Solid quality and a good value. 3rd Visit. We will return.
Very good martinis. Excellent waiter. 3 of the 4 meals were very good. The 4th dinner, Chicken milanese, was quite dry though.
Don't let the exterior fool you. It does not look like much. The interior is much nicer. This was our 2nd visit. My wife again ordered the Hot Lobster Roll. It was cooked to perfection buttery and plentiful. I had a Cold Lobster Wrap. Also delicious. The Fried that came with our sandwiches were also quite good. Great homemade desserts as well. Another great spot in Westerly.
Host and service people could not be better!
We had 1 yr old and 93 yr old in our party and they were fully supportive of both
Great place for lunch and dinner
Service was good we got no bread dinner was very bland
Always enjoy the Goose. First time having the seaftstew and found it a bit bland for my tastes.
Excellent service, atmosphere and food. A real neighborhood jewel.
Staff was great, food was tasty and and great bar menu as well
Looks like the open table rsv was never updated so the request for a birthday event was not known to the server. Didn’t really need to make a reservation at this time of the year.
Owners Jennifer Gibson and Andrew Nathan continue to offer first-rate food, a great rotating selection of IPA's on tap and truly excellent service. Highlights of my most recent visit on 2/22, a quiet Friday evening with friends, included perfectly shucked, healthy local oysters, custom pan-seared scallops (which were not on the menu, but were nonetheless provided), and a terrific crème brûlée. Our waitress was spectacular, keeping all our orders entirely in her memory and making no mistakes. Once the spring and summer arrive, reservations will be needed.
This is our go to restaurant, especially for happy hour specials and wine tasting pairings!
This was a fine dining experience recognizing a special occasion. It was excellent in all respects with special props to a wonderful, pleasant, knowledgeable and overall great young server, a tribute to the establishment!
It was "Lobster Sunday" so I ordered the 1lb Lobster Salad. Very pretty presentation of a dismembered lobster arranged over a large bed of ice. However, it was not a salad; all of the pieces (2 claws and a split tail) were still in the shell and had to be taken out by me...NOT the easy dinner that I expected when ordering a "salad". In addition, the lobster was of modest size and the meat from both claws and the tail constituted 6 - 8 fork fulls...for $24. :-(
The other dishes at our table were equally modest, albeit tasty.
Most tasty was the shrimp and grits; excellent flavor, even for me who does not care for grits.
The fried calamari would appeal to those who enjoy their fried calamari fried dark and crisp and who love the tentacles...which I do! However, the dark and crisp...not so much! :-(
The service was very good.
Overall; I'm not in agreement with the majority of those reviewing this place. Probably won't go back.
We often have dinner at Sea Goose. Last Saturday my wife and I took family members, seven in all - kids and adults - and had a great time. Terrific food, fun and happy diners. Wait staff are professional, friendly and thoughtful. Scot, the manager could not be more accommodating and hospitable. And Matt, always cheerful, is the best oyster shucker in Westerly. It all starts at the top and owners Jennifer and Andrew take pride in their work and are gracious to all.
Thanks for asking,
Renato & Christina
Wonderful food at affordable prices with great service.
Great afternoon with friends. Very nice waitress!
Sea Goose is our go to spot. Cooked Goose is also excellent.
Fresh fish, very pleasant service and host.
Excellent fried shrimp and fish and chips.
Also nice to eat at the bar
We had a great low-key New Year’s eve dinner with excellent service and delicious food, as always!! Beth, our server, was great!
This was our 2nd visit to “ The Goose” this yesr. Reaffirms my prior rating of “Definite Go To” place. Seafood stew this evening was as good as it gets. FRESH FRESH everything! Do not waste “date night” at fancy spots with mediocre food quality unless “ambiance” is the goal. The food at the Goose is TOP SHELF - the ambiance is for we locals.
Service was excellent...our waitress was knowledgeable about the menu and made recommendations. She was very attentive.
Other staff checked on us throughout the meal, which was nice.
The food was impeccable. The duck special was cooked to perfection and the sides were appropriate and delicious.
Portion size was very good!
Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our dining experience at Sea Goose.
We often dine at the Sea Goose and can always count on a good to excellent meal. Usually we order a seafood dish from the main menu. This past visit, we both ordered a special and were a bit disappointed. Specials at any restaurant are a gamble in our experience.
Although we have not attended "happy hour", I have heard that it is great. And we do not sit at the bar, but have observed that many people do and seem to be enjoying themselves.
During the tourist season, it is advisable to make reservations because it is very busy and, when there are a lot of people, it, like most restaurants, gets noisy.
It is a bit pricey, but good fresh seafood is expensive. It's worth it, especially since the preparations are delicious and, if needed, you can substitute a side dish for another. The wait staff is very accommodating and always pleasant.
Sea Goose never disappoints. Lots of delicious seafood and amazing drinks.
Really enjoyed the $20 Sunday lobster options!! A new go-to for us.
Service was weird. We ordered from one person and another person delivered something we did not order.
As usual was not disappointed. Their lobster nachos are always part of my order and are great!. Tried the fish and chips dish for the first time and it was very good.
Casual local spot serving excellent seafood dishes. The seafood stew was full of clams, mussels and lobster in a rich broth. The seafood penne pasta had shrimp, scallops and lobster in a creamy Parmesan cream sauce. Highly recommend this local gem.
Everyone was very friendly and accommodating. Brian is a fantastic waiter. Very attentive. Looking forward to seeing him when I came back to visit in June 2019
Thank you for a great evening.
Go during happy hour and dine at the bar for savings on some menu items
Especially in the low season, this restaurant is a best buy and offers terrific seafood. Happy hour (5 to 7 pm) offers oysters at $1.50 each. Spectacular seafood stew with generous amounts of lobster in the shell. Excellent salads, which we eat as “dessert” after the main course.
it was a great place to eat, large portion, very friendly next time in the area will be going again.
Good all around seafood restaurant. Friendly great staff
Would like a fish choice that isn’t fried.
Very pleasant place and they take reservations!
After wanting to try this restaurant for some time based on friend reccs, we were not impressed. The apps were decent - sweet potato vichyssoise was tasty and luscious, hubby's Maggies Mussels also tasty. It was down hill after that. Most offerings are fried and not on our radar any longer after spending years in FL. Hubby chose Shrimp and Grits - bleh! Quite tasteless and way too salty. I chose Fried Stonington scallops. Much to my chagrin, they hardly tasted fresh or from Stonington even after peeling off the overly thick bicarbonate of soda/flour batter. Dessert was Key Lime pie which was surprisingly good, but too loaded with whipped cream. My advice-don't try to prepare dishes that are not in your wheelhouse, nor particuarly healthy. An update of this menu is needed unless you want to eat mostly fried food. Service was fine. Cocktails very good . Probably will not return unless menu offerings are a bit more healthy.
Seafood stew, Maggie's mussels, Asian calamari, table bread outstanding. Great martini and varied beer selection. Maggie our waitress was attentive and prompt. Downside- fisherman's platter was fried dry, as was battered Chicken Milanese which was really nothing like this dish I've had elsewhere. We'll be back again, especially for the mussels!
My family wanted to celebrate our last evening of vacation in RI with a great seafood dinner, and what we found was an exceptional dinner experience . First off we arrived to our reservation 15min early and was still seated immediately and orders taken. The choices of apps and cocktails was refreshing and original. Fresh warm bread was a hit. The entree of seafood Alfredo was amazing! There were ample fresh tender cooked Lobster, shrimp, scallops. My only regret was not having room to sample the dessert menu which looked amazing as well.
Highly recommend to anyone that loves seafood to give this place a try. My wife and I both agree that this place has the best seafood we have ever had.
Really good service, attentive staff. One of the very best places in the area in regards to service. Food is good+, some interesting, fun stuff on the menu. Prices are a little all over the place, some stuff seems rather high but for the most part pricing seems fair to me. We are really into great cocktails/craft beer/interesting wine and everything in that department was rather boring (disclaimerl: I am in the drinks business so am extremely picky, I'm sure most people would be fine with the selections)
Leisurely lunch on quiet summer afternoon. Food and service was terrific.
Many fried foods on menu which I did not want , but I had very good swordfish with vegetables and Israeli couscous
A bit expensive .
Had a guest that is gluten-free. Last time we were there, we were told that the shrimp & grits was gluten -free but this time they said the grits had flour in them. So, she got a burger instead and was pleased with that.
Other dishes were good, service was good. Table was ready (had made a reservation).
We frequent the Sea Goose on a regular basis. While occasionally the kitchen slips on execution, the service is always friendly and efficient. Also, the managers are often checking in with guests and are eager to correct any dissatisfaction. On this visit we shared the heirloom tomato salad, which was outstanding, and we each enjoyed the swordfish special, which was nicely prepared.
