We made a reservation, which was suggested on their site. Upon arrival the host greeted us and lead us to our table. The Waitress came to our table and introduced herself and made some suggestions. We decided on the Alaskan King Crab legs (at market price) and the Seafood Mixed Grill. Along with our order we were served a slice of Rum cake, a slice of bread, a corn muffin and a scoop of Orange sherbert to clean our pallet with. The food was excellent and served hot. The waitress also was quite engaging and kept out drinks filled. A very nice place.
I truly enjoy having dinner there. I do plan to come back real soon!
THE FOOD WAS EXCELLENT. OUR WAITER, DEVON WAS VERY NICE. WORTH THE DRIVE FROM RICHMOND VA.
First time to eat there. Service was good and the food excellent. We enjoyed our experience and will go back if ever in Williamsburg again.
I've been visiting the Seafare for nearly 30 years and this was the first time I was disappointed. I had the Norwegian salmon which was tasty - but my food was unbelievable cold: the inside of the salmon, the vegetables and the potato. Really COLD. 3 of the 4 in our group experienced the same. Our server, Bobby, was very attentive and we did not raise this to his attention.
We will try again because of the Seafare track record but we will ask for the food to be warm.
This is a seafood restaurant, one would assume they knew how to cook fish! I had very expensive halibut that was tasteless and very over cooked! Would not recommend this restaurant! I left it uneaten on my plate and waitress said nothing! It was my birthday which I told the waitress and she did not care! Bad choice!
The halibut was dry and tasteless for the price. The salad and soup were good as was the service. But I wont take a chance on this restaurant. It is too expensive to experiment.
We enjoyed our anniversary date at the Seafare restaurant. Everything was delicious except for the shrimp in the crab stuffed shrimp. We enjoyed the pre-meal sweet bread. The crab dip appetizer was my husband's favorite part of the meal. The sherbet before the main course was a nice surprise. We ordered fried flounder and stuffed shrimp for our main courses. As stated before the shrimp was not good. It tasted like something was wrong with it. Fortunately the plentiful portion of crab meat that the shrimp were stuffed with was excellent. The baked potatoes, vegetable medley, and flounder were excellent, as well. The corn muffins were an added treat. The waiter was very helpful. There was another waitress that kept our water glasses filled the entire evening.
We visited this restaurant over 20 years ago and the service, ambience, and food is still outstanding. Recommend it for couples but not children. Menu is great but does not lend itself to a children's tastes.
Unusual eatery , as I guess this restaurant would appeal to the 65 and older crowd. Very retro, both decor and food choices. Good was very good, service excellent and pricing was reasonable.
Service and food were top-notch. Only complaint was that the Special Occasion (Birthday) was not acknowledged, even though it was noted on the reservation and also a note placed in comments to ensure acknowledgement.
Good restaurant but no kids menu made it almost awkward for my family. Very overpriced in my opinion.
The food was fantastic... chowder, apps, dinner entrées all above expectations. The only thing that outshined the food was the service. I have to say though, the decor is still mired in the early 1970's style of seafood restaurants. Perhaps that's the vibe they're trying to stick with?
Will definitely return next time I'm in that part of the state.
Excellent everything enjoyed very much
A bit pricey but very nice place, good food and Bobby was an excellent waiter.
Waitress didn’t really understand English . Was told cocktails were available, so asked for a moijti, but they couldn’t make one as they didn’t have any mint . I had flounder and this being a sea food restaurant I expected fresh fish . It was covered in soggy batter and deep fried from frozen ! Two mains , 2 drinks $100! Couldn’t get out of there quickly enough . Save your money and go somewhere else !
We received a coupon for Seafare from the hotel we stayed at in Williamsburg. The bill for two entrees, no alcohol including tip with the 10% off was still almost $100. The meals were not worth almost $50 each. My partner said the crab cakes tasted like they had been frozen prior to cooking. My lobster tail was only okay. They do give you tons of bread, and the waiter was very friendly. Music was too quiet, so you could hear everyone’s conversations around the entire restaurant to the point that it was hard to hold your own. Overall, I wouldn’t recommend and we won’t be back. I would have been happier spending $20 at McDonald’s.
Food was only 'ok' at best and was definitely over priced. The waitess was kind but very inattentive. My glass was sitting empty for over 5 minutes until I finally flagged her down and asked for the refill. Overall we were very disappointed and will not be returning.
Best stuffed shrimp anywhere and delicious chopped salad. Good, friendly staff. We will definitely return.
Excellent food and service. No choices for vegetarians in the group, but enjoyed the salad and mushrooms. Crab cakes were fabulous!
Great food in a relaxed atmosphere
We go a few times a year. Never have had a bad experience
It was great. The food service price. Everything was awesome. My date loved it
We have never been disappointed with the marvelous food here! Also a very pretty restaurant!
Seafood was not up to par for the price or expectation of a seafood restaurant. I can find better seafood in Missouri.
Food was good except for the shrimp, which were tasteless. Our server was arrogant and condescending, which totally ruined our Mother's Day dinner.
Service was outstanding. I had crab cakes and they were outstanding. My daughter had soft shell crabs and I tasted them and they were excellent.
One of the highlights for our Mothers Day weekend venture to Williamsburg. Waitress was awesome. I don't remember her name; but she was a foreigner. Super awesome attitude and so humbling and attentive. We need more like her!!!!!!
We were a group of 12 for my son's graduation from William and Mary. The staff at The Seafare were terrific and the food was delicious! We wish we were going to be in the area again, because we would definitely return.
Service was a little slow. Didn't like the face you could only order house wine by the glass. But the food was awesome, their garden salad was the best U every had. I would definitely go back.
fantastic find. We were celebrating a family occasion with a large group (8 persons ranging in age from early 20s to mid-80s) and everyone left happy and satisfied. The waitress was very friendly and patient, the seafood was excellent with large portions, and the decor very pleasant. A definite recommend.
Wait service tried very hard to please! Didn’t understand my husbands drink order, but the were pleasant and courteous! Menu was a little hard to navigate! Ordered a shrimp cocktail that was 5 shrimp on the menu and only received 4
The sea food was excellent and cooked to perfection The service was very good.
The hollandaise sauce for the asparagus was cold and terrible tasting. My crabmeat cocktail was dry, but there was lots of crabmeat. The soft shell crabs were delicious, and my husband’s steak was adequate.
This was our first visit to the Seafare and we enjoyed it. The service was superb, thanks to the skill and friendliness of our server Igor. We all had seafood and the various dishes were well prepared. My mixed seafood grill seemed more steamed than grilled but the combination of the fish, scallops, shrimp and lobster were delicious. However, I didn't care for the oysters. They were tough and my least favorite in flavor. We enjoyed our wine selection from the very extensive wine list, a very reasonably priced Cote de Provence. For dessert we went with Igor's recommendation of the baklava. It was not too sweet or buttery. In all, we agreed that we would like to return to the Seafare and sample more of the menu.
The only disappointment was the the Cafe Royal. You get to take the glass home with you but its just the same as a water glass. Nothing special what so ever. Was not worth $12.
Our meal at Seafare was very good. Thoroughly enjoyed the orange sherbet between courses - what a treat! I ordered the seafood casserole and was expecting a rich cheesy or creamy dish. It was more like all of the seafood broiled and put in the same bowl served together. Disappointing from the standpoint of my expectations for the dish, but the seafood was very good anyway.
The place has no vibe. The food was less quality than Red Lobster. There are much better places than this .
Food was inconsistent, service was extremely disappointing. Not prepared to serve a large group. Waitress was indifferent. She did not check on our satisfaction, and took a long time to take our orders.
Friends first time visit...extremely impressed...will be back next time in Williamsburg..
