Anniversary. And we found out my wife is pregnant! They were nice and very accommodating.
Salty Sow is always a must go to when I am in Austin!
Been here several times but this last time we had pretty awful service.. server not paying attention to what we were asking, tossing menus we didn’t ask for our way, and just generally not giving recommendations when asked. I usually have a great time but this time left a bad taste.
Reserved a table, made it for happy hour, amazing! The food was great! Definitely be back!
Great happy hour. Service was slow, but it was busy.
I made a reservation because I know they fill up and we arrived a little late, which was made later due to the new Valet service, but we still walked in within 15 min of our reservation time. The hostess had given away our table and we had to sit outside in the heat.
We made a reservation for happy hour & we were not disappointed!! The charcuterie was to die for - chicken liver mousse was outstanding. The tacos felt fun & familiar, but with a twist and the fried chicken in honey butter was the show stopper. The cocktails were well made, & the wine selections on point. Our server was helpful without being overbearing & it was easily the best meal we had on our visit to Austin.
Great menu, drinks, apps, food!!
Decided to try Salty Sow for my Husbands birthday. It was a thursday night and definitely very popular. We got there a little early and had to wait but not for too long. We had a great table. The duck fat fries were awesome. Meal was good too. We had the crispy thighs and the pork chop. Often we split meals and didn't this time and had plenty to bring home with us. Great food.
Had a great time! Deviled eggs are amazing!
Made a reservation but still was sat outside in sweltering weather. All in all the the food was great as well as the service.
Had bone marrow and the duck for dinner. The duck was kinda plain... not a memorable meal. Mixed drinks were good. There are better dining options downtown Austin.
The deviled eggs are delicious. I tried the cocktail flight, but didn't enjoy 2 of the 4 mini-cocktails.
Was very skeptical when arriving to this spot. We went to entertain a client, and the clients actual words were "it changed his life" so... who wouldn't try it out.
Everything was exceptional! The Apps, the drinks, the meals... the ambience was awesome. Life Changing! LOL
It was great! Very nice server. First time for several in my group, including some les-than adventurous palates. They loved it. We had a good time!
First time there. Food was great and waiter was delightful.
Everybody in our group ordered something different and no one was disappointed with their choice, everything tasted great, even the desserts were spot on. We ordered the bananas foster beignets and they were good, but the ice cream that came with it was even better. Portion sizes were perfect as well.
Great food, service was good. Although we did mention a birthday, but that was never acknowledged when dessert came. Oh! The cocktails are really creative and tasty!
Made reservations for 4 a week in advance and we were seated in the outdoors with metal stools next to busy bussing station (ice, water, trash). The flys were horrible. Try enjoying a nice chicken liver mousse with a swarm of flys. Next time, which will be a while, we’ll make sure to request inside, comfortable seating.
Nice place, good food, good service!
Showed up during happy hour on Friday evening. We were seated on the patio, which was very pleasant.
Had a great waiter. When we were seated for dinner, it was VERY LOUD inside. That might be the general ambiance at this restaurant. But the food and the service were excellent so the noise would not keep me from going back!
Bravo!!! Outstanding and never disappointing options for Happy Hour or dinner!!One of my favorite places I can go to every week!!!!
I love the energetic vibe of this restaurant. The flow of conversation was never interrupted by the ordering or delivery of food. It was a phenomenal experience that let me focus on my guests and topics du jour!
Now to the food and drink. Wow. Worth the 4.5+ stars that I gave them and am looking to bring more friends and family as well.
The food is unique and delicious. Service was good.
Had dinner at Salty Sow for the first time in quite awhile and I'm happy to report the food is still great! The redfish entree is one of the tastiest fish dishes I've ever had. Friendly service; good wine selection. We will not wait so long to come back next time.
We enjoyed everything except the noisiness. The food is remarkable. Each of us had a different dish, and all of shared bites. Favorites include truffled deviled eggs, beef shoulder, fried chicken, pork stew, filet medallions, and Brussels sprouts. The drinks are inventive and delicious. I highly recommend The Salty Sow.
Service was VERY slow. Waiter kept trying to upsell us instead of offering us the Happy Hour appetizers. Took forever to get our meals so we abandoned any plans for getting dessert. Waiter rarely came by. Wanted to box a meal, but they only took part of it away to be boxed and we had to ask again for the rest of it to be boxed. For a pretty pricey restaurant it wasn't worth it because of the poor service.
Daughter’s birthday. Meal was great but dropped the ball on it being for a 9 year olds birthday. That’s all.
I went to the Salty Sow prior to
It was too loud and there were too many flies. It seems that there were too many people or that the restaurant was unusually overwhelmed.
Amazing food and drinks. Our server, Christina, was excellent!
We made a reservation but were unaware that we’d need to specify our indoor preference. As a result, we waited past our reservation time to be seated indoors. It is worth noting that the dining experience on the back patio is significantly different than being sat indoors: significantly hotter and more humid, decor that has obviously not changed from the pizza place that occupied the building prior. Please inform those making reservations that they need to specify indoor seating in order to get a superior experience. Either that or don’t seat prior reservations on your back deck.
Our waiter was kind and timely, food was excellent, as always.
I have been to the Salty Sow numerous times and the food and service are always excellent!
We got seated immediately, even though half the party was running late. I appreciate that, as we were able to order drinks while waiting for late friends. Our waiter was a little stressed and didn’t seem to want to engage us. I get it, it was happy hour and busy. Also we are a table of women who don’t know how to behave in public; too loud, too gregarious. What can I say, we all have kids and don’t get together often enough. The food and drinks were quite tasty. I had the happy hour deviled eggs and fried chicken. When we were ready to go I had to find our waiter to pay. I will definitely be back for that chicken though.
Great meal with so many fantastic options! Delicious food and cocktails...service was amazing.
Great place....duck fat fries are killer. Super happy happy hour
Favorite place to eat in Austin. Go during happy hour for good deals. It can be loud.
Nice atmosphere. Interesting menu. Friendly staff. Outdoor seats are hot and steamy...
I absolutely LOVE this place! I always pop-in or make reservations if I MUST have but whenever my B-day rolls around I know I'm going to TSS! I brought along a friend who had never been and she was so impressed! I think you just gained another regular!
