We made a reservation, as they fill up quickly. One of my fav happy hour spots. Love the charcuterie board, though I was displeased with the duck ham this visit(usually so yummy). Chicken liver mousse was out of this world delish, as was the Local Gouda.
The duck fat fries were incredible, but the eggplant fries that the table next to us had looked Devine, so we’ll try those next time.
Our Server was so good, and when we treated the table next to us and she was very discreet letting us take care of the check. Loved it!

My husband and I were visiting Austin for the first time and always hope to find great dining. The Salty Sow was definitely a winner! It has a casual atmosphere, great service and a really fun menu. Everything was spot on and ended with what was probably one of the best desserts I've ever tasted...the Bananas Foster Beignets! Definitely enough for two, even though my husband ordered another dessert (definitely preferred mine!) . Have a meal here, you won't regret it!

I love salty sow. I have been ten times over the last couple years, mostly for the happy hour. The Rosemary chicken and the Brussels sprouts are the best. All the drinks are great. I've had most of them. Maple old fashioned and curly tail are two of favorites. The ctem brulee and butterscotch desserts are my favorites, but I have tried everyone. They are all great. Salty is my first recommendation for Austin visitors.

Go. Here.
We found ourselves in a very strange position, staring at a menu where everything sounded like an awesome food adventure and watching food going to tables that looked better than the menu made them sound. We were lucky our server Danita is a foodie too and guided us through her faves with enthusiastic passion for the food.

TIP: Go with two or more people and share apps and entrees to explore the menu...you will NOT regret it.

Atmosphere is relaxed with intimiate indoor seating and room to spread out on a patio. Servers are AWESOME.

We started with the bone marrow with gruyere and learned something right away; there are no garnishes on the dishes, everything is there for flavor profile. There was a beautiful parsley puree we added to the bread for the marrow/gruyere -- bam! A flavor combo that rocketed to a different level.

A salmon and smoked salmon rillete with creme fresh and caviar again represented the all-for-one plating. Alone each ingredient was great. But together on crusty bread it was an amazingly creamy and comfortable blend of flavor that brought a sense of sophisticated comfort food I couldn't stop eating -- like mom's tuna fish salad except grown up, refined and with flavors that would be 'pheasant of the sea' rather than chicken.

We had the candied pork belly. And, after two courses of only "mmm"'s and head nods exchanged the communication escalated to food dances in our seats.

Don't miss this place. Don't be afraid to talk to servers about the menu. And definitely share plates and run up a tab!

We chose the Salty Sow to celebrate a birthday with friends. Our request to sit outside was honored and it was perfect. We were seated near a heater and although there were other diners it felt very private and quiet. The food was delicious and the service was outstanding. Without asking, the wait staff surprised us with a dessert with candle and a round of champagne. Perfect experience. We will be back!

Food was fantastic. It was surprisingly busy for a Tuesday night. Limited “quiet” seats for romance, but the food was well worth the busy atmosphere.
Happy hour choices and prices are good!

Went for Happy Hour and left happy indeed! Great service and awesome HH specials - drinks and food! For munchies I had the pork belly and carnitas tacos, duck fat fries, and Brussel sprout leaves... in hindsight this was probably closer to 1st dinner than snackers. Definitely going to return for 2nd dinner another day!

The fried cheese curds and pickles to start were amazing! The lamb two ways was great. My wife had fillets and she loved them. Dessert was bananas foster beignets with nutmeg ice cream.. can’t even describe how good EVERYTHING was. Will definitely come back when I’m in Austin. 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽

3 of our 4 dinners were fantastic. The lamb special was not cooked correctly. When brought to their attention, an excuse was made. They rectified the issue by bringing another plate of lamb to the table. Now instead of completely raw, it was jerky. (After initially bringing it to their attention, I ordered something else, but they brought lamb back.) I didn't want my dinner to be the focus of our dinner with out of town guests, so I stayed with it. I certainly did not offer anyone a bite. I have been here several times before, and everything was terrific, so I was a little saddened by the unwillingness of the manager(he came to the table) to just apologize and correct the issue even when it had been brought to his attention twice. I feel they should have realized the product they were putting on the table was not up to their standards.

This was a relaxed spot with a great ambiance, excellent service, and delicious food! Our favorite dish, recommended by the waiter, was the redfish on a bed of quinoa and lentils and with a smoked whole tomato. It was delicious! The beets on whipped goat cheese was a refreshing side, and eggplant fries were tasty and crispy! Nice variety of vegetable and meat dishes to please all kinds of tastes. Reasonably priced wine was a bonus, and the mini cocktails were fun and tasty! All around a great experience. We would have liked espresso at the end of the meal, but coffee was the only choice, and went well with the interesting and fluffy creme brulee. A great evening!
