superb. Ordered one of the same items this time and it was lackluster-not bad, just average. The food was presented beautifully but was bland to eat- no surprising, interesting flavors-boring Brussels sprouts. The venue is lovely. I’m wondering if they were just very busy that evening or they had a new chef. I would try them again because of such a wonderful first experience.
My husband and I greatly enjoyed the Holiday Brunch. The Christmas decorations were lovely and added to the ambience. $49 included bottomless mimosas, starter, entree and dessert. A wide range of choices were available. The service was excellent - attentive and friendly.
The restaurant at the Settler's Inn is beautiful in any season but takes on a special aura in the holiday season. Tastefully decorated, the main room has a stately ambiance and feels cozy despite the fact that the room is large. Start the meal with a cocktail by the fire and then enjoy the quiet background music while sampling the menu. We all had the quail appetizer with pear tart. Out of this world! And once the staff knew it was my birthday, dessert was on the house.
The restaurant is beautifully decorated for the holidays and is especially inviting this time of year. The menu is diverse and the food is presented very attractively and we like the local ingredients that the chef builds his menu from. more importantly, our meal was delicious. the only drawback to this particular experience is that our waitress was busy with other tables and after taking our wine order, we waited for the wine and to order our meals an excessively long time. Finally, she enlisted the help of other staff and our wine arrived and shortly thereafter our order was taken. Both our meals and the wine was very enjoyable.
We absolutely loved the Settler’s Inn! We stayed at Ledges and went for my boyfriend’s birthday. (Note - They don’t have Uber here and we had to call a private driver since there was no shuttle service between the two sister hotels, a bit disappointing.) I heard great things about Settlers prior to dining and it did not disappoint. We were seated at a nice, quiet table by the front window. We started with French onion soup that was AMAZING! And portion was just enough so it would not spoil dinner. Then we had grilled calamari salad - I would skip this as it was super small With what seemed like 2 pieces of calamari. Next we had the filet mignon and the salmon. Both were generous portions that were cooked to PERFECTION! Even the mashed potatoes were tasty. Finally, we were treated to a complimentary dessert for his birthday - the British toffee pudding - which I am so glad I had the chance to try! It was great! Service here was impressive - everyone was so kind and attentive without being overbearing. Restaurant was nice and upscale without being stuffy. Loved the beautiful piano music. We will def be back!
