The Saddle Room Ratings and Reviews
Date started out nice, our server was very attentive up until we recieved our appetizer, then he was gone for quite a while. Duck wings appetizer really set a high standard for dinner. Our dinner was served very quickly which made me think everything is just sitting in heating trays. I ordered the chicken and rice...the chicken was dry and flavorless. It was served over mushroom risotto which was still under cooked and under seasoned. Also there were literally 3 mushrooms. This was all served with a dark brown sauce that was so bitter almost burnt, it ruined the entire dish. My fiancé ordered the short rib, the best thing in her plate were the garlic mashed potatoes. Ribs fell off the bone but again the meat was dry and her dish also had a burnt taste to it. Overall dinner was terrible and overpriced.
Great food with excellent prices. extensive cocktail menu with martni's shaken table side. Has a lingering smokey smell from the kitchen which some may find a bit strong. Great Vibe!
We ate there because we were going to a Cirgque du Soleil show across the street at the Sears Centre. The meal was great. The service attentive and quick knowing that we needed to get to the show. It's out of the way for us, but if we lived near the restaurant we would go there regularly.
Our server and all others who attended to us were fabulous! Our server was very attentive, very friendly, and always anticipating our needs. The restaurant has a very nice ambiance, and is very inviting. The whole experience was wonderful!
We had the private "room" so we were able to enjoy conversation and a great dinner! This place never disappoints! Service is always terrific. See you again soon!
We loved this place! Very cute decor. Cozy tables. The food is very good, excellent - great choices. Service- perfect, very nice server. Wine choice are great! Drinks are so good, fresh ingredients .
We want to go back very soon!!
Fantastic service, very well trained staff, management was great, and the food preparation was fantastic. A little pricey for the portions, but the quality and flavor profiles were amazing. Fantastic overall experience.
I was very happy where we were seated because it wasn't as loud as other tables would have been. The wine suggestion was delicious and all 4 of us enjoyed our meals. The waiter was able to make changes to our meals according to our tastes and dietary needs.
The ambiance and food are always top notch. I gave service 4 stars as for at this price point, you would expect simple things like bringing bread and pouring your wine to be a standard.
Food was pretty good altho hamburger buns were falling apart. Waitress kind of forgot to ask my husband what he wanted to drink so we had to say "hey, wait a minute" . We were seated in a back corner which was quite cool--if I had a jacket I would have been wearing it. Prices were reasonable.
I really enjoyed my lunch. The sandwiches were interesting and different from the everyday norm. I had a Grilled Cheese Bacon Popper sandwich that was really good.
My fiance and I are regulars and never leave disappointed.
Staff is amazing. We request Steve a majority of the time, great service, knows his menu, and funny. Todd, the manager is alway very personable as well.
Hands down, def the best restaurant for food and ambiance in the burbs.
dark and gloomy...had to read menus with iPhone light...ribeye was medium rare as ordered but dry and sans jus (which was absorbed by a mound of ordinary mashed potatoes leaving the overall dish arid and the meat tasted and looked like a sirloin not a rib eye...wine list has a few okay priced bottles and a ton of outrageously priced bottles...the jack daniels was competitively priced...calamari was outnumbered by jalapeños peppers...halibut also was dry...no table cloths...utensils not changed between courses...are we picky? at these prices ($400 for 4 with one $45 bottle of red and 6 cocktails)...you better believe it.
Food here is very creative and very tasty. Also has a very friendly and inviting atmosphere.
Food is chef inspired (Lobster Corn Dogs) and very good. The Israeli couscous is super. The Confit of Duck was fall-off-the-bone tender. The Smoky Gnocchi was very flavorful. Their wine list is LONG and priced from ~$30 to $1,200. Yes. $1,200. The dining rooms are nicely decorated. We needed more lighting in the back room in order to read the menu and enjoy the visual presentation of our food. Ambiance, yes. So dimly lit that we resolved to use a cellphone flashlight to complete our meal, NO. The bar areas are welcoming and comfortable. Maybe too comfortable. With bodies strewn across its couches, the fireplace area looked like a flop house. There is a nice looking outdoor patio area that we didn't explore do to the chilly evening temperature. We'll definitely be back to try something else on the menu. We'll surely recommend dining here to others. Enjoy!
General Manager, Chris, was on a power trip and made the entire experience terrible. Will never go back and we will let others know. Service was very slow for a not so busy night and the patio was empty but they still made us move to a different table.
Honestly this is such a hidden gem and I would hope Guly recommend it to others.
Waitress was great as were the drinks. Food was average, but below expectations. More on the food...very interesting and pleasing to the eye, but was lacking a lot of flavor. Apps were probably the best part of the meal; duck wings, calamari and lobster corn dogs were all good.
We like this restaurant, but please turn up the lighting. Our waitress needed to use a flashlight to help read the menu.
The food was good. Proportions not huge. Dark lighting. Very Large space. Waiter was attentive. Dishes were unique. A lot of special drinks
The place had a very cool vibe. Menu had a lot to choose from. Unfortunately I chose the Carnitas pork flatbread. When I bit into the flatbread I immediately got a whiff of something rancid. I told myself it must be the seasoning in the carnitas or something. I offered a piece to my daughter without saying anything and before she even took a bite she said "this does not smell very good....I think there is something wrong with it." So I knew I wasn't crazy. I told the waitress and she denied it at first and then offered me something else (we didn't have time) and I just told her no but you might want to check into this meal. She did and one of the owners did come out and apologize and acknowledge that they did serve us bad food. He did not make us pay which was wonderful. I was disappointed that the waitress never acknowledged that she served me spoiled food, never apologized or anything. I still tipped her. I am really thinking this was an isolated incident. The owner was extremely apologetic and I am sure it won't happen again. It really is a cool restaurant - if only I would have picked a different menu item!!
It was too noisy to hear ourselves inside so we went outside. As soon as the sunset, the mosquitoes came out in force. I ended up with 50 mosquito bytes on my legs (I had shorts on). Made for a very un-enjoyable dinner. I already had entree so did not want to move, but looking at my legs the next day I should have moved. Would have been nice if they had put fire or heaters outside.
Celebrated my girlfriends birthday. Enjoyed it very much! Yum!
The Saddle Room is one of my favorite places. The food never disappoints. The patio is unlike anything you will find in this area. And the indoor space is wonderful as well. We come here whenever we get a chance. I also had my baby shower here and it was perfect!
My wife and I love this place. We invited our friends/neighbors who are moving to Mexico for a farewell dinner. They loved it too. We will definitely be dining here again and again and again!
Our waitress was awesome and the restaurant had a cool theme, however the food left us wanting more -literally. Although most of the food was unique and tasty, the portion sizes were extraordinarily small especially for the prices charged. When we asked for another serving of the potatoes with wasabi sauce we were told that there was not enough left to be giving out 2nd portions to anyone. We won't be going back to pay so much for so little.
