The Salmon House is world renowned for its fresh seafood and comprehensive BC wine list; accentuated by breath-taking views, warm comfortable surroundings and native art decor.
It was my friend’s birthday so we decided to have a brunch at the Salmon House. We were not disappointed with our choice of venue. The weather was great so we had a great view of the lower mainland.
Appetizer was amazing. We ordered a croissant and the shrimp sprill roll... we love it! The Croissant was fresh baked and warm and the shrimp spring rolls was just absolute heaven!
For our main course we had the Omellete with Dungeness crab and I had the Fish and Chips. The Omelette was just oozing with deliciousness and the crab was fantastic in it! Fish and Chips was crunchy and the hlibut flaky... just perfect.
You should go!
It’s was our 15th wedding anniversary, had the whole lounge to ourselves with a beautiful view of the water & downtown. The food was very good. Service was great.
Excellent Experience!! would highly recommend and would be a must dine on dry
Sunny clear evening.
By far the best Seafood restaurant, and long standing reputation for the best seafood and creativity. Best variety, and ability to mix items for varied flavours. The "wood style" BC ambience represents the West Coast amazingly. Best view of the city, and superior service. Our server has been there for 25+ years. Presentation is artistic without sacrifice for flavor.
Dessert menu was nice, but perhaps a house creation or more variety.
Great experience as usual...being a local. We always take out of town guests.
Wonderful restaurant to come to with Friends!! Service and views are spectacular
A lovely place to celebrate a birthday. We were fortunate enough for the sun to make an appearance and enjoyed a lovely view of the water and downtown. We can always count on excellent food at the Salmon House and they did not disappoint. The Salmon Trio was cooked to perfection and I would definitely order it again. I'm sure we'll be back.
It was dinner with my wife before my second heart surgery scheduled for the next day.
Service was really poor to the point we had to ask for our dirty plates to be removed, pour our own wine. And wait for ages to get the bill.
Disappointing for an expensive meal, shame.
Outstanding as usual. Everything was PERFECT as usual. A very special place with wonderful servers who add to the enjoyment of the evening. I can't compliment them enough!!!
Fabulous as always. So nice to go to a restaurant that you can make reservations for, where every seat in the house has a killer view, white linen service and wonderful service. The food is beautifully plated and absolutely delicious.
We booked a reso on Open Table for brunch on a Sunday. We tried to get a table for 8 and we were declined so we opted for 6 and were able to get in. When we arrived the restaurant was surprisingly quiet and not busy so we were puzzled why we couldn't get a bigger table but it worked out ok as some of our party canceled in the end. We had a lovely window seat of the amazing view of the Vancouver skyline and ocean. The decor is very old, I like the wood accents but they definitely need a renovation. The dark green is very outdated for such a nice restaurant location.
I had the seafood bennie which was delicious as did a few others. We also had a salmon omlette and salmon salad at the table that was throughly enjoyed. The champagne OJ was a bit overpriced for the tiny glass it was served in ($9.50 for like 2 ounces lol). The maple pecan tart was devine. Our server was very nice and helpful. We over all enjoyed our brunch very much and had a great time.
Good for get together with friend
Location and views are amazing. Was really looking forward to going as we had a gift voucher to use. Found the food bland and main course over cooked (fish pasta) it took ages to come as husband had lamb and his was cooked well. Ordered tiramisu for dessert but again bland. My parents have been and found the food fantastic so maybe it was just an off day.
A delightful dinner at a beautiful venue to celebrate a special birthday milestone with family! Dinner was excellent, the choices were delicious and the portions were perfect!
Lovely ambience... our server Diane was great.
Food was presented well and main courses were delicious. Soup lacked substance though and very watery.
Very good well prepared sea food. There are also steak and lamb options.
I was there 15 years ago and I wanted for my husband to discover it. The scenery was as spectacular as I remembered it. The ambiance was cosy and the service pleasant and efficient. The food was a little more then average. The overall experience was a definite high 4 out of 5.
I'm uncharacteristically motivated to leave a review. Three of the 5 of us had salmon and the sauce was overpoweringly salty and the fish was overcooked. Very disappointing. Our waiter did not come to check on us until we had essentially finished eating (there was over a 40 minute wait for our food to start which would have been fine if we had enjoyed the food). The waiter agreed with us he likes his salmon on the rare side not overcooked ... but we were not given the opportunity when ordering to specify how we would like the fish cooked. Where better to expect a really super piece of fish than the Salmon House??? Super disappointed.
Very polite and professional staff
The Salmon House is one of my favourite restaurants of all time. It has outstanding views of the ocean and sunsets to delight. The fine dining service and the excellent food are consistent. There are many wonderful seafood choices. Perfect for a date or gathering with family & friends. Plenty of room for special occasions.
I had phoned to be sure I got a booth. They told me to busy not available when we got there 10 minutes early. Sat us down a table beside the kitchen busy area and .a group party of 16. 15 minutes later 2nd booth was open and then 1 more. 1 appy was late 20 minutes as it went to wrong table. We were there for 3 hours but our driver was coffees out. Meal wasn't well for him. This was disappointing to me as I have being coming there for years
Go for the view but the value of food and service to the pricing is not good.
Excellent food and service, coupled with spectacular view and ambience...... makes for giving out-towners (in this case, from London, U.K.) a dining experience they'll long remember.
Wonderful view, good food and attentive service. Very nice venue for dinner with friends.
The view is fantastic and so is the food. The waiter and waitress were very attentive and pleasant. It's an upscale restaurant so the food isn't cheap but it's well worth it. I would recommend it to friends and family and can't wait to go back again.
We booked a table for my 50th Birthday, we requested a window table, but when we arrived we did not get a window table, it was later explained to us that these are for first come, first served...we waited a little too long for our waiter, for almost everything....whom ended up getting our order wrong - despite us discussing it with him indetail...this resulted in us having to wait over 30 minutes for our dinner, and he seemed a little too busy to give us much time during the evening...then some of our dishes that were given to us were dirty....but the dinner that finally came was nice, though the scallops were considerably smaller than what was described to us, but they were good...after dinner I talked to the the manager and she was very nice and bought us dessert and a bottle of wine for our trouble. I wish our experience was more special as it was a very important Birthday.
Great food. Incredible view of downtown.
Amazing oysters , the salmón trio was a great flight of the diferentes types of salmon.
The service was a 10+
I did enjoy myself, but for me, the food at this price did not really do it for me!
It was the 1st time going to the Salmon House and it won't be the last time that's for sure. We have been to many restaurants over the last number of years - The Cannery - was our all-time favourite place to go but since it closed we haven't been able to find a place that had the same atmosphere, service, class, superb food until now !!!! We will be back many, many times in the future.
Thank you so much for making this Birthday Celebration so Special.....Service, Food, Window Seats....just a superb Experience !!!
Sat in the lounge. Very quiet with an amazing view. Server and food were great.
Happy to be dining in this restaurant again. My first visit was 25 years ago and it was top notch. We came here again during my honeymoon trip. Food remains delicious, but my taste bud has definitely been spoiled after eating around the globe for 25 years.
We ordered a seafood tower and was regretted. I would rather pay more for a full dining experience as the main course became cold after we we finished the top two layers. I hope they could fine tune it or simply remove it from menu.
food is good and dessert is perfect
Fabulous view of all of Vancouver. Outstanding culinary expertise - every entre is amazing. As befits their name, they truly excel at salmon. Pricey but top notch. Early bird weekday deal is really worth checking out. .
Always love going to the Salmon House. Finally we got the window seating! The food was excellent, the staff wonderful as usual. I suggest the tower for 2. Great to try lots of seafood. This trip I had the salmon trio. It was really good.
Our experience was awesome!!
just lovely , our waiteresswas so lovely a great lady that helped me get a food that works with my allergy i will go back ... sable fish with qinua was so good
Valentine’s Day dinner
Restaurant busy, very good service and food was good but not great -mainly because some of the food that should have been cooked/warm was noticeably room temperature. We still enjoyed our visit
Great staff great food.
No one/no table is left behind of the magnificent sea view view given the stepwise restaurant layout.
