Great table. Waitress was attentive enough. Great food and wine
My wife and I and our niece dined here last week. Valet service was nice and upon entering live piano music and singing added to the ambiance of the restaurant. We were shown to our table and immediately a very amiable female server took care of our drinks and went over the specials. I had the spiced guinea hen (moist and delicious) and ordered roasted brussel sprouts (outstanding). My wife had sunchoke soup (very good) and a salad which was just OK. Our niece had (naturally, being 22 years old) a burger. She loved it and took home my brussel sprouts because she loved them. All in all a good experience. We looked out upon their brick patio with a huge chimney for barbecuing. We have to go back in the warmer weather to sample that!!
Met friends for Sunday. brunch. The service, food, and atmosphere were perfect to engage in conversation
This will now be our go to place
The Ryland Inn is at the top of best restaurant experience you can have. The presentation and food preparation was outstanding. The service staff and dining atmosphere was exceptional. This is a special dining experience I look forward to returning to again.
Always 5 stars, top to bottom. I’ve never noticed the slightest misstep here, and spent many years working in fine dining and wine (and would categorize my reviews as “firm but fair”).
Great service and nice ambiance. Good for dates but definitely an older crowd.
A wonderful evening. Fantastic food, a creative variety!
Amazing ambiance. Live music with a solo singer and guitar - the performer was great. Attentive service. Delicious food and they accommodated my wife's gluten allergy. And, since they new it was our anniversary, they gave us a little card. Another, factor I appreciated - our table was designated that 10% of all proceeds were donated to a local charity. Our leftovers were wrapped up and picked up at coat check on the way out. We'll 100% be back.
The Ryland Inn never fails to be outstanding although, at this time of year, was unusually crowded with holiday parties etc. The best venison my brother in law has EVER HAD (and he is a connoisseur). This was our friends first time there and they enjoyed everything! Will be back.....again!
Had Christmas brunch with the family. Pricey but food and service were outstanding
Ryland Inn was fabulous from start to finish . The minute we walked in directed straight to piano bar . Great music and cocktails. Then are guests arrived and sat down in main room. Quiet spectacular service by our waitress and food was delicious. From the charcuterie platter to start to the wagyu steak.
The special seasonal cocktail, the Ryland Punch was excellent. Very creative with cachaça, mescal, thyme. The rest of the cocktails looked interesting as well. We enjoyed the monkfish and the black bass, with a side of mushrooms. All the food was fresh, well prepared and delicious. The Foccacia bread was served warm and was hard to resist. Service was attentive and outstanding.
Loved our dinner and Peter our server was fantastic.
The black cod and the filet were amazing.
We had not been to The Ryland Inn for at least ten years. We wanted to eat out at a special restaurant because we were celebrating our 30th wedding anniversary and could not have been more pleased with our decision to dine at The Ryland Inn. Everything about the evening was perfect, starting with the service, the ambience and, of course, the food.
Awesome food and great wine selection
It was an off-night for the Ryland Inn this time, just before Thanksgiving. The cocktails, ordered first, took forever to arrive, so we ate our app s-l-o-w-l-y. The bartender seemed overwhelmed. Our entrees were what we wanted, though mine was barely warm when it was put in front of me. We also asked if we could split the truffle shavings between our 2 plates, and were told yes, but were charged for two ultimately. The dessert list was mundane (no pastry chef?), and the gluten-free apple tart was almost taste free, as well. The food was good, but not up to Ryland's usual standards.
Waiter was extremely knowledgeable and courteous but tried to up sell each and every interaction we had. It got old by the end of the meal.
It was fine the entree was good but the accompaniment of chorizo was tough
The ‘snacks’ of popcorn and cheese and bread were quite good
Wonderful dinner, excellent service and imaginative menu and drinks. The only downside to this lovely venue is the noise level. Perhaps a week night would be quieter. The
Always a great night at the Ryland Inn ! Food and drinks were outstanding and the service was excellent. Great atmosphere.
The hostess was the most amazing, gracious and kind person. We were waiting on a client during a rainstorm, and she kept checking in with us.
Music in the bar area was a bit too loud, but the performer was amazing!
Another good meal at Ryland Inn. We came on a Saturday night and it seemed like the restaurant was understaffed. It took quite a while for us to be greeted with water. It seemed as though the waiter had 10 other tables besides us which is abnormal for a fine dining restaurant. The food was great, service was a bit slow at the beginning, ambiance and noise level was normal, but the price was a bit steep for the portion amount. Last time I came to the Ryland a year ago, I remember the portions being a but bigger.
Great dining experience and superb service by Austen
One of our favorite restaurants! We drive 45 minutes and well worth it! Excellent food and service! Highly recommend!
Our pre dinner cocktails at the bar was offered and suggested by the hostess upon entering. This was nice because the piano player and service here was excellent. The bartenders were true mixologist and Dean (piano) was absolutely the highlight of the night. Throughout our dinner, the sub servers were very good but I must admit our main waitress (Danielle) had a terrible attitude right from the moment we sat down. Had the food not been existent and the remainder of the staff superb, we wouldn’t consider returning. This was one of the best meals we have had in a long time so we’re up for a second chance some time soon.
Here is a restaurant that tries to be pretentious and fails. We arrived on a Saturday night and were escorted through the bar area which was very loud, but it is a bar area. Then we were seated at a table in another room and it was just as loud. We then waited for at least 10 minutes before anyone came to the table. Finally someone came and offered us water and then left. I assumed that this was the busboy. Only later to find out that it was the waiter. He finally offered us drinks or wine. This was the pattern for the rest of the night. We finally ordered and the drinks and food came rather quickly. Appetizers were excellent, but I had to pour my own wine refills.
Soon entrées came and my wife's salmon was undercooked and needed to go back, so I ate my steak alone and watched he eat her fish later. Again I poured my own wine.
In summary, this is a sports pub with NYC prices. Not at all worth the price. Would not go back and would not visit any of their other restaurants. BTW, no manager ever came by the table.
Solid American food. Given the restaurant's history in its former building, at which I also ate, I expected produce with more flavor. This was a little heavy on the salt or sweetness. Good drinks and wines. Steak had good flavor.
Fantastic adult beverages, service, ambiance and food! Interesting pairings of ingredients. Love this place...
The food was exquisite and the service was wonderful, as well.
My wife and I spent an inordinate amount of time debating over whether or not the Ryland Inn would live up to our hopes/high expectations for a very special anniversary celebration and we could not have been more pleased with our choice! The venue was as lovely and well-maintained as depicted online; main dining room and bar area upscale/elegant, yet warm, inviting, comfortable, cozy. The bartender was great; professional, knowledgeable and cocktails were excellent. We had the chef's tasting menu with wine pairings; substituted the grilled octopus ceviche (suggested by the bartender) for the heirloom tomato salad and all offerings were excellent. The one aspect in which the experience fell short was regarding the service staff; whom although they were really nice and trying really hard, there was no disguising the fact they were overwhelmingly too young and inexperienced than one would expect to find in a fine-dining establishment such as this.
Friends 60th Birthday
Wonderful time!! Thank you!
The food was superb for our anniversary dinner! Not only in taste but presentation. The setting is lovely.
My only complaint is my table didn’t have a tablecloth and for fine dining I feel that’s a must.
I would love to go back for the brunch.
The ambience, setting, and especially the food were excellent. Our server faded after a strong start and we didn’t see her for about 25 minutes after we had gotten our food. She brought the check over and we didn’t realize she had put the neighboring table’s martini on our tab. She did catch it and took it off of course but I’m not sure I should be giving kudos for getting a bill correctly.
Not sure about the ‘noise’ rating but it seemed just right. Would recommend again. Great food.
Staff took amazing care of us for our anniversary on short notice. Excellent food, drink, and service. Will return!
All aspects of the evening were good, except that the air conditioning didn’t seem to be working ( or not well if it was).
Visiting town for the QuickChek balloon festival. We happened upon this place in search of an impromptu brunch. It was a bit pricey but worth every penny. Food was to die for and staff was very friendly and accommodating. Would definitely love to go back if we are in the area.
My husband and I haven't dined at the Ryland Inn in many years because it's a good 45 minutes from our house. Loved it before and loved it now. We had a wonderful experience celebrating my husband's birthday.
Exquisite meal, fabulous balance of flavors in the grilled peach salad along with a wonderful scallop dinner. Food is always great and live music in bar area is a wonderful touch. Comfortable , cozy, classy and costly. But worth every dollar.
Everyone was so nice!! The food was outstanding!
