A charming and cosy English pub, The Running Horse is nestled in the village of Littleton just outside the historic city of Winchester.
Its idyllic countryside setting makes it a destination of choice for fans of country leisure pursuits and touring groups as well as businesses. The 9 stylish bedrooms are equipped with free Wi-Fi, Freeview TV, tea/coffee facilities, and private bath or shower rooms.
Whatever the season or occasion, The Running Horse makes for a welcoming stop. The locally-brewed Upham ales, wine and champagne lists complement an exciting, seasonal lunch and dinner menu, which are carefully created using locally-sourced ingredients. All our items are here at The Running Horse are freshly prepared, bespoke to your order by our chef. Breakfast is served to residents and non-residents alike between 7:30am-9:30am Mon-Fri and 8am-10am Saturday and Sunday. It is advisable to ring ahead if you are not staying with us. Tea and coffee is served in the bar area from 9am Monday to Friday, and from 10am Saturday and Sunday

The Covid precautions were good and the dining area was well arranged to ensure social distancing. Food was good - particularly the beef was of a very high quality. Service was attentive and prompt and we appreciated the absence of excessive noise.

Great food, good service. Sat in the new large teepee, which is great. Not sure about the hot blown air system though, fine for us as we were sat next to the outlet, but blowing air around is probably not a wise idea at this time. Might be worth thinking of infrared heaters instead.....

Lovely food. A bit claustrophobic due to the screens which gave us little space to move but understandable. Staff were lovely and service good

Very good meal, as always. The calves liver was outstanding and chef was happy to amend the mussels sauce for us. We will miss our restaurant during lockdown -good luck to Jonny and all the staff.
