The Saguaro Hotel in downtown Scottsdale, Arizona is home to the Saguaro restaurant. The beautiful dining establishment features wooden plank walls and floors, comfortable seating and warm colors giving it a comfortable yet modern feel. During warm weather, guests can enjoy a meal or cocktails on the patio by the outdoor fireplace at Saguaro.
Start every morning of your stay with breakfast at the Saguaro. Avocado toast, bananas fosters pancakes or a variety of omelet options are all possibilities. There is a plethora of options to enjoy the rest of the day whether you choose to dine at the restaurant or poolside. Appetizers, salads, sandwiches and flatbread pizzas are all available to order all day.
Since we were staying the weekend at the saguaro hotel we figured to try out the food and drinks. Our first time at the restaurant and will be back!

A very original brunch menu with a south american twist. There is also classic american fare.
Overall not a bad place. Not oustanding, but good.
Their menu is currently being tweaked, so some items are no longer offered, though still listed on the menu. Tonight we had the Caesar salad that was tasty but had a little too much dressing, the smoked chicken and avocado and Chipotle sauce on flatbread which was much tastier than expected, and the shrimp cerviche. All this food and two margaritas were under under $60! We were very full and satisfied.
This is a very cool restaurant affiliated with the Saguaro Hotel. We had lunch on the patio. My husband had a seafood chop salad and I had the sausage and sweet peppers flat bread. Both were perfect. There's an outdoor fireplace that would be great for evening margaritas. We'll be back.
I specifically picked this restaurant because the menu on the restaurants web site showed an interesting take on Mexican cooking. Not untill I was seated did I find out that the previous chef had left and the menu was now 'American' cooking. At that point I should have left but since I didn't know the area that well I stayed for what was a very disappointing meal. I hope with this review you'll at least know that the food is no longer Mexican but a very boring 'American' cooking.

I was looking for a place to have lunch with several people in Scottsdale. I knew the weather would be nice and this place looked like it had some good outdoor seating (which it did). I didn't realize the restaurant was in a hotel so we had a little bit of trouble finding the place but it is in a great location in Old Town. The restaurant called me twice prior to my reservation to make sure we were coming which I thought was odd because the place was virtually empty when we showed up. At first the service was extremely good- actually too good. We wanted to have a leisurely lunch- start out with drinks and apps- but we felt like we were being rushed to order main courses. But then, after we did order everyone seemed to disappear and it took forever to order more drinks and then to get our check. All in all, the experience wasn't bad- the food was very good- but I would have preferred a livelier place where my group could have enjoyed a long lunch without feeling like we were burdening the restaurant.
Distrito was basically empty the day after Christmas, and I'm guessing it's because it was, after all, the day after Christmas. But I'm not sure. It could be the tiny portions. The decor is adorable, the food is good (we ordered guac to share, I got the fish tacos and the kids each got something but I can't recall), but the portions are really small, and so maybe that has something to do with it. The wait staff was exceptional. I'll give it that. On the other hand, we walked around the grounds and you can walk from the restaurant right out onto Scottsdale Civic Plaza mall, so it's a nice place to hang.
Great tapas options, delicious tortilla chips, odd service
We've eaten at Distrito at least a half-dozen times and the experience has always been the best. The food is both unique and consistently excellent.
We had been to Distrito before and enjoyed it, but this trip was different. First the restaurant was very cold. We asked them to close the door but they didn't do it. We were as far from the door as we could get, but were still cold. There were only four other tables occupied - two that came in after us. After ten minutes someone who was not properly dressed as a server came over and took drink orders - we never saw her again. After 15 minutes the server took drink orders - the drinks came several minutes later. After 35 minutes, no one had taken our order - though they had take the orders and brought snacks to two tables that came in after us. We asked for our check and left. It was pretty clear that the service was going to continue to be bad, it was very cold in the restaurant, and maybe that's why there were so few people there last night. We will not be going back to Distrito
Had a great meal before going to a play at Scottsdale Performing Arts, so location is good for pre-theater or Museum of Contemporary Art visit. Waitress was very helpful. We enjoyed the mushroom flatbread and duck carnitas which we rolled into small tortillas. Each was just a bit different from the usual Mexican fare, with outstanding flavors. We'll go back!
Dined at this restaurant on Thanksgiving day so perhaps it was an anomaly that we found the restaurant to be lacking. The restaurant is a part of a hotel. You walk through the lobby and down into a bar. The bar has signs for shots and other drink specials and it was not very busy aside from a party of six having drinks.
The dining room was pretty empty so it was surprising that we were sat across from a large, jolly (loud) party. The server did greet us and told us that the food was going to take about 15 minutes or so since they had the party going on.
We ordered the vegetarian version of the natchos. They were excellent. The scallops were fine too. We had our kids with us and had to order off the menu for them as there wasn't much in terms of vegetarian food. The server though was very flexible when I asked if they could do a cheese quesidella with a side of rice and beans.
Overall, the food and service were good but the atmosphere was a bit of a surprise. I'm glad we didn't judge by the first impression but I don't think we'd return.

Fantastic food and great service. The scallops, tortilla soup, mushroom flatbread and panacotta were to die for.
The food and the art are incredible! Our waitress knew the menu inside out and was very friendly, but attention to detail is lacking to make this a nice restaurant to a great. (Our appetizer plates and fresh cutlery should have been re-moved/replace prior to the main - it wasn't and made for an awkward and annoying transfer). Maybe its a Scottsdale thing? Would highly recommend - just don't expect amazing service.
We enjoy Districto's so much and it has now become our favorite Mexican cuisine in Scottsdale!
We plan to make every taco Tuesday if we are available.
I was quite pleasantly surprised by the quality and flavor of the food. So many restaurants are all flash and no substance. Modern, hip vibe and the food delivers! Great service and food with true taste-spices that pull the dish together! I went in expecting overhyped, over priced "boutique" food and got the opposite- food prepped well with taste!! Could be a noisy place but was quiet enough to converse when I went. Server and support staff were all really nice, friendly, and chill. Yeah!!!!
Well first let me say that I chose this hotel specifically because of the restaurant. My fiancé and I are big Iron Chef fans so we were really excited to eat here. The ambiance was great but a little odd that there was nobody else in the restaurant. We had reservations but it wouldn't have mattered. So we were seated immediately and ordered drinks which were pretty good. Now before I begin my review of the food let me just say that neither one of us thought Jose Garces was actually back in the kitchen making our food but maybe a proper representation of your food that is supposed to be so amazing. We ordered chips and salsa with guacamole and this was also pretty good as well so we were getting excited. I ordered the carne asada plate and my fiancé ordered the chicken enchiladas. We got our food in a quick manner and our waitress was very pleasant. I tried the Spanish rice first but it just tasted like diced tomatoes. No flavoring of the rice at all! So I moved on to the beans that were basically three spoonful worth and then gone but not really complaining about that because the beans were okay at best. I sadly moved on to the carne asada which had barely any marinade whatsoever. I looked over to my fiancé with disappointment only to find out that when he bit into his chicken enchiladas he was horribly disappointed as well because they were so sweet that he couldn't even continue eating it. Apparently they are made with coconut but we didn't think it would overwhelm the dish so much you couldn't even taste the chicken. We both felt weird sending back both our meals because the menu is so small there isn't much else to choose from except the taco bar which we should had just ordered in the first place. Oh well the hotel was pretty nice and Arizona was amazing so the Distrito will just be the most forgotten part of our trip sadly.
If you go to this restaurant you would not go wrong with having Ashley has a server the best server at this restaurant also you should get the tuna ceviche at the fish of the day was excellent and the any of the fit any of the tacos are just great
went there expecting innovative latin cuisine, instead got ho-hum mexican food. Screaming kid at another table made for a bad experience even worse.
We dined tapas style and ordered several different tacos and small plates. The fish tacos, mushroom flatbread, tuna cerviche and green beans with tomatoes were amazingly good! The steak and shrimp tacos were disappointing. Desserts were good but not amazing. Overall, the food coming out of the kitchen was slow... very slow, but was hot and fresh when it arrived. There was some disorganization with staff delivering the food to wrong tables, but our server was awesome! Cute restaurant, but had visible dust that needed cleaned up.
If you happen to be disabled or wheelchair bound, DONT go to Distrito. Food was good. Service was not. Screaming children were not. Not worth it.

I was looking for a restaurant to surprise my husband with for his birthday and this was the absolute best possible experience... It wasn't overly crowded but had a fun vibe! The service was wonderful from the hostess to the waitress and everyone else! Most amazing food we have ever had... The menu was inspirational.. Truly something we have never tasted before. It was more than a meal, it was an experience. We will return soon!
We were very diappointed in this restaurant. It was definitely not up to an Iron Chefs standards by any means. The server was slow. It took 2 requests to get an empty water glass refilled. They had 4 red wines on the menu but they actually only had 2 of them available. After the chips, salsa & guacamole, that were an additional charge, the food went downhill. The meat in the taco's was bland, the duck was overly sweet & the soup had heat but not enough flavor. The only positive thing was our waitress did comp the wine after our original selection was not available & she had been mia for a long duration. We will not be returning & would not recommend it to anyone else.
Great food and wonderful service. Felt bad for our server as she was taking the brunt of a poorly organized kitchen. Restaurant was half full but no food was coming out. Kitchen and Chef: GET YOUR ACT TOGETHER!
