Outstanding dinner in a delightful environment that is truly magical.
Great food & service. Really cute place. Will definitely return to try more things on the menu
Best brunch in Fairfield County. Love Schoolhouse, such great food, wonderful staff. A total gem.

souffle`floats on your tongue

Inventive use of seasonal foods, and excellent as always.
We went there because someone recommended this restaurant to us. It is a small, cute location. The service was fantastic. The team was kind, patient, and were very thorough in their explanations. I had forgotten to book the chocolate desert ahead but they still made it happen which was super nice. The food was delicious! I highly recommend this place.
Always a super night out!
Sent a direct email requesting reservation before using OpenTable. A direct email back confirming/acknowledgement would have been appropriate. Why have the email form on the website?
Wonderfully fresh and creative dishes. 4 course prix fixe meals on Thursdays can'tbe beat!
Excellent food in terms of variety, presentation and taste. Service was attentive but not obtrusive. Pricing was in line with the value of the meal.
Great spot. Very small so don’t expect any private conversations
It is a lovely restaurant with a unique setting. The food is delicious and the service is excellent! It is a small restaurant so if there is someone with a booming voice it is hard to ignore. We will definitely be going back.
Fabulous dinner from start to the chocolate soufflé finish. Always an exceptional evening at The Schoolhouse.
A terrific intimate excellent but relaxed little place. Thoughtfully well made food. Excellent ingredients. Strong fairly priced wine list.
Amazing as always - such care in each innovative dish. Servers are consistently friendly and warm.
We went for Mother's Day and I was a bit disappointed. They had an adult prix-fixe menu/price as well as one for kids. I did not see the menu beforehand as it is formulated by the chef that day. Looking back, it was not an ideal place to go for Mother's Day as the kids had the exact same options as the parents with no modifications made. We go out to eat quite often and there are many times where there is no kid's menu, but the chef will sometimes make small modifications. In this case, the waiter said that they don't make modifications. They ate a lot of bread. I'm not blaming the restaurant - I should have done a better job pushing to understand the options for kids, but I thought since it was a "Mother's Day Prix Fixe", there would be overall more thought given to this. Anyway, we were a bit disappointed by the experience.
Our Mother's Day lunch was spectacular! As it always is, the service was outstanding, the food creative and delicious, and the atmosphere charming and relaxing. Instead of ordering our favorite Sunday brunch dish (the Schoolhouse Benedict), we tried the new entrees: shrimp and grits, pulled pork, and French toast made with brioche. Everyone was delighted with the new choices. Dining at the Schoolhouse made our day special. It has become a well-loved family tradition!
Mother’s Day lunch
The food and service were excellent as usual. My only suggestion is to have the option of vanilla or chocolate ice cream as a dessert for children. There is only one dessert choice at brunch- delicious- but not always appealing to young children. On holidays where there are many children attending this would be an added plus.
Schoolhouse remains one of my favorite restaurants.
Service is excellent! Food very high quality. Ambiance charming but way, way too noisy!!!! They need to put some sound absorption !
Cocktails, food, service and decor are wonderful. It’s a tiny space and over the years people have gotten louder and louder, so it’s now painfully loud. Luckily they are adding noise canceling technology to counteract the noise. I’m looking forward to returning
Love this restaurant. Beautiful, quiet, welcoming environment and great food!
Adorable little schoolhouse turned into a fabulous restaurant. Welcoming and attentive service. The octopus starter was divine - smoky chorizo added wonderful flavor. The duck duo was a gorgeous piece of art that tasted as good as it looked. We were too sated to try the chocolate souffle, but the one next to us looked and smelled amazing. Great wine list. Would definitely recommend!
The food was spectacular in every way, with many layers of flavors and textures.
My only disappointment was the wine list.I REALLY wish restaurants would carry a few organic wines. There are so many of us who have problems with sulfites these days. It’s not that hard to carry a couple selections. We’ll be back and will hope there will be a wine for me😊
Food was excellent. I had the duck, my wife the branzino. Both were wonderful.
Schoolhouse at Cannondale has been a favorite of ours for years and it never disappoints. They change the menu seasonally and they have some of the best desserts I’ve ever had in my life! The beet salad last night with olives (!) was so insanely good, I wanted to order a second one. Banana cake with peanut butter ice cream was awesome!! Beef is always cooked perfectly. Easy to manage wine list. On point cocktails. Truly the best, and we make a point to go several times a year to get our fix.
We love this place! The setting is charming, the food delicious and the staff lovely and attentive. We have been loyal customers for years and can't recommend it highly enough.
Also, Penny Ha' Penny is right next door to get wonderful British treats; we are always sure to visit and stock up on chutney.
Elegant dining in a calm atmosphere, attentive staff, delicious food. Never disappointing.
Just love this rasaurant: such understated but attentive service. The food is always so fresh, so creative and delicious
Some of the most beautiful plates I’ve ever seen that tasted just as good. Quaint ambiance and impeccable service. Found our new favorite date spot!
Every bite is outstanding. If expensive is worth it, this is a perfect example. Perfect food, attentive relaxed service, delicious in a perfect little place. Indulgent. Luxe in a very easy but sophisticated way. Great place.
Love these guys! Great food, great service, and how many restaurants can you find in an old Schoolhouse?
The food was exceptional. The sweet potato soup was quite memorable and the branzino was light and done just right. We will definitely be back.
This was our first visit to The Schoolhouse but it certainly won’t be our last! The whole experience was a delight. The food was perfectly prepared and presented, and the service was impeccable. What a find!
We had a wonderful time at The Schoolhouse. Everything was presented in a beautiful way and tasted delicious. Cannot to return to try some more culinary creations!
As given by the eponymous name the restaurant is a single room with a friendly, caring, and efficient staff with a Chef whose flavorful work is superbly composed and balanced on the plate - never heavy or overdone.
An amazing experience. Best Burrata I have ever had.
We have been going to The Schoolhouse for every special occasion and important family dinner for the last few years, and it's hard to say what its best selling point is - the outstanding food, the exceptionally professional and gracious service or the beautiful setting.
Every meal we've had there has been delicious, always ended with their chocolate souffle.
I LOVE this restaurant.
Went for brunch. French pressed coffee was a great start, mimosa's, then egg in a hole, and a benedict. portions could have been a bit more substantial. Quality over quantity here. nice setting
Small but quiet place in an old single room schoolhouse—as the name implies. Food is not inexpensive, but it is excellent. Very nice wine list. Waiter asks at time of order if you would like a chocolate soufflé for 2 for dessert.
Definitely worth a try.
