Great food. Great night
The restaurant ambiance was nice; although it was quite noisy. The server was very knowledgeable of the menu items and very professional and pleasant. The appetizers were awesome. We had the deviled eggs and the haystacks. Loved both. For dinner my husband ordered the red snapper and I got the lasagne. The food tasted good; but the portions were very small for the price of the meals. The appetizers and drinks were a food value for the price but the entrees seemed grossly overpriced for what you got. The lasagna was not much more than 2 sheets of pasta with sautéed mushrooms and spinach in between. No sauce just some grated cheese which seemed overly salty. My husbands red snapper tasted excellent but the piece was all of 5 bites with a very small amount of rice and vegetables. They did have a fairly decent selections of craft beers.
Consider yourself lucky if you're seated in Brittany's section during your Rusty Spoon experience. She's one of the finest servers you'll find anywhere in metro Orlando. Her knowledge of the chef's preparation and dish ingredients is exceptional, as is the food that comes out of Ms. Blake's kitchen. If the fried green tomato and burrata cheese salad is offered order one and don't share with your table mates -- it's so good you'll want it all to yourself. On this visit I had the fish and chips, a common dish made uncommon at the Spoon. Really terrific. My lunch guest waded tepidly into the non-traditional lasagna but found the vegetarian meal preparation exceptional. I've never had a bad meal here, although not all the servers are in Brittany's sphere of professionalism. You really can't go wrong at the Rusty Spoon.
It’s always awesome!!
The atmosphere is great, the menu is good even for lunch.
The burger The 55 is just amazing
Rusty spoon is one of my favorite restaurant in Orlando
It was ok, I was disappointed that they didn't serve any bread. I didn't expect my chicken Milanese to be fried. My friend could barely find the chicken livers in her salad
Great food great service. Desert was amazing. Would recommend to friends.
My first visit to Church Street Station and I choose to eat at the Rusty Spoon based on reviews from TripAdvisor and Yelp! It is in a nice area with high traffic. The menu is ecclectic and has some interesting combinations of foods listed. There is a warning that changes to the menu will be met with a nice decline-take that seriously. I ordered a salad with warm bacon dressing, chicken livers and the menu said there would be a soft egg. Since I don't like runny eggs I requested a hard boiled egg and was politely declined by the chef-no worries, just take the egg off. Another diner ordered the Handheld 55 which is a burger cooked medium well, and another guest ordered the seafood medley. The salad was a basic spinach salad, the dressing was warm and good, just not a lot of it-don't ask for more dressing, you will be declined in the nicest of ways. The burger was rare, red and drippy-had to send that back. Received the burger back and the red had turned to pink. Still not medium well. Guess the chef doesn't like to cook burgers to a guest's preference either. The seafood medley was just that-seafood. Nothing special. So, I guess this is a place to go if you happen to like what the chef has on the menu and you like things cooked like the chef will cook them. Nuff said.
Excellent through and through. Carpaccio appetizer was amazing and the grouper special even better. Finished with blueberry cobbler and pistachio ice cream, an unusual but tasty combo! Will definitely be back!
The Rusty Spoon is consistently one of the best restaurants in Orlando.
Food was pretty good, service was underwhelming. The ambiance was sterile.
The restaurant seemed to have gone downhill a bit. Menu limited, service just okay. Poorly patched hole in the booth upholstery... a sign of something?
Late night dinner was served quickly and all entrees were perfectly prepared. The atmosphere was energetic and the setting casual yet elegant. Overall - the perfect evening!
Average food, slow service, great location. We let our server know in advance we we needed to leave within an hour, we didn’t receive our food until 30 minutes after we ordered—appetizers and entrees at the same time with dessert moments after so the meal was difficult to enjoy. Server was pleasant but was inexperienced. Manager was sincerely apologetic, it happens I understand. Reality is there’s too many choices these days—experiences like this will not inspire guests to return for a future visit.
We were barely greeted when we walked in and we were the first people seated in the entire restaurant We were asked if we had tickets to a show and we told them yes we have about an hour is that enough time, and they said that would be plenty we would be out the door in plenty of time As we sat there, the restaurant filled up and we watched every other table get food except us It took over 40 minutes to get our food and we called the manager over to explain that we were disappointed he basically shrugged and said it was our waiter’s fault and walked away Our food was lukewarm and mediocre at best, we will absolutely not be returning there
We had theater at 8pm. Got there at 6.30pm. Told hostess and waiter we needed to be out by 7.30. Salad and main course showed up together at 7.25pm. Clearly this is not the place to go before an event.
It was the worst dining experience I’ve ever had.
The ambiance was pleasant, relaxed and earthy. The menu was most unusual, with all dishes prepared in a very different way. I had what they called chicken milanaise, which was quite different from the standard Italian version, though tasty. The potato sticks were crisp and outstanding, with 3 delicious sauces. Could have made a meal on them alone-huge portion! Waiter was helpful and attentive.
Fresh, local cuisine with an all-star chef!
This was the best dining experience we’ve had at a new restaurant (new to us) in a awhile! Can’t wait to go back!! Food was superb!
Steak was a little tough but service and ambiance were good.
Ok so I’m a big foodie and this restaurant had great reviews. There was 8 of us at 7:15p on a Monday. Let’s start with 4 choices for wine by the glass. Not enough. Just call it house wine. Then we wanted two meat/cheese boards and they were out so we only were able to have one. Apps were a poor selection so fried and onion rings were the app? Yeah.. ok then the special was tuna. 3 people ordered but only two people could have it as again... they were out. The burger was ok, the steak was ok. Not many choices but for farm to table that’s fine... but just “ok”. Dessert was the best thing? Really? Then I asked for coffee and you can’t get a cup, you have to get a pot. If you want a cup it’s an espresso so I ask for a cappuccino, no... don’t have that. Really? So overall, cute place. Great waitress. Kinda felt bad for her as the message delivery girl. She was attentive and the place is cute. Just need to up their game big time so don’t be fooled by the reservations. If you don’t believe my review, that’s fine, try it for yourself.
My boyfriend and I dined here on Tuesday and had a phenomenal experience! Our server was Molly and she was so fun to chat with. I can’t wait to go back and try the seasonal menues!!
A great night! Reign was our server and was so gracious and accommodating w our requests.
The food was all seasoned perfectly.
Definitely will recommend
We went just before a concert. The food was pretty good but my appy was under seasoned. The main was a fish dish which was okay. The server was very nice but forgot cutlery a few times. They also didn’t have coffee by the cup but also didn’t offer an Americano but did make one when I asked. Dessert was good. Overall it felt a little disjointed for the price - not sure I’d go again.
Excellent farm to table food experience. Unique and tasty dishes. Highly recommend.
Excellent food and service.
Our server was great, and food was pretty good. Rating reflects the manager/owner. I will never go back here and urge others to stay away as well. We ordered one of the most expensive bottles of wine on the list. We wanted sparkling, and the choice was Prosecco - or Krug, which we chose. On our first pour, someone from the staff bumped the table (hard), and spilled a couple glasses from the bottle. We watched our server go to consult with the manager (who she later told us was the owner). They talked for a long time. Odd. You spilled our bottle on our fist glass. Offer us a new bottle - right? Alas. The manager came over, made a perfunctory apology, and offered us an unspecified discount. Really? I questioned this, and - defensively - he informed us that it was an accident. Yup. I did not think it was intentional. And I know that accidents happen. So who pays the price? The restaurant - whose server spilled the wine, or me? (Funny, I've spilled my own coffee at Starbucks and gone back to order another - and they reliably refuse to let me pay - instead providing it gratis.) Had we bought a $50 bottle of wine, I'm pretty sure you would simply replace, no questions asked. But because we bought one of your most expensive bottles of wine and were (I suspect) one of your highest covers of the night - you treat us worse? You could have sold the rest of the bottle by the glass. And while I have seen worse mark-ups, I know roughly what you paid for that bottle and you would not have lost money had you done the right thing and given us a second bottle. (Or - you could have offered us choice of discount or replacement bottle.) Had you done the right thing, I would have come back the next night. And I would have given your restaurant a shout-out at the sales and account management conference where I gave the keynote presentation the next day. But instead, I am writing this review.
Amazing time, loveved every second. Great service, great food!
Food always exceeds expectations.
Great food and service! Unique and out-of-the-ordinary dishes, as well as some well-executed staples. The grilled squid and octopus comes as a warm salad, perfectly done. Will be adding to my "must return" list the next time I'm in Orlando.
Early Moms Day Celebration the evening prior
We dropped in early and our hostess was able to accommodate us on a busy night before a concert - really appreciated. Perfect location for the concert at Amway Arena.
Great service (attentive and fun) and food (eclectic menu choices, well seasoned).
Great food and service in this downtown Orlando restaurant. The best of modern American food.
Highly recommended, and good prices too.
This is by far the best bar/restaurant in the Church Street area from all perspectives. It is our go to place when we are going to a soccer game or an event at the Amway Arena or Dr. Philips. Not cheap but worth it in our opinion. Staff is great and goes out of its way to make you feel welcome.
Great, unique and aeromatic cocktails. Food was fabulous. Go with the chef whim of day and you can't go wrong.
The experience beyond exceeded our expectations for our anniversary. I will dream about the food (at least until the next time we get to go back). Service was excellent. Drinks were delicious. And the sweet celebratory dessert at the end made it that much more memorable.
Wonderful food! Service was a little slow, but great for date night.
It was an excellent evening and atmosphere.
Our first visit to the Spoon. We have been more oriented towards WP but live in the Mills 50 area now and have started enjoying downtown. We enjoy an early dinner before attending performances at Dr. Phillips and that was our reason to make the early reservation Saturday.
We completely enjoyed the food, ambiance and the great service provided by Sky. He cheerfully told us about specials and the chef's preparation of some dishes. We enjoyed three courses with delightful wines. The wine list is broad and artfully paired to the menu. The menu is so centered around the abundance of fresh ingredients found in Florida. We appreciate the use of local produce and protein. Thanks for such a lovely choice in our dining adventures in Orlando. We will be back.
Just moved here.... very refreshing to find a real organic restaurant with reasonable prices.... staff was very welcoming and down to earth with my family (two toddlers).... will most certainly be back!
