The Seafare of Williamsburg Ratings and Reviews
The food was delicious. My husband has the chilean sea bass which is hard to find a restaurant that prepares it. He said it was awesome. I had the red snapper with the crab meat and it was very good. We LOVED the corn muffins, too. This was the best meal we had during our trip to Williamsburg!
The food and drinks were exceptional. I wasn't that thrilled with our server. She was not as warming. She seemed to be just business oriented and not customer service oriented whereas the other servers smiled more had more of a pleasant personality and friendly. I was taken back as I made reservations and it asked occasion and I put Birthday, however, no one said Happy Birthday. I would definitely recommend this restaurant and will go back.
We took younger cousins for supper. The place was classic and lovely, the food was excellent with many choices, but a bit pricey, especially on drink specials that were small and nothing special. I would go again for the fresh seafood, but I would avoid ordering drink specials, certainly.
The worst halibut I've ever had... extremely dry and overcooked. Not even melted butter could make it taste good.
It was my fault for not telling the server... After I left, I felt I should have sent it back. A chef who respects him/herself would've never sent that fish out of the kitchen. After all, it's a 31-dollar dish! Disappointing experience after such good reviews.
The server was nice and attentive. Wine was good; we had the Pinot Gris. Place is beautiful.
Impeccable service with excellent seafood and comfortable elegance! We were a party of eight, the table was roomy and conducive to relaxing conversation and dining. The staff is attentive, seamless and unobtrusive. A little expensive, but you get what you pay for!
Thank goodness our server was wonderful, (young man from Ukraine) but we were disappointed in the food. The crab bisque tasted like cream and flour. No crab at all. The stuffed flounder was just ok; could of used more seasoning and the scallops were bland. Lovely wine selection though.
My wife and first ate at this restaurant in 1985 and have eaten here many times since. We find the atmosphere, the menu and the service to be top notch. We have visited Williamsburg, VA many times and hope to do so going forward, and when we do, we'll eat at this wonderful restaurant again.
