We love the food....
We had an excellent dinner here.
The atmosphere is beautiful: this is an Arts and Crafts style building, with great attention to detail.
The craft beer list is outstanding. We had the mussels appetizer: they were fresh and plump, in a great sauce. This was a special, not always on the menu.
The bread is homemade, and delicious: it arrived hot from the oven. My husband had the duck, which was very good. I had the vegetarian meatballs; the tomato sauce was outstanding.
Lovely atmosphere as always, but service was very slow and crepes and omelets were underwhelming.
We’ve always loved the Settlers Inn, but when we stopped in with our daughters for brunch, we were dismayed with the service. We payed 39.00 per adult...was to include an amuse bouche of mini pancakes, which we never received, bottomless mimosas (of which we mostly saw the bottom), and dessert, for which we had to track down the manager to find out our choices. The food was good, but not excellent. Our server, while extremely friendly, was MIA. Not what I remembered about our trips to Settlers over 10 years ago. We should have chosen the Tavern. Way too expensive for the experience. Quite disappointed.
Settlers Inn is a long standing family favorite...But halibut was very dry, no sommelier was on hand, and band thumping noise from below, unacceptable. Will hesitate to return at your prices. Server was great, however, did her best with wine list and very attentive, though obviously extremely busy.
The food is outstanding. I don't think we've ever had a bad meal there. I like that the food is "farm to table." Everything is always fresh and prepared just a little differently than usual, but the end result is always delicious. We've been going to Settlers Inn for years; our daughter had her wedding there. Everything from the food, wine and service is always outstanding. It's nice to get dressed to go out for dinner. Settlers Inn is special and a meal there is always a treat.
Foodie Weekend - Went to the Settlers for dinner with my wife. Service was outstanding. Being after the "season", much more relaxed and comfortable atmosphere.
I had the Lamb shank and my wife had the Duck. Both were prepared and presented nicely. The wine list is quite extensive. Great selections of both white and red.
Overall dinner was very good.
We have dined at Settlers at least 40 times in the 30 years since we built our "weekend" house nearby. Might be closer to 50 times. Tuesdays were described to us as a midwinter stimulus that has blossomed into an institution. Very good burger and a decent beer for $10? Great brainstorm and let's hope it continues.
Only problem was that one of the decent brews on tap was Guinness and they were out of it at 6:45 last night. No, no, no, guys - got to plan ahead better than that!
Thankfully the loud party near our table allowed us the chance to speak normally with each other after about 30 minutes of yelling on their part by exiting. Of course they had finished and then stuck around over empty glasses for at least 20 minutes. Rude.
I'm a regular customer - and more than happy to bring friends, family, and business guests, knowing the service will be great, the meal memorable, and the atmosphere very accommodating to a pleasant evening and conversation.
food is always good. Was seated 15 minutes later than our reservation AND the noise level was so high that my spouse and I could barely hear above the packed restaurant and piano player. We've been there before on a weekend, but the restaurant has never been this noisy and distracting.
It was an absolute delight eating here. Food and service were amazing.
My husband and I celebrated our 33rd anniversary and our dinner was fantastic. We loved the atmosphere which was very romantic. We also received a free glass of wine to celebrate. Thanks for making our evening special.
Our second trip to this rustic, fabulous restaurant. We shared fois gras bites, that were mouthwateringly sweet and smooth. The smoked trout, which we had had the previous time, was tough and over smoked this time, but we still got a few good bites.
Had the lemon chicken thighs with risotto, and it was crispy and lemony. Very good. Also had the pork tenderloin special with a fruit salsa which was good, but not as good as the chicken.
Had the same waiter, Sean, as last time, and he was knowledgeable and smooth as before. The dining room is lodgey/ Tudor, a lovely room. However, many guests were eating out on the terrace, despite the warm humid air.
This a is a beautiful place, with great plantings and landscaping, and old fashioned luxury inside. Worth a trip.
Beautiful, historic Inn - wonderful setting with nice outdoor deck and gardens. Food was excellent - had the lamb shank, it was great. Service was mediocre - but it was Labor Day weekend and crowded. We would definitely go back
Special dinner on Labor Day Weekend.
We love to visit the Hawley area with its quaint shops and wonderful dining experiences. The Settlers Inn is the flagship of a great family run business.
Great service, wonderful food and an interesting and value packed wine list!
We celebrated our 45th wedding anniversary with family, all were impressed with food, service and drinks. We will come back.
We always come here when we want a special evening, never disappointed.
My third time dining at the Settlers Inn as a detour on the way back from the Adirondacks. Once again, a stunning, award-winning wine list and well-prepared, locally sourced food. The outdoor porch is idyllic in the right weather. Discreet, intelligent service.
We have been frequent diners for over 30 years. We have never been disappointed.
My friend and I live in Shohola Twp. and look for good places to eat. There are many in the area that we have enjoyed, and this will be on the top of our list. We will be back in the near future.
As always, our dinner was different, exiting and delicious. We had the red snapper special for two that was perfectly done with no bones and beautifully presented. The red sauce that surrounded the fish was exceptional. The piano player played songs that we knew and at a perfect sound level so as not to interrupt our conversation. It was a perfect evening.
Salad was terrible ...dressing watery no taste...This restaurant although beautiful setting...misses the mark on one thing or another....no home run here..
We have visited Settler's Inn a number of times before and will be back. The food is always interesting and well prepared. There is a good selection of wines by the glass at reasonable prices. There was only one choice for a Pinot Noir by the glass, and it was from CA. It would have been nice to see a good Oregon Pinot on the menu.
We always enjoy a meal at Settler's Inn, and this time was no different. We went for brunch with our group of eight. The service was wonderful, it was easy to have conversation around the table, and everyone enjoyed his or her entrée. After brunch we took a walk in the beautiful gardens and visited the Potter's Shed. We'll be back!
The Settlers Inn was suggested to me by a work colleague. We found the atmosphere comfortable and the food choices varied. We enjoyed everything we ordered. The service was excellent. Our waitress was pleasant, personable, and attentive. We especially enjoyed that we were not being rushed out, and could enjoy the dinner at leisure.
The noise level was fairly loud during the beginning of the evening, but it was not uncomfortably so. The sound level was, in part, added to by children who were dining with their families. It is nice that this restaurant is a family-friendly place to dine. Later in the evening, the sound level was much lower and more conducive to quiet conversation. A pianist was playing contemporary music though most of the evening.
We were extremely please and we intend to return in the future.
This is our special restaurant when we come to our weekend home. We try to come here whenever we have a special occasion, when we come up for vacation we also like to visit. We have tried dinner for every season of the year and Settler’s never disappoints from appetizer to dessert ! It’s one of our favorite restaurants!
Always 5 Stars !!
We recently had our anniversary dinner and again we were not disappointed. The wait staff is very attentive without being intrusive. We never felt rushed to finish a course before the next one came.
The food was outstanding as well as the presentation. Many thanks for your best wishes on our 55th.
We will be back next year!!
The graden was lovely, spot to have a cocktail while waiting for your table. The jazz on the deck was great, it made the atmosphere even more pleasant.
The restaurant was beautiful. The ambiance inside and out was truly lovely. The food was excellent and the service was equally as good. This is a great restaurant for a nice dinner in the Lake Wallenpaupack area.
I live only a mile from the Settlers Inn and it remains my favorite restaurant. I have never had food that wasn’t outstanding and the atmosphere is cozy and beautiful. I love the old but very well kept building from the oversized sofa in front of the gigantic fireplace (always lit with real wood in the colder seasons) to the sound of the wood creaking on the stairs leading to the bathrooms. During the winter holidays the tree in the dining room and decorations are gorgeous. I will never get tired of the Settlers Inn!
We've been to the Settlers Inn many times and it NEVER disappoints. This Sunday was our 14 anniversary and it had to be Settlers, the location for our first formal date. Always the finest food, wine, and spirits. We've stayed in the Inn -- an excellent option for a romantic night away from home, we've just come for the bar, we've enjoyed the gardens, and LOVE the restaurant.
We give the Settlers Inn the highest possible rating -- our favorite place in Northeastern Pennsylvania!!
Great way to celebrate my husband’s 50th Birthday with friends. Dinner was excellent.
Celebrating wedding anniversary. Great ambiance on the porch overlooking the gardens. Terrific service. Great food. Would certainly recommend for a special occasion.
Excellent as usual, every time we are in the area we never miss a chance to go there we go there for our birthdays anniversary and just every day dining every chance we get
You will not have a finer experience in NE PA. Great food, excellent service and a phenomenal wine list.
Food was amazing. Taste and temperature and amount was perfect.
Superlative experience. I wanted to order every dish on the menu but settled for tomato riccota cheese salad (A+), onion soup (A-) and foie gras (A- because of multiple small bites, a bit too creative but very tasty). My husband had duck for the main dish (A+) Basically all the dishes were A; some slightly more exciting , but all done, presented, and served excellently. The dining room and the building feel classic
yet cozy. The servers know what they are doing. Will definitely retun and soon.
Can’t beat Tuesday night burger and brew special. If you want a great burger, then go on Tuesdays. Best burger around.
We have been going there once a year for over 25 years, to celebrate famiy and friends on vacation
together. When my children were small the inn arranged for us to have a table in the library room,
where they could sprawl on the floor and color while we enjoyed a wonderful meal. The garden is very
special, the food is very good, the ambience is lovely.
Food was great! Service was a little lacking up until the end of the meal.
