The Saddle Room Ratings and Reviews
The Saddle Room is a wonderful place to have an excellent meal. There was a few vegetarian options and they were great. The others in my party all enjoyed their Ribeye. Really there wasn’t anything left on their plates. Our server was polite and knowledgeable of the menu. The manager stopped by to make sure everything was good and it was. We put a few bets in at the OTB and won. Ha that covered half our bill.
I had been here for dinner previously but never for brunch. Took my Mom as an early holiday meal. Food was very good, except the website advertises brunch pizza's as part of the menu, and there were definitely no pizzas. The ambiance of the place is great, and the staff is extremely friendly and helpful. I will probably return, but just not for the brunch pizza ;)
I love this place to be outside in the summer and was delighted to see how nice it was inside. I especially liked the seating around the fireplace. We brought our 20-something kids who were excited by the menu as we are on every visit. We enjoy the unique music selection as well. Inventive combinations in a cozy, chic atmosphere!
Great atmosphere and friendly staff. I recommend reviewing the menu prior to making this your dining option. Listed as American but my group of friends struggled with finding something to eat. The cuisine is very high end unique options that aren't for everyone and very overpriced. If you are a foodie looking for new options and don't mind paying more for it, then this is a great place for you. It was a poor choice for our friends get together.
Date started out nice, our server was very attentive up until we recieved our appetizer, then he was gone for quite a while. Duck wings appetizer really set a high standard for dinner. Our dinner was served very quickly which made me think everything is just sitting in heating trays. I ordered the chicken and rice...the chicken was dry and flavorless. It was served over mushroom risotto which was still under cooked and under seasoned. Also there were literally 3 mushrooms. This was all served with a dark brown sauce that was so bitter almost burnt, it ruined the entire dish. My fiancé ordered the short rib, the best thing in her plate were the garlic mashed potatoes. Ribs fell off the bone but again the meat was dry and her dish also had a burnt taste to it. Overall dinner was terrible and overpriced.
We ate there because we were going to a Cirgque du Soleil show across the street at the Sears Centre. The meal was great. The service attentive and quick knowing that we needed to get to the show. It's out of the way for us, but if we lived near the restaurant we would go there regularly.
I was very happy where we were seated because it wasn't as loud as other tables would have been. The wine suggestion was delicious and all 4 of us enjoyed our meals. The waiter was able to make changes to our meals according to our tastes and dietary needs.
Food was pretty good altho hamburger buns were falling apart. Waitress kind of forgot to ask my husband what he wanted to drink so we had to say "hey, wait a minute" . We were seated in a back corner which was quite cool--if I had a jacket I would have been wearing it. Prices were reasonable.
My fiance and I are regulars and never leave disappointed.
Staff is amazing. We request Steve a majority of the time, great service, knows his menu, and funny. Todd, the manager is alway very personable as well.
Hands down, def the best restaurant for food and ambiance in the burbs.
dark and gloomy...had to read menus with iPhone light...ribeye was medium rare as ordered but dry and sans jus (which was absorbed by a mound of ordinary mashed potatoes leaving the overall dish arid and the meat tasted and looked like a sirloin not a rib eye...wine list has a few okay priced bottles and a ton of outrageously priced bottles...the jack daniels was competitively priced...calamari was outnumbered by jalapeños peppers...halibut also was dry...no table cloths...utensils not changed between courses...are we picky? at these prices ($400 for 4 with one $45 bottle of red and 6 cocktails)...you better believe it.
Food is chef inspired (Lobster Corn Dogs) and very good. The Israeli couscous is super. The Confit of Duck was fall-off-the-bone tender. The Smoky Gnocchi was very flavorful. Their wine list is LONG and priced from ~$30 to $1,200. Yes. $1,200. The dining rooms are nicely decorated. We needed more lighting in the back room in order to read the menu and enjoy the visual presentation of our food. Ambiance, yes. So dimly lit that we resolved to use a cellphone flashlight to complete our meal, NO. The bar areas are welcoming and comfortable. Maybe too comfortable. With bodies strewn across its couches, the fireplace area looked like a flop house. There is a nice looking outdoor patio area that we didn't explore do to the chilly evening temperature. We'll definitely be back to try something else on the menu. We'll surely recommend dining here to others. Enjoy!
General Manager, Chris, was on a power trip and made the entire experience terrible. Will never go back and we will let others know. Service was very slow for a not so busy night and the patio was empty but they still made us move to a different table.
