We have lived in Austin for 11 years---this is the best dining experience we have experienced in this geographic location in those years. We will be back. Loretta Mae is a delight!

Great food. Although the meats were really well done, the vegetarian options were delicious. The candied pork belly was delicious.

The bone marrow was delicious as were the oyster fritters. I love their Waygu beef cheeseburger with carmelized onions. The French fries are scrumptious. We shared the peach cobbler with nutmeg ice cream our waiter, Ethan, was very attentive and efficient and super nice.
My husband really enjoyed his 75th birthday celebration.

I have to confess enjoying Salty Sow much more on our previous 2 experiences. We were really pleased to get a table inside. (After having reserved online the day previous, I received a call at 4pm the day of to tell me our reservation was for outside -not indicated online- and Given the 100 degree weather this is best to know when you book as I may have reserved elsewhere.) Our waitress was pleasant and well meaning but she seemed a bit overwhelmed. Room temp Rose was a disappointment and seriously over cooked redfish was also a bummer. Duck fat fries were the highlight.

We have been to Salty Sow several times and have never been disappointed. The food is amazing. this trip our sever wasn't the best we have had but was still good. The times before though our servers have been amazing. Their craft cocktails are what truly brings us back. I'm a whiskey girl and enjoy experimenting with different whiskey cocktails and hands down they have the best ones so far. If you can, get seated on the patio.

This place is hopping. We are from Las Vegas and were in Austin on business. We all wanted to get away from the hotel for some good food. This was even better. This place is Great! . Best pork belly Taco ever. Nice happy hour menu.

I have taken my friends to the Salty Sow before a while back for the sharing plates and cocktails. We really had enjoyed the venue. My partner’s father was here from out of town so we thought we’d take him somewhere special in our neck of the woods. My partner has special dietary restrictions, Celiac’s and lactose intolerance, so we are very limited in our selections on most menus but find that we can ask and order with relative ease. NOT so here. While the restaurant does have a permanent gluten free menu the restaurant operates on a rotating menu style for Happy Hour specials. The wait staff there are not at all informed about or interested in finding out for you anything about the Happy Hour or rotating menu items. Things that could easily be rendered gluten free by simply having a separate fryer for things like the duck fat French fries were even out of reach. My partner was made to feel like an inconvenience instead of a human who struggles at every turn to feel normal during stressful and potentially harmful dining experiences. The waitress was so rude about our questions that she didn’t even try to hide the fact that she thought he was being ridiculous about his insistence that he could not in fact ingest gluten without getting sick. We were so scarred by the treatment that we will never go back.

The meal is too meat-heavy for me. There aren't enough vegetables on the menu in my opinion. Our server was ready to get out of there. Nice, but kind of a fake nice in order to move along her agenda.

In town for meetings. Had been here once before and wanted to share it with a friend because it was so good. The first time, I sat outside and it was perfect. This time we sat inside and it’s very loud. Not good for someone who is hearing-impaired. But the food was again exceptional. Their hors d’oeuvres are amazing. We tried the deviled eggs and the charcuterie. The scallops are wonderful. The bone-in filet was also good. I’d like to try everything.

Great menu and well executed food. Out of two white wines on the list and service was good, but a little clunky.

We usually have great service, but on this occasion they forgot an appetizer and a drink. My friends all had their drinks and wanted to wait for me. One’s beer was getting warm, one’s whiskey was having ice melt into it. I just kept ordering the Moscow Sow over and over (four times to be exact) while waiting for the goose fat fries that were 15 minutes behind.

The candied pork belly is AWESOME though and I’ll be back just for it. I just hope the experience is better next time.

We were looking for a quirky place to go before the George Strait concert last Sunday. Some wierd foods u certainly don’t find here in New Braunfels but fun. Skip the bone marrow app. It was really hot in the restaurant— ac might be on the blink. Good
Server— Leonard.

Service was a little slow at first, but our reservations were right as HH was ending. Once we finally got our drinks and put in our order everything was amazing! The food was stellar! The steak with chimichuri sauce, wagyu beef burger, blackened redfish, fried chicken thighs, beets, farmhouse salad, green chili grits, and flourless chocolate cake...I have no regrets! And to top the night off, they gave the table a round of champagne to cheers for my birthday! We will be back!

Most food was good: scallop crudo outstanding, oyster fritters disappointing, duck fat fried potatoes ok, charcuterie board pretty good.. portions vary: some really large (fries and charcuterie plate), some fine dining sizes (scallop crudo).. service was lack-luster

The menu was insanely great, we started with charcuterie board, which would have been a great meal by itself, had the brussel sprout leaves and collard greens (I could have used some cornbread here, not complaining just sayin'). For the main course we shared the duck breast. The only thing I wanted was more room to try more stuff!

A good east side staple - the salty sow is great when you're craving something richer. Staff was helpful since it was a birthday, but no additions were made to help celebrate. We continue to love it as an old favorite food-wise.

Beautiful restaurant. High quality food. Possibly inconsistent. I highly recommend the roast and the burger. However the chicken thighs with fingerling potatoes left something to be desired. Sure, they had a great sear, but the flavor itself seemed bland and uninteresting. This was my second visit. The service was much faster on my first visit. I will certainly give it another shot.

One of the best happy hours in town. Food was delicious and inventive and drink selection was quite nice (especially the Carousel rosé and Curly Pig cocktail). We celebrated our colleague's 40th birthday here this week - thank you to Salty Sow for taking great care of us! The champagne toast for all at the end of our meal was such a lovely surprise.

The charcuterie board was disappointing. I’m had two massive piles of both liver and pate on the other side. Way too much liver for a charcuterie board.

Amazing place lots of potential - it’s special. However, for such a special place the pork belly was a bit average/fatty. It’s a taste think so you cannot knock them for an overall great place.
